'88 Trooper stalls while driving. Replaced fuel pump & filter. Still stalls.

While driving the "check engine " light comes on. When I push in the clutch coasting to a stop all of the warning lights come on. Engine starts again after 2 mins, 5 mins, 30 mins, 2 hours. Runs for 2 to 13 miles and stalls again. Fuel pump and filter have been replaced with no better drivability.

"gets hot" means the temp. gauge. the engine will still start up but will run rough .

if you are on the road and you can floor it for a little bit it will come out of it. when it does you will feel it . it's like it gets an extra boost of fuel and then it runs like nothing ever happend.

Hi, my 1991 cosica starts and runs great but after awhile the temp gauge will go high and it will start running real rough. if you can floor it for a little bit it will come out of it, if you have to stop it will stall. the engine will start back up but will run rough,if you put it in gear it will stall.after it sits for about 15 min. you can get it in gear and go but it is still rough 'till you floor it,then it seems to get a burst of fuel and goes like nothing ever happened . Thanks for any help you can give.

My 95 5.7L misses in gear at idle (Auto trans). Off idle is fine no problems. I checked the resistance of the IAC and it is within the tolerences specified in my repair manual. Jumpered the ADL connection and flashed for codes. No codes other than the code 12 handshake. Two weeks prior to this problem starting I had to remove the intake manifold to remove a very corroded and busted heater hose connection at the rear of the manifold. At that time I also replaced, plugs,wires,cap and rotor. Engine ran fine until the idle miss appeared. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

i have replaced the o2 sensor and spark plugs. computer reads clean. it will stall then after sitting a few minutes restart and drive for awhile before stalling again. This is my only means of transportation, thanks for any help-

hi i cleaned the MAF sensor which is about 1 yr old. i haven't driven it long enough to see if it dies out yet, but now i have loss of power. it act like its got a rpm limiter on it. it does not rev up. also is it normal for it to run bad when the air filter hose is remover from the T/B

Sometimes engine goes off when I have to stop in traffic with transmission in drive mode. Three days after engine went off while idling during engine warming in the house. The vehicle is normally used once a week. What could be going wrong?

Engine idles ok in neutral and reverse. In drive it wants to stall. What should I be looking at to repair? 90 Ford Probe.

when i hit gas easy will accelerate but hit gas hard lose all momentum changed spark plugs , fuel pump and filter,and cat converter

I have a 1994. When under a load (i.e. brake on in gear, push down gas pedal) the engine misses.

125,000 miles Misses especially in Overdrive. Have replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, cylinder compression good, coil modules tested including plate within tolerance range. What am I missing? check engine light comes on when in overdrive.

My car is making a horrible noise, anyone know what the problem is?

A couple weeks ago, I started to notice that when my car would idle, it would feel as if it were going to stall. When I felt this happen, I pressed the gas to keep the rpms at reasonable level. I decided to see what happens if I just let it run, well it stalled, and ever since then it is making this horrible noise when I try to turn it over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My GMC keeps throwing up codes; running lean.

I put it on a computer It comes up bank 2 sensor too lean. I cleared the code and it ran fine for a little bit. Now it's back to acting up.

When I jump on the throttle it just dies and some times comes to a complete stop when idling I replaced the o2 sensors in Dec. So I'm finding it hard that they are bad already. Can anyone please help?

On my 2000 Saab 9-5, where is the crankshaft position sensor located?

I got the answer for the diagnosis for stalling. They said it was the crankshaft position sensor. Where is this located next to? On the left side or right side of engine or somewhere else?

I lose power when I step on the gas and sometimes it just shuts off. It also feels like it chokes. What could it be?

i have timed it 10 times can not solve problem it is tdc rotar bug at number one piston all the way up still the same way

Jeep will start in moring and will run for about 10 to 15 minutes then it justs dies before it will start again it has to set a few hour sometime it starts right up any ideas what it might be doing it for over a year getting really bad.

the car feels like it has an anchor on it. no power, feels like it is backed up and doesn't have proper exhaust. you can floor it and maybe get to 70 mph.

