The car was using heaps of fuel and lacked power, computer said that crank angle sensor was faulty, so it was replaced. Still no power!! Replaced plugs and air filter, no difference, and no sign of a fault in the computer log. Whilst fiddling under the bonnet decided to try something, pulled the connector from the throttle position sensor and took the beast for a test run. To my surprise the vehicle drove exactly as it did with the sensor connected. Is this as it should be or is the sensor faulty and therefore my problem.

The Turbo has the PLUSH leather, and of course it is a TURBO. The S has capability to add satellite radio which I want. It will an expensive add on but it will work seamlessly with the Nav screen. I would have to add an external unit on the 2004 I beleive as satellite was only offered in 05. I would only have volume control on Nav screen. (boy I sound picky) What do I do? 2004 or go newer with less miles. The turbo was a much more expensive car in 04 than S in 06...can't decide..

I have a 97 Infinity I30. No start. Cleaned posts on battery, nothing. Not even a click when key is turned.

My 1997 Infinity I30 has been starting hard for the last couple days. The starter turns slow, especially when the engine is warm. Today it would not start at all even with the engine cool. I cleaned the battery cables. When turning the key I do not even hear a click from the starter. Lights do not dim anything like that. A relay? Bad starter? Bad ground?

We're currently experiencing random failure of our '96 Chevy Blazer LS V6 to start. Strong battery & starter.

First problem seemed to be when starting in morning after setting all night. Now occurs anytime. Only occurs when engine is turned off and then restarted. Doesn't seem to affect power and performance after it is started. Is not always a problem to re-start. Have read possibilities from faulty ignition switch to poor connection of coil or bad coil. Any suggestions or other ideas appreciated, and how can I might test to prove?

I have a 1986 full size GMC Jimmy 4x4. A rod bearing blew, what is the cheapest way to fix?

I have new heads, lifters, valves. Cylinder #2 rod bearing is shredded, I pulled the pan and took of the bearing from the rod. Thinking of taking the engine out and looking at everything closer. Would it be more cost effective to replace the engine or take the crank/cam, bearings and have it done at a machine shop? Or rebuild it myself? Also, if I end up keeping the vehicle after doing all this work, I live in a county where I don't need to smog it...is there any directions online to taking off all the smog stuff?

I wanna make sure nothing happens to my 2002 jeep liberty and that it stays prime and lasts for a very long time because i cannot afford a new vehicle and this is my sole mode of transportation. as of now its making some bad noises at one of the pulleys i have come to believe and just wondering if anyone else has experienced these problems. i do live in phoenix Arizona. real hot. running that AC a lot. know its hard on the engine but i drive it easy

I am also having problem with the air directional switch,the instrument panel has basically pegged the voltege meter, the radio has volume for the CD player and not the radio?? can you suggest what I can do to fix this??

We had the rear brakes replaced, also the rotors and wheel cylinders. Since then, when the vehicle is off, the brake pedal goes to the floor. It did not do that before. We keep being told that it is ok as they are power assisted and if the power is off, there is no brake.

2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Problems

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram with the new 6.7 L Diesel Engine. My check engine light keeps coming on. I've had it back to the dealer 4 times. The first time was the oxygen sensor. Then it was something else. They even asked me if I out the low sulfur diesel in it. Oh, and they told me not to idle the truck too long. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I have a Chev Venture 2000 which I have been having problems with the van. The computer code was P1811. Last week I had a new solenoid installed. Within a day I started to have problems with the starter. At times the van doesn't even turn over. I turn it off and restart but there is a problem now with the starter. I question if the solenoid could be defective, installed incorrectly or is the starter a completely unrelated problem?? Your answers would be sincerely welcomed. I really don't know what to do next!!!

I have an 03 Ford Escape (95000 miles). When pulling uphill and shifting from 4th to 3rd, it grinds and growls and shifts hard. Likewise, when shifting from 3rd to 4th, it shifts hard. What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

My 89 GMC S-15 cuts out while shifting gears and it also grinds in third.

when i first bought my suburban is never did burn oil i would change it every 3,000 miles and then heard about amsoil and thought i'd try it but now i'm adding about a quart every 2,000 miles and dont understand why

Within the last week the temp gauge immediately climbs to Max HOT within a couple of minutes. We have replaced the T-stat and fluid, cleaned the temp gauge sensors and still get the same results. There is no overheating, over-boiling, or liquid leaking from under the car or the radiator.

Could this be a water pump issue or a sensor issue or what - we are at a loss???

Just a note to those who helped with my Mazda Protege.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my problems with my 2001 Mazda Protege are over. I was having trouble getting my car to start. I have been working on it for 6 months now. I FINALLY sent it to a mechanic who informed me that I needed a new computer!!! WOO FREAKIN HOO! LOL For those that tried to help me I am greatly appreciative!

