First of all, where is the PCV valve? I located something in the air duct that looks like it's a PCV valve, but it's in there pretty tight and I don't want to break it. I also can't seem to take the air duct tube off. Are there any tricks to this?

I mostly want to check and maybe clean it, but I don't want to break it. The maintenance schedule said I should check it at 60,000 miles and I'm almost there.

I have a 2006 Chevy Aveo Hatchback with transmission issues, does anyone else?

Okay so my car is at 30000 miles and was purchased in Febuary 2006. Since about a month after I got it home, I have been experiencing what I have called yo-yoing. I will allow my car to get up to normal city speed *35-40 mph*. Since I live in a pretty flat place, I normally allow it to coast. But when this happens the RPM meter bounces back the forth between RPM's. I have determined that it cannot choose between being in 2nd and 3rd gear. She gets normal oil changes and her tranmission is checked every time she is down for one. I am at a loss as to what to do as they tell me nothing is wrong with it. And they can't seem to get the car to behave like that.

Anyone else have this issue or is it just my luck with cars? If so, what was wrong and how did they find the problem if you know.

Thanks
I went on a Trip, the car only had 1000 miles on it, the best way I can compare the sound is like a windshield whiper running on a dry windshield, the wind was blowing really hard, i heard this noise for at least 1000 miles, its very loud, very annoying. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Interior door handles of 2006 Chevy Aveo have fallen off.

My 2006 Chevy Aveo (which I love) only has 6,000 miles on it, so it's not like there's a lot of wear and tear on the car. It started with the passenger side interior door handle loosening and then completely coming away from the door and now the driver's side handle is loosening also. They can't be tightened because the screws are actually inside the door. In order to re-install or tighten them, the interior door panel has to be removed. Somehow the bolts came loose. Again, a garage kept car with 6,000 miles. Before I pay to have this work done, do I have any recourse with the dealer/manufacturer? I'd like to be informed before I approach them. I think it's a design flaw. Has anyone had the problem or heard of anyone else having the problem?

The starting problem only occurs in freezing temps .It works fine once it has started. The dealer replaced the oxygen sensor it fixed the problem for about a week, now the problem is back. You would think if was a fuel problem it would happen all the time.

Has anyone experienced problems driving - skidding/sliding or braking) in the Chevy Aveo 2008 in small amount of snow 1-2"?

We just purchased a 2008 silver aveo for a great under $10,00 price, having downsized from a 2000 ford explorer. we had snow for the first time since purchasing the car and had to drive extremely slowly 5, 10 miles per hour) and experienced skidding and sliding from the back tires. Could it be that we haven't recalled how to drive in a regular car having had an suv for 7 year? We're almost ready to cash it in and go back to the suv, but as we age, we need a car that will not be so high to step into (hip and knee problems). We think we might need to reload our tool kit and jack in the truck for more weight??? Any help out there? Please? Especially since we really like the car (me 58, spouse 64). Any ideas on what to do?

I’m in Angola and I have a Chevrolet Aveo 2008, petrol engine number 2574711, chassis number KL1TM51YX9B257050.
Here in Angola it usual to buy petrol in the street form small containers as the gas stations take 3 or 4 hours in line.

My wife had a guy fill the tank and after a few meters the car died. The guy filled with 20 liters of diesel.

Can you give me some tips on how to get the diesel out of the system and what should I clean and/or replace?
How do I get access to the tank? I read it has the fuel pump accessible below the rear seat? It that the best way?
Is there any step by step instructions you can give me?

Best regards,

Tiago

Will those new Bosch Platinum +2 plugs damage my engine or void my warranty on my 2004 Chevy Aveo?

I went out to change the plugs and only got one in due to the socket getting stuck. So, I decided to get a new tool and put the other 3 in, later. I got the Bosch Platinum 2 plugs because I didn't have to re-gap them as I didn't know how much I should gap the traditional ones as there is no manual for this car. Well, when I looked at the other plugs, I noticed the design.