1996 Lincoln--I'm getting water in the intake manifold and the air filter is wet and the air box has water in it.

My 1996 lincoln started running rough and then shut off. After looking the engine compartment over I noticed water in the air box and the air filter was wet. After the engine cooled off I was able to start the car and drove it almost home. After towing it home I removed the manifold and it had water in it. The gasket and surfaces appear to be good. Any ideas where the water is coming from?

Restricted performance has come up on the dash info area. The car runs perfect up until 3000 rpm when it cuts out. Jaguar Vanden Plas.

Sometimes when im driving my 1998 polo 1.6,the car starts jolting,like the car has hiccups or something.On other occasions ill be driving along and the car will sort of stop accelerating,so i hav to take my foot off the accelerator,leave it a second and then put my foot back on it and it will accelerate,but this will keep happening.is it possible for this to be the ignition coil,i thought it could be but you will know alot mor than me on this,please someone put me out my misery.thanks

I have a chevy 350 the motor has new heads & everything else is fine,i checked the timing chain & dot 2 dot the chain is very loose can this cause a problem with the motor not getting any rpms it idles fine when i give it throttle it starts to run rough,the carb is stock & sprays the same on both sides,i get no back fire,valves are set.Can someone please tell me what the points & timing should be set at.

My car just stopped working on a rainy day. What could be the problem?

this skyline engine cuts out for no apparent reason, loose power steering and brakes had a few close calls, put into neutral and start, kicks in ok have had the battery and leads checked, and the sensors checked replace airflow meter only with secondhand one, has been put on a machine at the garage someone said to check the earth from engine or chassis i think! also when this happens have had the dash lights and gauges playing up, has cost a lot of money but goes for awhile then the same problem all over again is becoming a dangerous vehicle to drive any suggestions would be very grateful thanks

I was driving home one evening and my car began to stall at a stop light and a funny looking light came on. And every time I stopped I would have to mash on the gas to get it to go. So I had my son look it up in the cars manual and it stated that the light is a malfunction indicator and that the catalytic converter could possibly need to be replaced and that driving it when the light is on could result in loss of engine power. I was 45 min. away from home and once I got home and pulled my car into my garage I smelled gas. Could this be the problem?

I have a Saturn 2001 L Series. I went and got my oil changed about a month ago and when I left I started having problems. Most of my dash lights don't work so it does not tell me what to check.

It started with a weird humming noise under my car and now it's not even driving. I can start my car and idle but if I try to drive it only goes 10 miles per hour and then dies shortly after I start driving it.

We hooked it up to a computer and it says that there is something wrong with my security system. I have no idea what the security system would have to do with my car dying.

I don't know what's wrong and would like some help in trying new things to fix it. Please help if you can.

No problem at cruise. Idles ok in park. Go to drive or reverse and the engine wants to stall unless I hold the throttle.

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with a 5.3 automatic. It started shuttering at red lights but not every time. When I put it into neutral it stops. I changed the fuel filter, plugs and wires but it still does it. Nothing shows up on the code reader at AutoZone and there's no check engine light coming on. Just this week it has stalled twice on me while driving around - not sitting at a light. Any suggestions on what to check next?

this car runs GREAT when running but just stops while driving. can be interstate at 55 or in town at 30 - 40 - 45. just like someone cuts off fuel to it. sometimes will refire immediately most of the time not. wait anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours but will restart and run. am totally baffled. service tech with Ford for over 20 years. can't figure this out. would appreciate ANY input.

the engine surges from 400rpm to 1600 rpm and then runs for 45 seconds to a minute and a half then dies right out. ive changed throttle positioning sensor, plugs, and wires. its been to a dealership, muffler shop and two automotives and they cant figure it out. dealership said change the head gasket but would that cause that?? i dont think ti would but maybe...
