I tried hooking up speed glow to my gauges by splicing a power and negative wires that connect to the back of the gauges. Now my rpm needle doesnt work and my speed glow only works when engine is off. Any ideas how to fix or replace the wires if that is the problem?

Has only happened if the weather is cold. Sometimes it will not go up to 140 when first starting the car and then come back to rest on 0. It will also go below 0 mph and then when I take off it will jump to 60 mph?

My battery died and I replaced it but the indicator for the fuel gauge spun all the way around and it is pinned behind the tab so it cannot work. It needs to be reset. Does anyone have the code to reset it?

I got a Elantra 02 2.0L GLS.

Some times they work, sometimes they don't I'm not sure what the problem is. So I took out the dash and the gauge cluster and checked the back and everything seems fine. I even cleaned the connection board with electrical cleaner and it still doesn't work. I'm wondering if I should put grease on the connections, if that a bad Idea please let me know??? thanks

I am not sure how this all works - but I answered you on my question page, but I will try here just to make sure you get it.

The used BCM was 35.00 (according to my mechanic) but looking at the part # on the used one, it is not even close to the one I have. I have not priced a new one, we are trying to do this as cheap as possible.

i just disconnected the battery and disconnected the bcm and re-connected it - same thing flashing security and battery lights - the airbag light is also lit on the dash and the seatbelt light flashes ( I know that is normal ) I am so confused and my mechanic is stumped......

Ford Explorer temp. gauge goes from reading cold to hot & back to cold again, but engine not overheating. Wire grounding or short?

1991 Ford Explorer XLT-Had thermostat replaced, but temp gauge continues to fluctuate wildly from cold to hot & back down to cold. When the gauge goes past the middle toward hot, it always comes back quickly. Tech says engine not overheating, but was wondering if an exposed wire or grounding out could be the problem. Am also having a cold start problem-when warming engine up, press the accelerator & engine wants to die. Never happens when it is warm. Had fuel filter, O2 sensor, fuel pressure sensor, & throttle position sensor replaced. Tech also says fuel pump fine. Could these two things be related?

Hi, I recently had a problem with my 93 ford Taurus stalling all the time, had the coil replaced and it doesn't stall anymore, however it still runs kinda rough when I'm idle in drive (at a red light, drive thru etc..)so I put it in neutral when it does that. Before the gut replaced the coil, my temperature guage always went to just above normal, stop and go traffic it would move closer to hot but never in the red, but now it never goes past normal, bounces rapidly between cold and normal and alot of the times stays closer to cold like I had just started the car. I check the water/antifreeze constantly that seems fine. I hope this makes sense, it's the best way I could describe what is going on. Thanks

I put in a new battery in my 2002 Acura MDX. Everything works except the trip computer - no navigation system. The screen is blank. The radio works, the heater and air conditioner works. I checked the fuses and they seem OK. Any ideas?

What would cause the oil pressure gauge to read 80psi with key on/ engine off and temp gauge to barely move? Jeep Wrangler.

1990 wrangler 2.5l 4cyl. Clock, charging gauge, and fuel level gauge work.
You disconnect oil sending unit and oil gauge continues to stay at 80psi.
Also has new temp sending unit and gauge barely moves. Would the printed circuit board on the back of gauge cluster cause these problems?

If I buy an O.A.T. sensor for my 2008 Accord EX V6 and install it,. Will the O.A.T. display on the dashboard display? Where is the connector for for the O.A.T. in the car?

I am assuming the O.A.T. connector is in the car somepalce in the wring harness. I assume all the Accords have a common wiring harness.

Yellow service light is on and the speedometer shut off or is stuck on zero.

Hi! My 99 silverado that I bought new now only has 50,000 miles on it. Sometimes the fuel guage will drop to E and the light will come on. Seems to only do this sitting still with the motor running. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill

I bought the car used about a year ago. everything runs fine, except my gas needle starts to float when about 1/2 a tank is used. it will read empty, then once starting to drive the needle pegs at the full mark. So the only way I know when to fill up is by keeping track of the miles on the tripometer.
I am assuming it is the fuel sensor, and if so looking at about 600 or so at a garage. how can I find out what exactly it is? and is there a way of doing it cheaper. I have friends that can help , but need to get a rough Idea first.

