I bought an engine from an engine broker who deals in cores and auto parts. Engine should be about a 2000 454. "High Performance" is stamped on the pushrod guides. A bar code on engine is 10FCZ T906300455. Can you tell me what I have?

Is there a non-Rover engine/gearbox that fits the 400 series with minimum alterations?

It is only the motor that i have. I put the motor in a rail buggy. I would also like to know what would be the best dual carb kit to put on this motor that is not too outrageous in price.

I have a Winters aluminum GM V8 intake manifold with a casting number of 14101074. I don't find a date code anywhere on it. Can you please tell me what motor this is for as well as what different years, if more than one?? If you are unfamiliar with this type of cross reference number search can you please provide me with a website where I can cross reference that number myself. Maybe an online book or website would help greatly. I have spent over an hour in GM, Jeeves & Google sites and come up knowing as just much as before I started searching, which is a big fat zero. I'm pretty sure it's for a small block Chevy, but I wouldn't bet on it. Thanks for your time & help.

The 1991 350 is a AC Delco crate engine with only about 16,000 miles on it. The turbo 400 tranny was rebuilt locally about 8,000 miles ago. I know I am giving up overdrive gear. Just looking to get this "wood hauler" back on the road.

Chevy 6 liter. Question about the aluminum shields that go around the spark plug wires.

my concern is the clearance for the exhaust as well as head clearance for for the vacuum booster for the brakes, and perhaps the air cleaner not hitting the hood.

From talking to people the '76 400 only put out 190hp, the '68 developed about 325hp. I'm looking to bump it up to at least the 300 mark with out a $10,000 investment using OEM stuff.

So Ive got a 97 cadillac deville concours with 170k that I bought less than a year ago for $5000. I just found out that my headgaskets blown last week, I took it to an independant mechanic and the dealership and they both said the same thing. Apparently a new engine is the only practical option since replacing the heads would cost too much compared to a new engine.
I found a rebuilt one from US Engines of Kent, WA for $2995 but the reaction I got from my mechanic about the company is making me think twice. He recommends Jasper Engines, normally Id listen to him but one from them costs $5400 for the engine alone, I cant really justify spending more on the engine than the car though. Does anyone have any feedback about US Engines positive or Negative?

Can I pull just the engine and leave the rest in place or must I pull the clutch assembly, trans etc. with it? If I can pull just the engine, how do I disconnect it from the rest of the drive train? If I have to pull more than the engine, what, where & how do I disconnect the transmission, etc? I have a 2006 Ford Freestyle. It needs a new engine. Long story. It is out of warranty. Dealer claims $6000 is best they can do. Claims that it takes 25 hrs of labor. Can anyone tell me if $6000 is out of line? Can i do better than this? I cannot afford $6000, nor can i sell it, i am upside down.

I've recently installed a B16 vtec head to by Ls block not to long ago and the RPM was in the 3k, then it goes up and down when I'm sitting at the light. I later found that the vacum hose was loose and fixed that problem and also adjusted the throttle. The RPM now set on 1 1/2 RPM but now I have another problem. When starting the car, it crank too long to start the whole car. It takes about 5.5 second to start and my vtec does not kick in at all. I took my car for a spin and runs the RPM to determind when the vtec should kick in but did not feel or hear any changes but notice that the needle on the RPM continue to climb passing the 8k RPM. I have all the major components. So what could be the possible reason why my vtec in not kicking in.

Thank you for all of your advice. The car is in beautiful shape besides the engine, so I think I am going to take your advice and look for another 2.5 engine that has had the head gaskets replaced. My only other question is, should I only be looking for a 98 engine, or were there other years of outbacks with the same 2.5 that would be put in just as easy? Thanks again

hey everyone,im doin an engine swap from a 96 rs 2.2 4-speed auto to a 97 rs 2.2 3-speed auto car. does anyone know what all is involved in doin the swap,as far as electronics and shifter linkage type stuff. whould it be easier or better to change transmissions on the motors? im not sure the 3 speed trans is good.i have both cars side by side.

My 1986 300Z is a cherry, and had ony 120K miles on it before blowing a rod. I have found a wrecked 2004 350ZX with reportedly 25K miles, which I can pick for cheap. Will the transition to my '86 link up well? Is there anything I should look out for, other than the REAL condition of the 350?

I have an 85 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and plan on restoring it and upgrading the engine but keep it a v-6.