I've had problems with non-traditionally designed spark plugs on other cars, but have not tried them on one with MPFI before. I have decided to trade in the other three plugs for regular resister plugs and keep the one plug where it is. The thing is, am I damaging my car with this one plug? Will it void my warranty? Should I change that plug before the spark plug wires get stuck on them and I can't get it off?

I bought a 2007 Chevy Aveo brand new and since a week after i bought it i have had to put it in the shop 5 times because of the same transmission problem. it doesn't shift gears, when you go up a hill it wont get out of gear so your going 20mph trying to make it up the hill. They have done everything they can to avoid putting a new transmission in it. It is under warranty and there is just over 9,000 miles on the car. I try not driving it. If it were up to me i would't have bought an Aveo to begin with, but my parents got me the car so i didn't really have a choice. Its not that Chevy is a bad car because i have a 2006 Equinox and it has had absolutely no problems what so ever. please help me in any way that you can.

Just the nitty gritty to get a good economical gas friendly car without the high price. I'm downstairs in the garage rotating tires and changing oil and wanted to lube all the grease points. To my surprise, there isn't any! Is that true? Or am I not looking hard enough? Thanks in advance!

Ben

97 Chevy Astro sets SES P0143 when pulling trailer. Causes of low O2 voltage?

Van has ~180k miles and a few problems.

1. Sets off SES light when pulling a trailer and wants to run hot, but it is getting too hot to run the heater....I will flush the radiator again to see if this helps. Light clears soon after I drop the trailer.

2. Usually had a lot of fan roar at low speed and accompanying loss of pick up. Trailer or not.

3. Often loss of power (not a miss) when shifting from 1st to 2nd.

4. It is consuming about a radiator overflow tank of water per 1000 miles. I see on occasion some drips on the side of the bell housing and smell antifreeze. No water observed in the oil

5. No trailer fuel mileage over fairly flat terrain can vary from 16 to 22 mpg.

6. AC evaporator coil appears to be leaking since i can't seem to locate the leak elsewhere. Holds a charge for 3 to 6 weeks. I hear there are good stop leak products out there. Recommendations? (I know this part isn't related, but is it to the point that I should drive it until it dies or try to fix all its problems?)

I have replaced in the last 18 months and 65k miles
1. front O2 sensors
2. Cat converter
3. Plugs (NGK) wires, cap and rotor.

I have a USB based scan tool and can see that the sensor voltage is fluctuating, so I'm not sure that the sensor is defective. Do these degrade over time or generally fail dead? Can I avoid replacing the intake gasket? It looks like a complicated project.

I have a 2005 Chevy Aveo. I was not able to use the regular method to shift out of Park today. I had to remove the shift release cover, put my key in, move the shift lever to neutral, then start the car and put the gear in drive. I don't know why this is happening. Are there any recalls on this?

I purchased a used Chevy Aveo. The dealer did not disclose that the vehicle had been in a wreck.

I need to know how to pursue help and get dealer to either take car back, money returned or repair damages to 09 Aveo. I purchased it three weeks ago.

When I was driving some where along the way the radiator hose fell off causing motor damage up to over $4000 damage. When I took the car to dealership they said the car had been in a head on collision and the repaired parts had been install incorrectly.

Initially during purchasing of the vehicle the dealer --when I asked if car was wrecked he replied NO and I asked about a warranty. He stated I had the factory warranty due to car only having 5000 miles - another dishonest response.

I have contacted the dealer and he is rude and un-helpful, he has several cases against him through BBB unknown until after I bought car.

2005 Chevy Aveo has no gas from injectors.

My 2005 Chevy Aveo died going down highway. Towed to dealer. They told me it jumped time so we replaced belt. It still would not crank. They told me it needed new engine.

My trust in dealer was border line so I took to local mechanic who replaced engine for me. We also replaced cam sensor and crank sensor. It still will not run. If you pour gas into engine it will crank and purr like a kitten as long as rpm is 2500/3000 or either it uses gas that you poured in motor. There is something that is restricting fuel and we cannot find answer anywhere someone please help.

I have spent much money on a car I cannot get to run.
