I purchased a used car and am considering purchasing an extended warranty?
I am very interested in a company called Warranty Administration Services.
I've been offered the Driver's Choice Plan for $1198. They have the options of a 3year/ unlimited miles contract or a 5year / 150,000 additional and even a 7year/ 100,000 miles contract = ALL for the same price. Does anyone have this warranty? Anyone know anything about the company? I was referred to them by a broker who emailed me the contract for review before I decide to purchase.

What are some of the reputable extended warranty companies available on the web?

I posted on the extended warranty forum but that hasn't seen any activity in a while. I'd like to get an extended warranty for my 5-series which has approx 46k miles on it and is nearing the end of its factory warranty. Any opinions on warranty direct, aa auto warranty would be appreciated.

I bought a truck and the Finance manager sat down and told me about this extended warranty from a company called Fidelity that they sell. He stated if I did not use this policy I would get my 2450.00 back after 60 months. I bit and rolled it into the deal. I tried to read it at the paper signing but it was long and complicated. At any rate I took this policy home & read it and no where in the wording did I see anything about getting my money back. The next day I took it back and cancelled it. I would have taken the truck back if I could have just to stick it to them. They also gave me the the line I had a 48 hour cooling off period to back out of the deal which I found out when I went back to them is not true. I feel I got a good buy on the truck but the deal with the warranty really soured me. They said the language was in my Fidelity warranty contract and they would email me to prove it. Why did they not just show me on the spot?
No email after 5 days. This is why car dealers are generally known as smucks lairs & cheats.

Signed the contract last night after 7 hours of going back and forth (they didn't honor the price given via email, surprise surprise, even though every detail was clearly written). It was late, I reviewed the contract, but apparently not though closely because this morning I noticed they had checked "AS IS - NO WARRANTY". This is for a NEW car that is being ordered/transferred from another dealer. Would it be possible that they were trying to pull some sort of trick and I really do not have the manufacturer's warranty or could this have been a mistake on their part since we were all so tired?

Both manager and salesman is off today so I have to wait until tomorrow, but just wanted to go ahead and get some thoughts.

Does anyone have RV PRO Care extended warranty out there? I am having issues with a claim.

I recently purchased a use 1997 Southwind motor home with 46,500 miles on it I drove it for 700 miles & the transmission failed. I followed the procedure & reported this I took it to a Certified Specialist (national chain) I cant get the Pro Care people to come out & look @ it 10 day's has gone by & all we get is there will be some one there tomorrow I'm asking is this the way they operate Because it stinks.

We bought a new fit and were offered a $1600 plan for bumper to bumper care, running concurrent with manufacturer's warranty, and up to 6 years or 80,000 miles. It covers many items not covered by warranty, as well as towing, rental, hotel, gas delivery and other costs associated with breakdowns, with a zero deductible. Is this a good deal?

I there a consumer law that requires extended warranties to be prorated when you cancel?

I was quoted one price and received my contract for $1,900.00 higher than what I was quoted for my 2004 XC90 volvo. The person who sold me the warranty is on leave of absence.

I could not get anywhere with the manager who assures me that I could not have been getting the top of the line package for $2,097.00.

I already cancelled my contract with continental because first National/Mercury ins quoted me a price of $2,097.00 & my mechanic is familiar with First National. Should I cancel this contract as well?

Bought the extended warranty thru the Toyota dealership. I have two months to change my mind and get my money back now. Toyota's warranty covers the first 3 yrs./36,000, then the extended warranty takes over. Dealership swears they refund any unused portion of the $1797 at the end of the 7 yrs./100,000 mls. They're a reputable dealership.

Will the original manfacturer warranty be transfered to me after the seller transfers his title to my name? Nissan Maxima

I recently bought got my '08 Honda Fit Sport AT my parents bought the extended warranty (96 month, 120k miles) for about $1053. Is this worth it because there seems to be some limitations like this one. "Contract exclusion #8. Any mechanical breakdown or damage resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, collision or upset, fire or smoke, theft or attempted theft, vandalism, riot or civil commotion, explosion, logjtemomg, earthquakes, freezing, rust or corrosion, windostorm, hail, water or flood, acts of god, salt, enviromental and road hazard damage, chemical, nuclear incident, or acts of war". When I bought my "new" Volvo from a Mitsubishi dealership, I assumed it still had full factory warranty, because it was way under Volvo's 4yr/50K mile limits. Unfortunately, I later discovered that the actions of the first owner had somehow prompted Volvo Corporate to partially void the new car warranty (fuel system components).

Three questions: (1) what can I do to restore the warranty -- Volvo says, "nothing can change the status." (2) do I have any legal rights concerning the non-disclosure of the partially voided warranty? and, (3) what are MY legal obligations when I go to sell the car later on?

Thanks for any advice or feedback! BTW: The car and I are in California.

I have about 53,500 miles on my car - have had no major problems with it. My factory warranty ended last week. I got a notice in the mail from Automotive warranty advisors (out of Pompano, FL) advising me to call for a quote. When I called they offered a 100,000 mile extended warranty for $3,150, payable in full or over 18 months with $300 down and $157.50 per month payments. It allows taking the car to a dealer or a machanic of my choice (as long as the machanic is certified), zero deductible, transferable.

I have a 2007 impaula that is in the shop as we speak.We thought that it was bad gas but, the insurance paid for them to replace the tank,injectors,fuel pump,and everything else that they could think of.Then they checked the oil pan and the same trash was there that was all in the injectors, it was some little black things that looked like something had burned.Which they say that it had to be from when they build the motor.So the say i will need to get in touch with general motors to see if they are going to replace the motor under the warrantie and they are coming up with all kinds of stuff.

If you buy a new Honda, do they require that you get Honda service to maintain the warranty? If so, are they expensive.

Ford sells four types of extended service plans -- Premium, Base, Extra and Powertrain -- that are available for up to seven years. What do these plans cover that is not already included in the standard basic warranty (3 years / 36,000 miles)?

Anything covered in the standard basic warranty that is not covered by an ESP?

Also, are the plans cumulative? Does the Extra plan cover everything in the Powertrain plan plus xx more components/parts? Does the Premium plan cover everthing in the Base plan plus xx more components/parts, and so on.

Aside from the "peace of mind" benefit the company touts, are there any cost savings in the long run for the seven-year plans? (Assuming that the older a vehicle gets, the more likely it is to need service.)

I intend on having the car at least 5 years, and probably closer to 10 years. The manufacturer's bumper-to-bumper extended warranty is called Gold Preferred and goes for up to 7 years and 100,000 miles with 1800 parts covered including electical. Wear and tear to parts not covered.

Dealer wants to charge $1200 and I believe the cost is actually more like $750.

I've heard opinions both ways and am having a tough time deciding what to do...
