I have a Chevy Equinox & can't figure out why the rear DC outlet will not work? I've already checked the fuse box.

I went camping this weekend and was using the rear DC power outlet to pump up my air mattress and it was working and then it just shut right off. I pulled every fuse in the fuse box and they are all good. I then popped the rear DC adapter out and I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Is there a hidden fuse box for this DC outlet.

When just idling and you press the pedal to the floor it only revs to 3500 RPMs. Why is that? And I've noticed that when I'm driving down the highway going about 75 mph and I floor it the RPMs still only go up to 3500. Does anyone know why or have the same problem?

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox all wheel drive and I'm hearing a loud growling noise. It gets louder the faster I go. What is it?

My 2005 Chevy Equinox has a loud growling noise in the front end. I put the front end up and ran it and the noise is still the same. I pulled the right front apart and removed the axle shaft and the noise went away. I took it to a dealership and they told me it was a wheel bearing so i replaced the right side wheel bearing cause the noise sounded like it was coming from that side. I drove it after replacing the wheel bearing/hub and the noise changed for about 2 minutes and now it has the same noise again.

I'm wondering if I should replace the left front wheel bearing. There is also a support shaft that comes out of the right side of transmission that connects the axle to the tranny. That shaft has a bearing in it as well. Should I be looking at that bearing or something in the transmission?

Can you help me with a brake problem for a 2005 Chevy Equinox?

Equinox was bought new with no problems until about a year ago. Periodically, when braking at slow (10/5) speed the brakes will vibrate/stutter/and sometimes grab. The car stops fine and no ABS lights have come on. There is a small amount of noise that goes along with the vibration/stutter/grabbing. I have had the car to the dealer 10+ times where new brakes have been installed, sensors checked and they are scratching their heads when I call and say the car is doing the same thing within a few days. Can you help me solve this problem because I don't think it's helping the car at all. Thank you.

2010 Chevy Equinox LS. Anyone thinking about upgrading the audio?

Hi, all:

I couldn't find a 2010 Equinox 2LT with the upgraded audio system anywhere in my area. I'm sure the LS-standard audio system is decent enough, but I am checking for alternatives in case I come to the conclusion that an upgrade would be desirable.

Being a new model, Crutchfield et. al. don't have it in their database as of yet, so no help there. Anyone else looking at this situation and have some suggestions to offer? There's not much by way of car sound specialty outfits where I am, and not sure I want to go completely high-end in any case.

Thanks in advance!

Bought my Equinox new in 07, have an attached garage and had no need to plug it in until this winter as I am moving. I have looked EVERYWHERE for the cord and cannot find it coiled up anywhere. Have info sheet on car and states that it comes with a thermostatically controlled engine block heater as a standard feature! Any ideas as to where to look that I may be missing? I went under the car as well to no avail so far.

I just noticed a creaking noise coming from the front end of my 05 Equinox when turning left primarilly. The vehicle just passed a safety inspection and had two rear shocks replaced. The front end passed but i'm not sure if it could be sway bars or struts.

I have noticed a clicking noise coming from the left front wheel of my 05 Equinox when driving at various speeds 30-80 km/hr. I have checked the wheel cover and the tire tread for stones, nails etc. Any ideas? I was thinking loose brake pads or maybe a CV joint...arrrgh.

I recently bought my Equinox a week ago used with 45,000 miles on it. Its has run perfectly but after checking on my car after Tropical Storm Fay I discovered water in my spare tire compartment. I cannot find any visible leaks and I know that this has happened to people with Equinoxes before. I just wanted to know if there is a way of stopping the leak and if the fix can be done at home or should be taken care of at the dealership.

The carpeting in the back of the car is perfectly dry so water is not coming through that area.

We just bought an '06 Equinox and the tire pressure spec says 35 psi. Yet the spec for an 07 and 08 is 30 psi. I think it's mis-spec'd and because the car wanders on the x-way, I'm going to lower it to 30 psi. I see wrong specs at work all the time, but,I'm off work right now, so I can't check the bulletins, or contact engineers until I go back. I don't see any difference in the years that would change tire pressures.

2007 Chevy Equinox LT battery charging problem.

About a month ago we had a problem with the sevice battery warning light coming on and then within 20 miles the warning light went to "battery saver activated" and shortly after the car flat out quit. After bringing it to a GM shop, they swapped the alternator and found that didn't solve the problem. They then changed the "computer/brain" and felt that solved it, so they put the old alternator back on. Well, 30 days later to the day, it is doing the same thing. If you bring the battery volts up on the display, it's down to 10.3 volts and will continue to drop as you drive. It's as if the alternator isn't being "told" to go on. Now, if the first event was under warranty, (less than 36,000 miles) but now the mileage is over the 36,000 limit, because it's the same problem, will it still be covered, and what do these "auto tech's " need to be looking for??? Also, the after the first repair they stated "it was a broken wire" I don't know what direction to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently purchased a 2005 Chevy Equinox AWD LT and there is a whining or whistling noise that will come and go. The noise will stop on a Q once I hit 15mpr or less. Also when I turn the wheel to the left or right it does not affect the sound only increasing the speed or descreasing the speed seems to affect the pitch of the sound. I thought maybe it was the trasmission or engine so I threw it into neautral at 50 mpr and reved it up still no change to the sound, the sound seems to be only associated to wheel speed. Does anybody have any suggestions on this, I did read one thing that sounded simular to this and the mechanic told him that the center support bearing needed to be greased, make any sense?

So my 05 Equinox seems to have problems starting. Not all the time but sometimes. Doesn't matter if it's cold or not. Seems to actually happen when it's already been driven that day. When I turn the key to get it started it goes to start but doesn't quite get there. I let off the key and it continues to try on it's own for about 2 seconds (weird). Sometimes it will take me a few tries before it will start. Took it to my mechanic he said we need to try to duplicate it. He also said that by what I said was happening he would rule out battery and starter but lean more towards the ignition switch. Anyone else have this problem/ solution?

Should a Chevy Equinox make a loud grinding sound when giving a little gas on a dirt road?

When I give this car a little gas from a dead stop it sounds like the drivetrain is metal to metal. When turned hard to the right makes a similar sound but not as loud.

Car is AWD with 65k miles and has been kept up maintenance wise. It has coolant in the no. 1 cylinder. Has this been an issue for these vehicles or is mine the only one?

2005 Chevy Equinox radiator cooling fans kick on as soon as you turn A.C. on and won't let the compressor cycle.

2005 Equinox radiator cooling fans kick on as soon as you turn A.C. on and wont let the compressor cycle cycle it keeps kicking off in short spurts so it never cools off and it makes the engine surge. Also the fans wont shut off until you restart the engine. Starting the vehicle without the A.C. on the car runs fine and the cooling fans come on only when necessary.

2010 Chevy Equinox 4 cylinder seems to "self-brake" at 25mph, not sure if it is gear ratios or what. Anyone else have this?

Just bought a 2010 Equinox 4 cylinder. Seems at about 25mph when slowing down to "self-brake" and becomes a little jittery. Not sure if it is the tranny's gear ratios, or the hydraulic brakes, or what. Has about 400 miles on it, seems to be getting better, but maybe we're just getting used to it. Anyone else notice this?
