2002 Jetta TDI fuses - which is which????

My radio wouldn't turn on this morning. The first thing I wanted to check was the fuse. I looked at the "fuse card", but can't tell from that which fuse is for the sound system. Any idea where I might be able to get that information?? Thanks.

I have a 99 VW Jetta 2.0 and the brake pedal keeps turning on the rear lights.

2000 VW Jetta VR6 emission light keeps coming on and staying on and there isn't an emissions problem. I've had my service company repair the computer to only have it do it again. Is there a code I can use to trip the computer and clear it myself without a diagnostics computer?

How do I know if my car have an oil pan sensor in the pan w/o removing the oil pan? Car is a 2000 VW Jetta VR6.

My car need another oil pan. The present one have a big hole in it. When checking on purchasing an oil pan, they need to know if the oil pan have an oil pan sensor. I guess they are talking about a temp sensor.

Today, My 2001 VW Jetta GLS (automatic) was stopped at a stoplight. It was sputtering...the RPMs dropped to about 5 every 5 seconds or so...Once the light turned green..The check engine light came on and I pulled over to park. This sputtering/ hard idling wasn't happening in park..only when it was in drive and when i had the brake pressed....any ideas what this is? was i descriptive enough?

The power steering reservoir in my 1998 VW Jetta TDI got a gash in it.What could have caused this?

I started my car one morning (it had made a funny noise the day before upon starting, so I left it be) and the power steering wasn't working. I got out and found that the P.S. fluid was draining steadily from the reservoir. When it all drained, I took the reservoir out and found a gash on the bottom edge of it. I am waiting on a replacement part, but wonder if the gash may have been caused by a part that's out of wack in the car? Has this ever happened before?

I want to put (and have just purchased) 2 subwoofers to add to my Jetta's audio system. I have also bought a 1,000 watt amp that should be adequate to power these subs. However I'm not sure if I need to replace the deck (I believe i do). If I do it shouldn't be a problem, but how much should I expect to pay for installation of the subs/amp/deck?

The brakes make horribly loud noise when I apply the brakes. I have had it looked at at several places. I was told nothing is wrong with the brakes or the rotors and that it's something I'll just have to live with. I can't accept that! I did have the brakes replaced anyway just to see if that would fix it -- it didn't. Any suggestions???

Got a 99 VW Jetta. Where is the idle air control valve located? Thanks in advance.

I currently have a set of Continental Extreme Contact tires on my '03 Jetta, which has performed well & exceeded the mileage warranty (40K mile warranty, 77K miles on car). The tread is down to 4/32 so I need to get them replaced asap, as winter is here in Chicago ... wondering if I should go with the same?..or if there is a better All-season option (without costing a small fortune). Looking at a 2005 VW Jetta, know nothing about them. When the car starts a light comes on looks like a pedal and foot. When you put your foot on the brake it goes off. My girlfriend has a 01 jetta tdi the car has no power at all removed al cac piping and checked for leaks none present.Removed charge air cooler and tested no leaks just feels like it is not getting any boost vehicle has over 150,000 miles on it and i do not know of any service that has been done to it. I inspected turbo no visible damage to fins does not appear to be passing oil thru it as well....currently the car is a death trap if you try to pull out in traffic any help would be great...

We just bought our first VW. The RPMs seem to be high cruise set around 70MPH on flat road and RMPs exceed 3000. This is a 2004 Jetta, 39000 miles, 2.0 L, Automatic P,R,N,D,3,2,1. Is these RPMs normal?

There are no exhaust leaks, could this be because of a dirty MAF sensor? If I replace the O2 sensors would that change anything? It also backfires most of the time under deceleration.

What size 12 point bit do I need to get the rotors off of an 07 VW Jetta? I tried a 12mm and it was too small.

I was trying to change the rotors and rear pads on a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, and was told it would take a 12mm 12 point bit or a 14 mm. Neither one would work, 12 was too small, and 14 too big, so I assumed it was a 13 mm but I cannot find one and I refuse to take it to the dealer where he will rip me off doing something I can do myself. Any help as to where I can find one?

Here are the problems:

windows/ doorlocks don't work
stereo doesn't work
moonroof doesn't work
cruise control or any buttons on steering wheel don't work
trunk release doesn't work
And...no horn.

Thats all I have figured out so far. I didnt check A/C or heat yet.

I must say that my husband tried installing a new stereo for me after the stock deck died. He just may have screwed something up. Any ideas on this? Any info would be appreciated.

Replacing Michelin Energy MXV4 S8 tires which had about 45k last winter and were not good in the snow or on any kind of incline.

I need to know which way the arrow points on the cam bearing caps. If the #'s are read from the exhaust side the arrows point to the tranny (back) side of engine. Anywhere else I get pics and info on the MK4's?

2006 VW Jetta 2.5 L 5 cylinder. ABS. Stability control. Started at 75000 km with rock hard brake pedal (when parked or in stop & go traffic) and hissing noise and no stopping power at all. Dealer brake services in Dec/08, June/09, Oct/09 and finally towed in Nov 6/09 (and in the shop since then), fixed nothing.

They have no idea (although in Oct they said a hose was loose -they didn't put it on the invoice and now say it was fine) and VW Canada is silent on the matter. I see lots of internet stuff about brake booster failures in the old Jettas? Could this be re-surfacing? I get the feeling the dealer and VW are just playing me. Any ideas?

My 01 Jetta makes this humming sound when I'm driiving. It's quiet when just sitting at a red light idling. When I drive, the sound increases and decreases depending on how fast I'm giong, but the sound doesn't go away if I take my foot off the gas and coast. SEems to be shifting fine. I'm wondering if the catalytic converter is stopped up?

Beeping hard to pinpoint. No icons displayed on dashboard, happens randomly. Radio working fine, no problem with it. Makes same beeping sound that radio makes when switching from FM to AM or reverse.

i have 97 5-sp. stick jetta gl. so far it's been pretty reliable. Now has 121K miles on it, and I changed jobs so now I have a 100-mile daily, mostly freeway, commute. This car needs to last. I change oil/filter every 3-4000 miles, keep an eye on tires, check fluids etc, and take it in for a tune up ever 30K (eg, 60K, 90K 120K). but what about in between? there's nothing in my manual bout changing fuel or air filter,s or plugs, wires, cap and rotor? timing belt I'm told by mechanics can go 80K miles, (I always thought 60K max). I don't want to dump tons of money into this car,, just treat it nice and keep it running. I'm a pretty smooth, careful driver, and trying to maximize fuel economy and wwear and tear (still getting around 28-30mpg).
any tips?

2003 Jetta 1.8L Turbo radio display is on and shows FM 88.1. Cannot select other stations and there is no sound.
