i have had my car in the shop 6 times,i've had my roters turned 2 times and now its doing it again.and the battery dies on it on and as to be jumped started,my husband called Detroit and talk to them about my car,which they say has a after market filter on it that could ruin my warrenty,thats alie ive not touched the car but the shop has.im sick of this car and i wish i hd never got one.you cant play the radio 5 mins and it cuts off to.

I have a clunking noise under my car. Steering column was replaced 3 times and noise still there. What is it?

Since I purchased the car I have had this clunking or thumping noise from under the car. The dealership has replaced the steering column 3 times and the noise still exists. I kept thinking that it was maybe struts or shocks, but they insist it's in the steering. I love the vehicle but I am getting very upset with the fact that the noise has not been stopped. Is it possible it is in the steering? At times I can feel the thump under my feet. Has anyone else complained about this problem?

Chevy HHR power steering lost after trying to jump off another vehicle. Anyone got any ideas?

My son-in-law was trying to jump off his other car with the HHR, he bumped the side of the breaker/relay box with the neg battery cable, and has lost his power steering ever since.

My Chevy HHR needs wiper blades. Can you recommend some good inexpensive ones that fit. The dealer wants $85 for a set.

The wiper blades that came on the HHR lasted over 3 yrs and 53k miles. I would like the same quality without the dealers price of $85 for a set of three. Can you recommend where I might purchase them?

Power steering went out on my Chevy HHR due to a jump. All fuses are good. Where is the electric steering assist located?

I needed a boost and the post under the hood was used some kind of a way the power steering went out. The first time it happen the DC said something about the power steering but this time it didn't tell me anything when I got in the car and tried to drive it the steering was out. All the fuses look good I wonder should I just changed the fuse anyway. The electric steering assist where is this located and is this something me and my dad could do ourselves?

My 2006 hhr makes a very loud noise when I go over bumps and dips. Its a squeaky sound different from a brake noise. I taken it to the dealer and they say they don't hear anything. I always hear it in the morning. It's very loud and embarassing when I drop my kids off at school. I go over bumps very slow and the noise squeaks and everyone notices it. I noticed in the afternoon the noise is not as loud but it is still there. I need to know if this is happening to other HHR owners and if you have any clue what it is.

I have a 2007 Chevy HHR. I want to soften the ride. How is the best way? Tires or suspension parts?

I have a 2007 Chevy HHR. Steering wheel shakes when applying brakes. Has done this since there was 10,000 miles driven.

i have been thinking of the hhr for my next car but i'm wondering what kind of gas mileage it gets? i have a pt cruiser and that car gets terrible mileage. others i have talked to say the same thing, and i just don't want to get into the same situation i'm in now. i might as well keep the pt cruiser as to get an hhr and get the same low mileage. thanks bob.

There is a low pitch hum when driving the 07 HHR. After the car warms, the humming begins at 25 to 45 miles per hour. The humming only occurs when the car is in drive.(automatic transmission). At higher speeds the humming is less. Can it be the transmission? What kind of road noise do other HHR owners experience?

I have just bought a 2006 Chevy HHR and it did not come with owners manual, I was looking for the battery location.

Just happened to me too...Hhr, jump start...Pwr steer loss...
Baffled...Thanks for this...Had mo clue, newer car.
My son may have jumped wrong, bumped relay box not sure.
Husband will be glad to hear this is only a fuse. Just got this car 45 days ago.

Why won't my 2006 Chevy HHR key switch turn all the way off? Now my key won't come out, and it kills my battery.

On a 2007 Chevy HHR, at approximately 37 mph, a transmission whine occurs. Does the HHR hit a new gear at 37 MPH?

Dealer indicates that the car news new tires and a front end alignment to start. Car has 15000 miles on it. After the tires and alignment, dealer wants to replace the hubs. I figure that it is the transmission causing this whine.

Gasoline was taken from my Chevy HHR a number of times. Security system was on. Why won't the alarm go off?

