Cobalt SS Supercharged?

Do you think Chevy will bring back the Cobalt SS Supercharged, and if the rumors are true do you think they threw away the Cobalt SS to work more on the Chevy HHR SS? Do you think its a bad move if they did. I really haven’t heard anything bad about the SS Cobalt like I have about the HHR. I did sit in the HHR its not a bad looking car but I don’t think that type of car is made to be that fast. Would there be anyway I could see if Chevy could think about bringing it back in 2009?

I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt. The steering shaft just went out. Has this happened to anyone else?

The power steering light came on while I was driving down the road. The steering began to tighten up. I took my car in to the dealership and had it hooked up to the computer but they could find nothing wrong with. I took it and drove for five days and the power steering light came on again. I took it back to the dealership and they found that the steering shaft had gone out. Is this a common thing for a three year old car and if so why.

I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt that has a annoying squeaking noise coming from the front passenger side.

The squeaking sound is only present when the car is in motion. There is no noise with the engine running but the car is in park or neutral. The sound is most noticable when the outside temperature is cold. There does not seem to be a noticable change in sound with speed change, also no noticable difference in sound when turning.

Son's car 5500 miles, 2008 Chevy Cobolt LS engine tempature running hot, between 245 to 280. Fan flucates off and on. Took it to dealership mechanic they put 42 miles on it, and let it run idle 2 full hours. The car would not duplicate overheating that we experienced. I drove it in the country at 7am about 15 miles in 60 degree weather and fog, engine started running 245 and fan kicked on. The car probably set 1 1/2 hrs then mechanic looked at it. Any reports or idea what to look for?

My Daughter was driving her 2005 Cobalt up a long steep grade, she had it floored for a while when she thought that she heard a click noise and the accelerator was stuck in the down position, she had to force her foot under the gas peddle to unstick it, she has had the car for about a year. Has anyone heard of this happening?

I am just taking the advice provided on this site to find my new car by emailing local dealerships requesting bottom-line quotes for the car of my dreams. My idea is to simply ask them to send me their quote on the closest-matching vehicle they have on their lot since I am not looking to wait 8-10 weeks for a custom ordered unit from the factory.

Is there a way to search for local dealers, and send them all a single custom email at once?

Meanwhile I will be looking to find some other acceptable way around this. Thanks!

He lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, hit a tree stump which tore the front end off the car. The car then rolled up on it's side and into a tree. None of the airbags went off, can anyone tell me why they did not deploy. Some people tell me that he did not "hit" the right sensors to make the air bags go off. When I read the web site, the front air bags are supposed to go off when there is sudden deceleration and impact. Also, the site says that "hood shoulder" airbags are supposed to deploy when the car senses an impending roll over. The police report says the car rolled. Can anyone tell me more information about the car. The car was a chevy cobalt 2008.

2005 Chevy Cobalt. Need help with security features. Car won't start.

My key got stuck in the ignition and I hadn't drove it for two days. Of course, the car died. I charged the battery by using another key to unlock the trunk and hook up cables to my car from another car.

After the battery was charged, the car wouldn't start. It really tries to but it is unsuccessful every time. Once I left the window down and locked the door by habit, then I reached in and pulled the lock up to get in. This activated a security feature and I wasn't able to start the car. All I had to do was relock the door and unlock it with the key. After that it started.

I'm thinking that what has happened now is that a security feature like this is activated, but unlocking the door is not deactivating it. The car ran absolutely fine before the battery went dead.

Are there other ways to unlock the security system, or a deactivation button in the trunk or anything? I am going to take it to a dealer anyway, and have all of the security systems permanently deactivated because they are annoying and unnecessary where I live, but I don't want to have to pay a tower to come and get it when I know I could drive it there myself. Any advice?