2008 Town and Country - Electrical Issues?

We bought a 2008 town and country touring. When the trunk button on the key fob is pressed, the trunk starts to open the shuts. It is at this point the car goes dead, except for the wipers which go on automatically. The car drives, but all electronics go dead. After about 15 miuntes all comes back on. Any help with this issue is appreciated.

I have a 2001 ford sport trac and my thermostat needle raised to above the"H" hot mark first thing in the morning and the "Check Gage" light is lit. We replaced the sensor gage and the computer, and by the way there are two gages in the compartment, one is the gage the other the computer, they appear to be the same until you take them out. So we replaced both of these, disconnected the battery to reset the computer, but the light is still on and the thermometer did not drop from the "H" I think it even went higher if that's possible. My radiator is good, coolant remains in it and full, does not appear to be overheating at all and we checked the fuses. WE ARE STUMPED, Any ideas of what this could be, anyone experience this before?

I have a Nissan Frontier. The speedometer goes up to 45 but no further. PLEASE HELP--Thanks.

I recently replaced my Battery. The next time I drove the vehicle I noticed the Speedometer was not working nor my Mileage Gage, and the Gas gage fluctuates a quarter of a tank from where it should be (up and down). Also the center dash display that shows direction, outside temp, est miles per gallon, ect ect is not registering the correct info. It's all "stuck" where it was when the swap of batteries was made.
I've taken the car to the dealership and they tried to "reset" the "motherboard" but to no avail. It's hard not knowing how much gas you have, how fast your going, or the miles traveled. This makes it nearly impossable to calculate without atleast one. It's like driving blind. Any help or info is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thankyou

it used to work when i first took off and then the needle would fall when i revved it up. now it doesnt move at all. i ran the codes on the ECM and it said the speed sensor was bad.how do i replace it? the repair manual wasnt very helpful.

On my 2005 RDV the only connector even close to this location isn't inside the vehicle but under it and the connector is water proof. I have exhaustidly searched for it inside with no luck. As I said there is one at that location under the car

I have a Speedometer and Tachometer that works some time. If the car is parked over night both work just fine the first time you drive it. Once you stop and restart the engine neither work again. It always affects both. The odometer works just fine even if both are not working. All other gages work just fine all the time. I have replaced the gear drive in the transmission (manual) and it made no difference, did the same thing.

What do the different lights on the dash mean on a 2007 Suzuki Forenza?

Im buying a 2001 cavalier and the odometer reads 114,000+ miles but the car title reads that the last recorded miles were 21,314 in January of 08. but it also says that it wasn't the actual miles due to odometer decrepency. the car is super clean and the mechanics who are fixing the rear end says there is no way it has that many miles. they are assuming that it only has 70,000 maybe 80,000 miles on it.

What does the overspeed on my 2004 Pontiac GTO do? And why does it change?

Recently bought an '03 Toyota Highlander w/2.4L 4-Cylinder engine and AWD. Tachometer reading of 3,000 rpm crusing at 65-70 mph seems a little high. Do other owners have the same readings?

1995 Dodge Neon. The cluster gauges (gas speed temp) work sometimes. Checked fuse and wiring in dash board.

I bought the truck in 2000 when it had 104,000 miles on it. The odometer quit at 172,000 which was in 2002. The speedometer started acting up in 2007. I would be driving and it would just stop working and then after about 5 minutes or so it would start working again. It has done this for over a year now off and on. But I don't think it is going to start back this time. I believe it has quit for good and I can't find where the speedometer cable connects to the transmission in order to check it. But I really don't know what to look for bacause I have never known of a situation like this. Either it works or it doesn't, so I thought! HELP!
