1994 Geo Metro has no spark and will not start.

I have tried to purchase an ignition control module, but can't find the module under the hood. The one for U.S. made Geo is not on my car. I do not know what to look for on a Canadian made Geo Metro. Does anyone have a picture of the ignition control module or where it is located? My VIN starts with a 2 so the auto parts store indicated that they could not get that item and they do not have a picture as to what it looks like. This vehicle was made in Canada and they indicated that the module was different than those made in the U.S. This Geo Metro 3 cylinder has different parts if made out of the U.S.? Please help. Thank you.

I need a distirbutor cap 4 it it is the larger one.
Need a Napa# I have a distributor that is different than what NAPA says it is. My cap screws down, is larger in diamater yet shorter in height. It has a yellow tag on the dist but the numbers are gone. The the logo on the "OLD" possibly original cap is a Mitsubishi. Can someon supply any aftermarket number for me? The cap is toast did match the rotor.

Had my 2000 Chevy Metro alligned 2 times this year, now I am being told the differential is bad. What would cause this?

Purchased a 2000 Metro with 8000 miles last year. Have had it alligned two times since I purchased it and it still continues to pull to one side. Over the cold months, I live up North, I heard what sounded like the steering belt, once the car heated up it stopped, also the car would be hard to turn if it was cold. Now that the weather is warmer it stopped the noise, but the car broke down over the weekend. I am being told it is the differential, the car only has 70000 miles on it. What would cause this? And are Chevy trannys known to have problems?

Will the 13 inch wheel on the 95 Geo Metro fit on the 92 Metro that had the 12 inch wheel?

I had the rotors replaced and the pads. Caliper checked. A month later the pedel started getting stiffer and the car pulled abit to one side. Then the pedel got harder and the stopping slower and the pulling to one side stopped but pedel like a brick. Wouldnt want to have to stop in hurry thoough it kind of stops if I plan way ahead. booster, or master cylinder? Or something else?

99 Chevy Metro hard brake pedal. Could the check valve in the hose restrict the air to the booster?

I have a 99 Chevy Metro. I have change the brake pads and shoes on it and bled the brakes but my pedal is stiff and when I go to stop I push the pedal all the way down and it takes a while to come to a complete stop. I pumped the brakes 4 times and held it and then started the car and the brake pedal went nowhere. I removed the hose from the booster while the car was still running and there was no change in the rpm but when I removed the hose from the intake there was. Could this be a problem with the check valve in the hose?

The hydraulic lifters seem to over inflate and hold open the valves immediately after I try starting the motor. Each time I attempt to start the motor the compression drops to almost 0 and stays that way for 5 to 10 minutes. The compression eventually returns to normal and the motor does start to fire but immediately floats the valves again. Does any one know what causes the lifters to float the valves when the engine is cold and how to fix it? I purchased the head from a private party and do not know who did the rebuild. G10 3-cylinder motor.

replace driver side headlight but is weak, passenger side is strong. the seal-beam is strong when i test on passenger side! the old light was strong but had a crack. when i replace there was a small spark?

My 93 Geo Metro convertible top is difficult to close & latch. Will buying new top & cables help this problem

Present cables on car are not broken but wondering if purchase of new cables and new convertible top are installed will this help me to close my top and latch it easier? Right now it takes several people (and several tries) to help me close and latch. Otherwise love my car but this sure is frustrating. If new cable & top won't help please tell me what will help before I spend tons of money on top & install. Thank you so much!
Have found new top & cables online to buy but being in small town is problem for install.

Started car this morning w/no problem got ready to leave and it just died on me so i changed my starter (it was going out), plugs(old) and still nothing. Pulled plug and got no spark, pulled cap and rotor did not spin. What else should I do? It's a 92 Metro lsi convertible w/only about 30,000 on a rebuilt engine.

My question is that i own a 1993 geo metro, and i drove this weekend 200 hundred miles round trip ....i ended up using 3/4 of a tank of gas? first part of the trip 55 to 60 mph, then 60 to 65 mph on the return part. i had a fuel leak under the driver's side and had it repaired, would only leak as you were driving, i plan on replacing the fuel filter today, but i don't that this is the problem. also i'm replacing the pcv valve. what are o2 sensors? any help would be appreciated..terry

My 1997 Geo Metro LSI with 65000miles that dies on the freeway when you slow down/press on the brake going from 60MPH. An example would be slowing down from cruising speed to slow down for an off ramp or a slow driver. I have already checked the electrical system MANY times myself and at the dealer. Everything passes with flying colors. When it dies and you pull over the car usually will not start up right away, but after a few minutes and attempts to crank it over the car finally starts. In addition, there are no error codes or service engine lights showing. Any ideas of what the problem is?

What is the best engine manual to buy to work on the engine. 1 Liter. I think it has a cracked head. 1993 Geo Metro.

This is for a 1993 Geo Metro 1 liter w/ 5 speed manual. I understand that there has been some problems with the head/valves on this model. It seemed to have a miss when it ran before.

96 Geo Metro cold start, give it gas, it dies. Floods won't start. Let it idle til warm, runs fine.

Installed used instrument cluster with more miles showing than original. I Need to reset the odometer. The odometer wheels and mechanism look pretty straight forward but I don't want to destroy anything by just tugging on the needle without knowing what to expect.