Sebring, Chrysler, 2001. Just had new tires and alinement fixed at Sears. Car is slowing down when going up hills. You press the accelorater and it doesnt help. When at an idol the RPM's are low.

I have replaced master cylinder to the abs block to the hoses to the calipers to the caliper brackets and hardware to the rotors and pads. I have bled gallons of fluid thru the system, at the mas. cyl. at the abs block at the front and rear brakes. I have very little pedal in the front left and the back right brakes. I have no effect on the front right and back left, as if somewhere in the line there is a blockage. They wont even bleed? The only thing that will stop the car is the emergency brake and living in West Virginia mountains makes it a little scary. I haven't actually driven it in more than a month. I keep tracing lines and replacing parts with no success. Everybody I have spoken to about this is lost and has no further info for me. Is there any way to test maybe the computer to see if the abs is being told to do the wrong thing by the computer? There are no leaks anywhere on this car and when its turned off it feels like there is a solid pedal but when you turn the ignition the pedal goes to the floor and you have to use your toe to pull it off the floor. I am running out of time and need any help I can find.

I need help with my Jeep Cherokee. It seems to not be getting fuel after the engine heats up.

after i have drove the vehicle to be warmed up and i shut off the car i can not start the car i not getting any fuel I've changed the fuel pump and filter i also changed my throttle position sensor, fuel injector cleaner, I cleaned the fuel relay it was dirty with alot of mess but it still does the same thing im still getting current in the spark plug wires, whats going on please help thanks

I have a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500. It is a 4WD with a 5.7L, and an automatic over drive trans. (Not the 700R4), I recently had something called a line pressure regulator installed in it, to cure a shifting problem. This worked for a while, but a couple of days ago on a trip home from Wisconsin, my trans developed some bad habits. It will run down the hiway fine for a while after stopping and shutting off the engine, then it begins to kick out of overdrive, and slip, the check engine lite flickers, and the truck bucks like crazy. If I let off the throttle it will go back into overdrive, some times I have to do this repeatedly befor it settles down and runs normally. Once it does everything is fine until I shut the truck off again, then it goes nuts again. Can anyone help?

Porsche Boxster horn blows when hitting a bump or when applying brakes. Where is the fuse for the horn?

Hi, Recently purchased a 2003 Santa Fe 2.7 V6, Auto, 59,000 miles, One Owner, Garaged & immediately (the next day), used it on a 2500 mile roundtrip. After driving 300 - 400 miles on the interstate, the car jerked once at 70 mph & then was fine for the rest of the 1,250 miles.
On the return part, we just drove about 30 miles (of the 1,250 miles), the car jerked once at about 50 mph & we continued on without a problem for the rest of the trip.
Since the 2,500 mile trip, the Timing Belt-Water Pump & the Transmission Oil has been replaced.
Now after 3,500 miles of owning the car, it just jerked again at 50 mph. In all cases, we were just cruising along smoothly, not acceleratg or deceleratg. So we're averaging one jerk or kick every 1,000 miles. Did not look to see if the Tach dropped when it jerked-was more shocked when it happened, we'll have to remember that next time.
The car runs really great except for this problem.
ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT IS? We would like to fix it before it becomes a major problem & a major expense. Our guess was the Timing Belt, but it wasn't (it was due for replacement anyway). Thanks.

Twice now I had acceleration delay, rough shifting. Shop found nothing wrong except that my oil level was nil. I take it every 3,000 mi for service & oil change. Now it has happened again. After I fill it with oil she runs great. Don't understand. There are no signs in my driveway, nor anywhere else where I park that I am loosing oil???? Can you help me?

We had the alternator and the starter checked,both are fine. We replaced the battery and it will start for a short time and then the check engine light comes on and now the security light also comes on. When I get someone to jump start it, it is just like the battery has been disconnected. We had the car to Auto Zone and had the check engine light checked and they said it was the O2 sensor, but that that would not make the car not want to start. Please Help!

I know the true cost to own is only a guide. Now that my car search is focused on two models (The 2005-2006 Acura TSX or 2006 VW Passat) i am unsure of how to compare the "Repairs" estimate between the two. I am unclear how, over 5 years, the VW (with low reliability ratings) can have less repair costs than the Acura, with a very reliable rating.

I have an 05 Silverado with a rattle in what sounds like the front shock absorber. It looks perfect but rattles badly and is getting worse. I'm told there may a TSB regarding a shock absorber busing which may fix this problem but have not been able to locate it. I'm told replacing the shock absorber will NOT help.

'00 Pontiac Montana, passenger side window - I replaced the motor but the clips that hold it in broke and eventually the posts so the motor will not stay down, appears as though it needs a whole new plastic piece on the interior of the door.
