I just had an engine replaced as the other one burned out a cylinder. The Check engine light kept coming on and we traced that down to an O2 sensor. But both engine fans are blowing all the time. Even as soon I put the key in the ignition before starting, the fans come on. They both stay on all the time. It is not affecting any performance but it does concern me. Does anyone know how to fix this?

What will I get myself into if I decide to replace the HVAC blower motor on my 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora?

When I returned to the car this evening the fan started with a loud (speed was on high) bass, drumming, vibrating noise. I haven't removed the fan from the vehicle as I was wondering what was the best procedure to follow? All of the plastic panel underneath the dash appear to be tight and are not contributing to the noise. I have had other electronic equipment fan motors lose a pole within the motor and they would sometimes develope a druming vibrating noise. I am not sure if this fan is causing this or if there is something else that could cause this. I have already checked the cabin air filter to make sure that this was not causing the problem.

Heater/blower fan on my 2001 BMW 330I intermittently blows high regardless of the number of bars selected. Advice?

I have a climate-control system on my '01 330I. The heater/blower fan works well for the first 15 or so min. after starting the car from a cold state, but then blows at its highest setting regardless of the number of bars on the fan control whether selected manually or automatically by the Climate-control system. The number of bars doesn't change, but the blower motor blows hard as though the highest setting were selected. The fan returns to normal intensity (reflecting the number of bars selected) after a couple of minutes, and repeats that cycle randomly thereafter.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I own a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer that has had what appears to be a fan clutch problem for the past three years and I've heard outrageous quotes as far as repair cost go. This seems to be a widespread issue with many GM owners - Trailblazers and Envoy specifically. Why hasn't GM taken any action on this issue? Or have they? Should this really be an out-of-pocket expense when it is clearly a faulty part?

2003 GMC Yukon XL , the front climate control fan doesn't blow any air, under any setting (heat/def/ etc.)except occasionally. The digital display shows that all is well, but there is no air except a faint breeze when underway. The rear HVAC system is fully functional. The front system still has cool air, so I know the compressor is still doing its job. HELP keep me away from the dealership. Truck has had 78,000 relatively trouble free miles. Thanks so much, OtisK

Blower fan not getting power. Pulled motor and fan was hard to turn. Sprayed WD-40 on shaft and fan seemed to free up. Checked power to fan with ignition on and found no power. My first thought is it has a blown fuse. I have checked fuse box under hood and inside, none are labeled front fan. Is there another location for a fuse besides the obvious fuse boxes. Thanks

i have a 2001 passat and the radiator cooling fan does not work. the temperature light keeps coming on and the display says to 'stop, check coolant' but the coolant level is full and i always fill it to the top because of that message. i checked the fuse to see if it was blown it's not. short of replacing the fan i dont know what i should do. i'm not sure if i should take it to the dealership or a garage to replace the fan. i'm not sure if it's the fan or something minor that i myself could fix instead of having to pay a huge price. if anyone have any suggestion that could help me i would appreciate it. thank you very much!

my 93 honda civic would keep overheating. then my radiator got a leak in it so we got a new radiator and put it in . then i come to realize maybe the reason the raditor blew and the car kept overheating was because the fan isnt working..... is the fan and heater conected to the same thing? and if it is what is it that needs to be replaced. cuz the fan and heater both dont work...... maybe thats why the car overheats..??? the heater comes on every blue moon.. lol.. im confused if someone knows whats going on will you answer the question..hah thanks

My car is an '93 Olds Ninety-eight Regency Elite. The car seems to be overheating. We checked the thermostat, but it looks pretty good. The car is definitely getting coolant. While we were under the hood with the car running we noticed that the fans in front of the radiator weren't spinning. If that's the problem will it be hard and expensive to fix or could there be a fuse out that controls the fans?

Hi. Which hose is heater core intake on 1982 VW Scirocco? Top? Bottom? Thank you.

1982 vw scirrocco overheats excessively. Just purchased it from "auto mech instructor", said have to keep heater on, or heater stays on all the time, on low, and that we could install some type of valve for winter/summer use. He also had a clamp on one of the hoses that I believe was assisting in prevention of overheating. Anyhow, we keep heater on low, we keep radiator full, but have to fill atleast two times daily, and we had to hot-wire radiator fan for in-city use and vehicle STILL getting hot, and I mean temp gauge at top and red light on. Please, please help if you can. Thank you so much.
Chris & Talis, Sacramento, CA

The condenser is cold just waiting for the blower to kick on and cool the van.

There are 2 switches on the dash for rear AC but nothing happens when I move them. There are 2 relays under the hood (3 but one is for the front). I just want to make sure the rear blower is good before messing with the relays. I ran a jumper wire from the batter back to it, but no matter which pin I applied it to nothing happened.

I have a 1996 VW Jetta. The heater blower works fine on speed settings 1, 2 and 3, but will only run for about 2 minutes on setting 4, then it wont work on any setting. I take the car on short trips so I don't how longit takes to reset, but it always works after the car sits and I restart the car. It's like a thermal overload is tropping out and resets after cool down. I've replaced the blower motor and resister twice to no avail. The dealer is also stumped. What else is in the circuit that is causing the problem?
I told them no all were bad. needless to say I lost that fight...I went 12 miles over my rotation time and took in to them and told them I went over because i was on vacation and they said too bad. 3 weeks ago the fans that supposedly cool the truck got super loud...I took it in and they said nope thats the way they sound. Told them been driving the vehichle for a year and thats not the way it sounds. Took a 1400 mile trip after they said no problems with the fan. they did an oil change and rotated they BAD tires, low and behold my tahoe over heats. Take it back in yesterday and they still insist in is not a fan problem that there was a hole in the exhause...Well jeepers thats not going to make the truck over heat...Called GM corp...haven't gotten anywhere yet but I plan to get this stuff fixed. 9th chevy we've owned first problem

I have a 1997 Accord. Lately the fan has been making a lot of noise. When Im in traffic idling it sounds worse. When I turn the A/C on it gets louder. Anybody know how intricate it would be to do yourself or should I go to a mechanic.?

As I went to park today I noticed a bad vibration from the steering wheel. I let sit for an hour came back started it 20 miles down the road it started vibrating again, I pulled over looked under the hood and found the fan shroud was vibrating just as bad. I let it cool down again and no vibration, I noticed the eletric fan was not on.

Thanks. I did check fuse ok. When it intermittently works it will work in any position. I noticed someone had a ?? same thing with an 01 will try that answer also. They also suggested checking wiring from blower to some connector in right kick panel