Engine will fire one time each time the key is cycled. Will do it as long as I want to keep trying. If you continue to hold the key in the start position after it has fired it will not fire again until key is recyled. I have checked wiring harness plugs in the engine compartment. Checked crank sensor,installed known good distributor, coil, ignitor,computor. Engine was changed in this car by previous owner. I bought it not running. What am I missing?

Would it be feasible for 2 novices to replace a Geo Metro convertible top?

check codes 23 and 31 that a iat sensor and a map sensor what to do next ?

had problem w/engine overheating & loosing coolant somewhere. no visable leaks, all new hoses/thermostat, water pump etc. Radiator full of coolant. have left the car standing for 3 days, when removed radiator cap-system still under pressure. then when took it down the road @ 60mph, the bottom radiator tank blew off. Why?

I have a 1991 Geo Metro LSI 3 cylinder (Canadian model) and cannot find a distributor cap. All are too small.

I started out at the usual outlets for the part, even the Chevy dealership. No luck. All caps are to small around. Chevy told me to check out the wrecking yards. Whatever. This 3 cyl. motor has got to have a replacement somewhere, but where. I need direction, advice, answers.

97 Chevy Metro idles but won't take throttle when cold. When warmed up it runs great and has full throttle.

Have a 1.0L 97 chevy metro when I got it,the engine was blown.I got a 95'1.0L to put in it,I changed all the pulley's,installed the oil pump with the crank sensor,dist.is from the 97 motor,also is the throttle body from the 97.has new plugs,wires,cap,rotor.When cold,it will idle but take little to no gas,just boggs and dies but will restart.When it reaches operating temp. it will run very good and handle full throttle with no bogging or hesitation,runs great.Just can't figure out why it runs so good warm but terrible when cold,just can't get in an go must be fully warmed up.It is timed andhas spark....

I have a new seal and boot, but I can't install due to a part that seems to be attatched inside the transmission. I removed the shift control arm, but there is still a piece in front of the seal that needs to come off.
How does this piece come off so I can install the new seal? I fear its not an easy job. Please help

I bought a 1993 geo metro and I had the heads redone, because lifters were not operating properly. The lifters will pump up but will not bleed off.
It will hardly run at all when this happens.

Can a 3 cylinder XFI Geo Metro engine be put into a 2000 Metro that had a 1.3 3 cylinder in it?

The tach directions say to hook up to the negative post on the coil. This car must have an electronic ignition because although I see the coil it does not have a negative post I can find. Thanks for your help!!

1995 Geo Metro check engine light blinks a 12 code and the shift light is staying on. What could be the problem?

The car passed smog two weeks ago and seems to be running great. Getting 41 mpg.

At start up yesterday the check engine light came on and started blinking. One blink-a pause then two blinks and the shift indicator arrow is also staying lit.

Any ideas what this means?

I have 92 Metro Convertible. Need interior and exterior door handles. Checked all junkyards. Help!

Can't open the driver side door inside or out, so have to crawl from passenger side. And only passenger interior door handle works.

Didn't know if any aftermarket handles work or if you have any suggestions. What other year handles can I use or other brand parts like Isuzu?

THANKS 4 PREVIOUS HELP

I have a Geo Metro XFi (supposedly). It has 195 psi each cylinder but only 48 mpg high way. I found a big hole in a vacuum hose under the air filter and this part under the air filter on the left side as seen in 2 pix. I brought it to the dealership /lol they said they didn't know. I couldn't find it in Chilton's.

It's got new cap, rotor, spark plugs (platinum) and I replaced the 100% clogged pcv valve. Still 48 mpg. The hose, cap and rotor just fixed and changed today so mpg might improve. But this part looks important lol. And nothing connected to it. It's the threaded nut with the red top and the brass connection lead sticking out with nothing attached:

New guy here. I have a 1 liter engine that will not start intermittently. When I look inside the throttle body the injector is not spraying. It will start on starting fluid and then die again. The coil is putting out good spark and there is no carbon tracking on cap. Plugs are good and gapped properly. I have cleaned most of the connections I could find. The Battery is good and charging is good. The injector pattern looks even and I've only been able to check the voltage at the injector when the car actually starts, so not much help there. Cold or hot does not make a difference with problem. Any suggestions and voltage specs would be appreciated. Thanks.

Engine was running great, suddenly it started coughing & gasping and wanted to die. I checked the plugs at home and one plug had worn a hole too big for the spark plug to fit in. This plug had lost its firing electrode and the ceramic tip. Has this happened to other plugs before? The spark plug just came out without any effort or turning. The new plug was too small by milimeters to fit in the same hole. Prior to this episode no other problems had occurred.

do not have low beams, but do have other lights and wipers. all fuses are okay. have replaced head lights with 9700 series lights no luck in getting low beams. suggestions?

Intermittent problem where car wont shift into 3rd gear (will go from 1st to second fine). Trany was recently serviced. Lucas trany cond. was suggested. Car is a 1992 Metro LSI with 102kmi. Thaks-Joe
