RePCM on Mazda Miata 2000 PCM that should be replaced, more info.

The code is P1562. The battery was being jumped and the terminals were crossed, resulting with the 80amp fuse needing to be replaced, (please don't laugh). I replace the fuse and the car runs good, but the engine light is on. I took the car to a garage and they could not reset the pcm, and told me that it should be replaced. My question is can I run the car like this or will I damage something ? Also we are talking around $800.00
to replace the pcm. Can I do better on price as Auto Zone could not supply me with a replacement, or is this a dealer only repair?

The condition is intermittent. Also the right speaker in the driver's side door has sound sometimes and sometimes not. I think I have a poor plug connection somewhere... Your thoughts.

I have 1991 GMC Jimmy 4.3l. The digital instrument lights seem to have shorted out. Also heat and wipers come on and go off.

The wipers dont work all the time. Replaced wiper motor.Washer fluid motor stuck on at all times. Replaced both washer motors on fluid reservoir, the heater also works on a short circuit, put on new blower motor.

Instrument panel flashed on once since I've had this problem and has not come back on the horn is not working either. All fuses are good. I just cannot find the bad ground. I sure hope you have the input I need. Thank you so much looking forward to hearing from you.

Stopped working sometime back. Have installed different transaxle since then. When I had the codes cleared-showed malfuctioning crank sensor. Was told, shouldn't be the problem. Sensor was replaced a year earlier

there isn't any power to the control panel,lost the maintenence book,so don't know where to look for the fuse,when control panel stopped working the heat was on,now can't turn it off,adjust it or use the ac,like I said can not do anything with the climate control

One day I started my 03 civic, drove it for a while (5-10 mins), before I realized that the console didn't work: the speedometer, tachometer, temp, and fuel gauge needles didn't move. However, the car ran well. I freaked out. I stopped the car in a parking lot, shutdown the car, waited for a minute, and turn it on again. The problem went away, and I've never had that problem again. Anybody has had this?

Will a 88 Toyota Corolla LE instrument cluster connect into an 88 Corolla DLX?

the insrument cluster in the Corolla DLX (Delux?) is very simple. I have an opportunity to get one from a LE model that has a tach and is better looking. I know the new cluster will fit in the dash but do not know if the connections will fit. Any Toyota experts out there?? Is there an online resource possibly.

Display started fading after an aftermarket remote starter was installed, they said that had nothing to do with it. Is there a fix for brightneing the display?

My 2005 Aztek shows nothing on the instrument panel - no speed or fuel ect.
All gauges show zero. When i start the car the lights in the panel light up, but go out after that. I checked all the fuses; disconnected the battery - nothing. Is it the BCM or something else?

Are their any Universal componet parts in a W107 Instrument Cluster (Odometer,clock,speedo,etc.) on any other Benz like 560sel - W126,W116,W124, W201 etc. that will be a perfect fit on a 1987 560sl. Not looking for the whole cluster to fit perfect just the clock and Odometer.

Mileage estimator on 2007 Honda CR-V has started changing estimated range left, example 305 miles to 385?

2007 Honda CR-V usually registers estimated range of 375 miles after fill-up. Recently, the range indicator has been jumping around. Example: This morning it started out at range of 305 miles remaining. After 25 minute commute in city traffic, it jumped up to 355 miles. That jump moves the fuel graphic display towards the full range. Any ideas on cause and fix?

I have a 2001 Honda Accord, 4cyl. with aftermarket added electric locks. When my headlights are on, the controls for everything else (windows, radio, anything that also lights up) get uncomfortable hot to the touch. Do you think it is related to the aftermarket add on? Any remedies?

At times the digital instrument panel lights do not come on at start-up. Most times the car can be restarted and the lights come on, other times not. Just bought the car so can't provide any history and of course during the test drive the lights worked fine. Again, the car is a 1997 Deville 4.6. Thank you for your feedback.

I was trying to put a colored bulb in the trunk on my 02 ELantra and I touched the screw driver to the metal that was lighting it, and it blew and now my radio and clock don't work, I know that they use the same fuse, so I checked the fuse with an led theres still power. I even bought a new bulb, but I still get nothing when I turn the car on, no display no nothin.

Speedometer stopped working, a couple of days later the gas guage also stopped working. A couple of weeks before I noticed the idle starting to be faster than normal and than it would even out. Not sure if its a coincidence but the battery also just completley died, not even able to jump it. Replaced with new battery, speedometer and guages still not working. It appears there is no powere to the whole panel because the speedometer needle use to move at least to the zero position, it just would not register any mph as the car was moving. Now it does not even move up to the zero poistion when the car is started. Have read about ECU and PCU problems on newer models but not sure if that has anything to do with this problem. Not even sure where those things are located on this car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The dashboard sometimes comes on but when it does there are no readings at all it just flickers like a disco club!. She told me that she replaced the battery in the car and when she did that the dashboard went crazy.. I did ask her before replacing the battery did she have any problems with the dashboard, she stated it was working fine before battery replacement. Do I need to recode it?. or maybe disconnect the battery for a while and see if it resets by itself. Also the obc computer in the car never came on . She stated that she nevers worried about it so she left it alone. So please if any one can help me I highly thank you..

Last year (07)about this time a cup tipped in the center console cup holder of my 06 A8L spilling coke all over the MMI keyboard. Since the Audi engineers concluded in their wisdom to not design the system without some kind of membrane barrier, the coke that went down the sides of the buttons didn't take long to make a bunch of sticking and misfiring keys..I wasn't too surprised when the dealer svc dept (WPB,FL) told me that the whole MMI board had to be replaced, but I wasn't overjoyed to learn that it would cost me $1,300 and not covered by the warranty. Replacement was done..story over till I recently went back for scheduled maintenance and chatting with appointment scheduler and mentioned the earlier MMI problem when he told me that I wouldn't believe the number of customers who had the same problem....all at $1,300 a crack!

Now, if what the young man told me is accurate and if the same problem has cropped up accross the country in significant numbers, then we're not in the land of "oh well...luxury car - luxury fix expected" we're probably in the class-action neighborhood !!

No matter that I'm still having a honeymoon with my A8L and can't even put my finger on anything else out there that even comes in a distant second in my book...I DON'T like being screwed...not even by Audi.

Have a similar problem? Let me know please, maybe we've got some $$ coming our way.

I have a Speedometer and Tachometer that works some time. If the car is parked over night both work just fine the first time you drive it. Once you stop and restart the engine neither work again. It always affects both. The odometer works just fine even if both are not working. All other gages work just fine all the time. I have replaced the gear drive in the transmission (manual) and it made no difference, did the same thing.

I just had the headlight switched replaced in my 2003 PT Cruiser. The CD player has not worked since I picked up my car from the mechanic. There is no CD display on my system only AM/FM radio. I know that the battery of my car was disconnected when they replaced the headlight switch. Would this have anything to do with it? I have never had problems with my CD player in the past.

I drive a 1992 Isuzu Stylus. Earlier today the brake, gas, and battery light came on at the same time and are staying on. I had just filled up at the gas station when it all started. Everything seems to be fine except the AC fan motor stopped blowing. Fuse looked okay. Are the three lights a signal that something else isn't working?
