I just wanted to know if there was some kind of chip that i can remove that would make the car not start. Almost like an anti-theft method, cuz i heard from one of my friends, that he removes the fuel injection chip from his civic. And if so where is that chip located?

3 years later find new tires don't match. 2000 Toyota Celica. 3 of 4 are 205/50/16. One is 205/55/16. Can it hurt?

I was forced to buy new tires from this place because only they, it seemed would give me credit.. It's been probably 3 years and I just noticed one of my very pricy tires is not like the others. My question is, could this or has this wounded my car in some way. Can I go back to the sorry underhanded joint that hustled me in the first place and demand recourse, or does something they likely figured I would never notice (I am female) go unpunished. As noted 2000 Toyota Celica GT, stock wheels were 15's, got the GTS 16's, the "big" tire 205/55/16 has been on the passenger front the rest are all 205/50/16. I have recently noticed a blemish on the passenger rear. the tires have seemed to be fine thus far however if this can or has hurt my car I would greatly appreciate such knowledge.
Sincerely Stephanie Atl. Ga.

I have replaced master cylinder, brake lines, caliper and brakes. The car will drive fine for a while about 10 to 15 min. after using brakes several times, the right front brake locks up and drags. If you let the car cool down about 20 min. you can drive again until you use brake too much and it locks up again. My mechanic is stumped, please help?

What would cause a replaced front brake system on 95 Toyota Celica to not hold pressure, but they worked fine before?

New pads, rotors and calipers. Pads and calipers are stock, but rotors are drilled and slotted. Bled the brakes with over a quart of fulid. The first pump every time goes to the floor, but pressure will eventually build and the brakes grab. Everything worked fine before changing the parts, but now the brakes go to the floor unless you pump them while driving.

My daughter has a 2002 Toyota Celica GT. Lately, it stalls (sometimes) on takeoff. It doesn't die, it just won't go for 10-15 seconds. There are no trouble codes. We tried replacing the spark plugs, air filter, transmission filter, throttle sensor but it didn't work.

We took it to precision tune and told them the problems and what we had done (the trouble codes and throttle sensor and the rest) and they said they probably couldn't do anymore than we had. There is no miss, transmission is not slipping it just seems as if it is not getting gas. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have an 03 Celica GT-S. I just had the Cam Gear assembly and timing chain replaced and now the car dies almost every time I come to a stop. The service tech said he cannot adjust the idle. It worked fine before the repair was made. The tech says he only removed 2 vacume hoses and replaced them both. He said it was maybe the IAC Idle control valve, but as I said it worked fine before I took it to the shop. Would replacing the Cam gear assembly and timing chain cause the IAC to act differently?

Engine light has come on. Car serviced but no effect. Mechanic advised possible sensor problem. Cost $800.00 to fix. Can someone tell me what the problem is and how it might be fixed? Also mechanic stated that car can be driven without damaging the engine. Is this correct?

94 Toyota Celica won't run after replacing clutch fork.

I have a 94 Toyota Celica. We removed the transmission to replace the clutch fork and the throw out bearing. The car was running and driving fine before hand. Once we reassembled all said pieces the car doesn't want to run. We have confirmed that we are getting gas and spark in all the right places. But still have nothing. We're thinking that possibly there is a sensor lose/malfunctioning the only one that we saw broke was the O2 sensor which is now new and still no dice. Any ideas? Timing belt appears fine.

1992 Toyota Celica high beams and fog lamps do not work. Shortly before alternator went bad. Replaced but lights still bad.

Checked fuses - appear OK. Looked in Hayes wiring manual - no luck. Could it be the Headlight relay? High Beam indicator comes on but no high beam. Fog lamps no longer work either. Alternator was bad and I replaced it. Now plenty of juice and no longer alt warning light. Yet still no high beam and fog lamps. Hope there is a fuse somewhere that blew. 15A headlight fuses in Block 2 panel appear OK. Low Beams work fine. Both Headlights replaced after Christmas have worked fine until the alternator started acting up within the past 2 weeks. Appears some common relation between fog lamps and high beams could be problem.

03 Toyota Celica GT-S. Resetting the computer and error codes?

I have a 2003 Celica GT-S, just purchased. Failed emissions test in Texas. Says, fault code: P0016 Crankshaft Position-Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1 Sensor A... Also the Catalyst, Evap, and 02 sensor all said "not ready".
Also, the "engine check light" is disabled somehow, i.e. it does not light at all. Is it possible to reset the cpu so the codes will clear in case this is just a faulty reading?
Also, this engine was taken from a salvaged vehicle and put into this car. I don't know what components were kept from the original engine or which ones were changed. Is it possible that could have something to do with the error codes? thanks, rich

03 Toyota Celica Not Ready Lights reset.

I have an 03 Celica GT-S that is showing 3 "not readys" in the Texas State emissions test. It won't pass the inspection without these "not readys" being cleared. I've tried different suggestions for drive cycles and nothing has worked so far.

The "not readys" are the evap, the catalytic converter, and the O2 sensor. Does anyone know how to correctly reset the cpu on this car and run it through the "drive cycle" to clear these not readys?

Also, the car has a "performance air intake" installed. I bought the car from CT and the engine was from a car in Oregon where they may have had different emission standards. Does the Performance intake effect these sensors i.e. not ready codes?
