my front defogger does not work, any suggestions?

I have a 1989 S-10 Blazer that I absolutely love as my getting out of town vehicle. I was planning to drive up to the mountains this weekend and check out the snow for a few hours.

I took it out last night to make sure everything was running well, and I cannot get the front window to de-fog. I live in Arizona, and it was a rainy night and the temperature was about 45.

I tried every option, defogger on with hot air blowing, with cold air blowing, windows slightly down to let out my hot steamy air, windows up all of the way, nothing blowing at all. I even bought rain-x defogging chemical and that worked for a few minutes. But when I went somewhere for an hour and came back to the car, it was all fogged up and it would not clear up.

I waited about 5 minutes before driving, and in my 15 minute drive home I had a window clearing space of about 6 inches to look out of.

I suspect that there is no freon, as I have not used A/C in a couple of years. I just avoided the car in the really hot months. Could the lack of freon have anything to do with it?

Any ideas would be appreciated. I could not the rear one going either but it was too dark to check the fuses. I will do that today.

Thanks.

1991 Chevy S-10 Blazer is overheating---I think?

My 1991 S10 Blazer 4.3L 2WD is overheating to 260F according to the gauge, but I've checked the temp with my digital laser temp tool at both temp sensors, the water pump, the upper and lower hoses, the thermostat housing, the radiator, and the coolant crossover passage on the front of the intake. The tool reads anywhere from 170 to 200F at all spots. I've replaced the radiator, temp sensor, thermostat, the cluster circuit board and the actual temp gauge inside the cluster. I've tested the water pump for coolant flow, I've tested the thermostat, I've tested the gauge. Any ideas or advice on what the problem might be would be great! I'm at my wits end.

S-10 1997 blazer 4.3 v6
Unfortunately I don't know what the exact problem is !!!!

But I can tell you what it is not.

I added fuel to the throttle body and it starts.
If I let it sit for 1/2 hr the engine will not start.
It is not the air filter ( I ran it with the filter off )
It is not the injectors ( I checked the coil resistance, all the same)
No codes stored and no check engine light when running.
And it just passed emissions test one month ago.
The problem is getting worse, two months ago it would have to sit for a weekend now it has to sit for a half hour, before it won't start.

Tag It's your turn.
I have a 1994 Chevy Blazer S-10, V6 Vortec. Won't start. Why?

One day I woke up to go to work and my Blazer started but idled rough but then the idling after a minute would get real bad. It would spit and sputter like it wanted to shut off. As soon as I would put it into gear thats when it would shut off. So I put on a new fuel filter, air filter and O2 sensor. But it still does the same thing. Checked ERG or EGR Valve ( whatever one it is). The screen was really clogged but there was nothing wrong with the valve. Now, I one of my PVC Vales on my manifold isn't really connected. It seems like it is a vac hose that connects to my filter box. It is really rotted and it doesn't fit around the hole it goes into correctly. Could that also be the problem? I don't know what else to do or try and I really need to get it running please HELP!!!!

Have a 2000 Chevy Blazer S-10 with 140,000 miles. Went to start and everything comes on but will not turn over to start. Turn off and tried again and after a couple of tries will start. Replaced MAFS this Friday and had no prior problems. Battery shows 12.5v. Right turn sign is flashing faster than normal and than left signal. Is this a multi-fuction switch or the ignition switch its self?

1993 S-10 Blazer Vortec 4.3. The truck runs rich and the spider is new.

ok here is the low down. I just accuired a 1993 S-10 blazer from a friend's dad for little to nothing.

It runs but runs super rich and stalls out if you stop. He had the spider replaced by a local garage but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

I had a scanner plugged into it and it didn't show a code but the check engine light is on. I replaced the throttle position sensor and still didn't fix it.

I know that he timed it but he didn't unplug the right connector. I have been told that it is under the ecu on the passenger side of the truck on the inside.

If this is correct would timing it solve the problem? I put a light on it and the mark jumps around a lot. Mind you this is after he timed it with the ecu still pluged in.

What do I have to do to time it properly and what else could cause it to run rich like this? I'm just looking to get as many possibilities of the problem so I can figure it out.

The cut off date for old cars says that it has to be less than 25 years old. How strict is that enforced? We own a 1984 S-10 Chevy Blazer with a manufacturer's date of 6-30-1984, so does that mean it will be too old by one month? The stimulus package requirements for Clunker Cars to be traded in.

I have a 93 Chevy Blazer. It will not shift out of first gear at all. It will go in first and reverse.

this vehicle was given to me. over the summer it was giving me problems with not wanting to shift. i changed the fluid and it looked like the fluid had never been changed. after The fluid was changed it didn't shift at all anymore. I was in a automotive program over the summer at the time. I asked my automotive instructor what he thought it might be. he said that it was probably electrical. I changed the solenoids for shifting and it didn't help any. while i was in there I changed the filter and gasket obviously. I'm not really sure what else it might be.

I have a 99 Chevy S-10 Blazer. When I have the 4 wheel drive engaged there is a thumping noise while driving. We've already changed the sensor on the transfer case. It almost seems like it's going to fall apart. The thumping goes away when I take it out.