Re: Chevy HHR. How much more headroom is there without a sunroof vs. with? Can't find specs. At 6'5" it makes a difference.

In specs for most vehicles, two different headroom measurements are show--with and without sunroof. Neither Chevy.com nor Edmunds specs provide that information for the HHR.

2006 Chevy HHR transmission drops from high gear. Can slide shift from D to 2nd then back and it corrects for temp.

06 Chevy HHR automatic. Transmission shifts to lower gear from drive while proceeding at highway speeds. Can manually shift gear level to lower gear then back to drive and corrects temporarily...then goes back to lower gear. It is also happening at lower speeds. Fluid seems full, car has 77K mileage and no service to auto transmission accomplished to date.

Just purchased 2006 HHR LT without a manual. I did purchase an 06 manual off ebay. Question: How do I set my clock to correct time? In the manual I purchased, it shows clock under the RDM button. Mine does not have those buttons. Mine has a FAV button and under that, the button is missing? In the manual I got, it states: If your vehicle has a radio w/a single CD player, which mine has, the radio will have a clock button for setting the time and date. Press the clock button and HR, MIN, MM, DD, YYYY will appear. I cannot find anything on any button that states "clock"? Can you please help me figure this out? Thanks for any help in this matter.

2008 Chevy HHR key got stuck in engine. Froze up. Onstar, nothing would work. Dealer said it was battery.

Rollback took to dealer then put it on the machine it said nothing wrong. They put new battery in car it runs but the keyring which has the lock unlock won't work now. When driving car lights inside car became dim. Could there computer problems?

HELP! I noticed a rattling noise coming from my 2007 HHR front passenger side and decided to put it up on a jack to see if anything was broken, loose or what. My son touched the transmission and was able to push up on it with only one hand. There is lots of play here. A transmission should be bolted down sturdy, not loose like mine is. What could have caused this to happen? Did not find anything dangling or broken to the naked eye. I live in a small city and IS NOT used in a ranch. Car is no longer under warranty and has 79,000 hwy. miles. and one driver (me). Any suggestions!!!

I sometimes get static thru radio when turn signals, ignition, or door is activated.

The Chevy HHR has front disk and rear drum brakes. Does this matter? Is front and rear brakes better?

2006 hhr leaks in front floor passenger side when it rains. also has developed a roaring sound in the front. I replaced tires and had wheel bearing checked, they are OK what is making sound. Brakes are good. i hear it when I get above 20 mph

just bought an 2008 hhr 18000 miles on it drove it home then went to go out and now the IGNITION KEY WON'T TURN. key just goes in and out. the 800 service people no help just said jiggle keys and keep turning the steering wheel to get the key to turn... any answers out there??? think they need a recall after reading so many problems the HHR INGITION SWITCH has...

07 Chevy HHR manual transmission won't shift from 2nd to 3rd. Only shifts 1st to 2nd. Dealer said it was because it was so cold.

first have popping noise right front like a ball joint they cant find or fix have to order new rack and pinion, also they replaced the steering column but it didn't help. Then i took off and trans wont shift out of 2nd to any other gear but 1st took it back and they said it was because it was cold but if that was true it wouldn't shift at all. any help would be helpful

I left the parking lights on and the car wouldn't start. I had it jump started by a professional AAA rep and now the radio doesn't work. It seems to be getting signals, but no sound and cannot get the buttons to work. Also, the turn signals work, but I no longer hear the clicking noise. I took it to the dealer and they checked all the fuses and said they were OK so I'd have to have it checked out by a technician. I really don't want to spend the money right now. Anyone had this problem with their Chev. HHR? (2006)

We love our new,used 2007 Lt2 but wish we had a sunroof(easy to find) and a manual transmission( not so easy to find). Can we get an HHR LT2 with a manual trans and keep all the "loaded" options.(minus the auto start for obvious reasons)

I have a 2007 HHR purchased new with 20000 miles.

Both rear tires are worn out with obvious camber problem.

Is this a common problem? Is this a recall problem?
