While cold, this revs up then sputters and practically dies. It takes a great while to quit doing this. Could it be a fuel filter or related to the cold otherwise?

Would you please advise me how to figure out what has broken or came loose on my tailgate latch? It has been working just fine for years, and yesterday I couldn't lower it. Also, how do I lower it with a broken lock?

My 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500HD kills the battery if it sits unused for 3-4 days. This has been an ongoing issue since day one.

I have had a problem with the battery dying if the truck is not used for more than 3-4 days, I have had the dealer do extensive checks...nothing...

GM has intervened. Nothing. I want to upgrade to a bigger battery, but the space where the battery is won't allow it...we have changed the battery 2 or 3 times now, and the problem persists. Anyone having this issue, and if so, how did you fix it. The truck has almost all available options, so it is power hungry, but it still should not be dying like this when it is not used

2003 4.3 litre, v6...replaced gas cap thinking gasket was bad and causing engine to not get vaccuum needed from gas tank; replaced air filter; put truck on dyno, said nothing wrong...mechanic says i just got bad gas. he corrected codes, light went out, drove great for 27 miles, then light came back on and motor running crappy again...help!

Are the Chevrolet Hybrid pickups available yet, and if so, where? What kinds of reviews do they receive?

I have a 2003 Chevy 1500HD 4x4 with Quadrasteer, the vehicle has 98,000 miles. I am looking at extended warranty for 24,000 or 36,000 miles. Wonder if the 6.0 V8 has an inherent problem with either the cooling or fuel systems? This is only covered in the 24,000 plan. I’ve had problems with a 1996 Chevy 1ton 4x4 that I previous owned and wonder if these problems are still present in the 6.0 engine.

My Chevy 1500HD is giving me a warning and sound to alert me to the low oil presure. However, it runs will and i tried changing out the o rings and oil pump but it still give me a waring sound of oil presure low.

Can you beef up a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD to tow like a 2500? Thanks.

What is the difference between a 2002 1500 HD and the 2002 2500 as far as towing capacity? Can the 1500HD be made to tow like the 2500? I am buying a trailer and do not really want to purchase a larger truck if I can help it. I love my 2002 C/C S/B 1500 HD and the 2500.

[edit] I need additional towing capacity to 12000 lbs

I do want to keep the 1500hd if I can but can not pull the weight of the new 5th wheel I want. Can I do something to the existing truck to make this possible?

Factory trailer wiring plug. The only power coming out of the plug is taillights. Is there a fuse for the rest?

On the factory trailer plug all I have is the park/tailghts. All the fuses appear to be good. is there a relay or something I'm missing? or does the tow switch on the shift lever have to be on to activate the trailer package?

2001 Chevy 1500HD with 4 position push button 4WD on dash, the usual 3 and a auto 4WD button, model 246 transfer case and L480E transmission. previous owner said that while he was "on the throttle" he heard a "clunk" when it went to engage to 4WD. everything outside the transfer case seems to be doing what its supposed to (font end engages, transmission engages when in low, etc) something internal in transfer case must be wrong correct? any ideas? don't mind doing work myself to keep cost down if not too complex

My 98 Chevy Silverado 100,000 miles suddenly didn't start. It clicked once every time we turn the key. We put a new battery in and a new starter. The starter checked out ok at the shop. We cleaned the battery terminals ran a wire from positive down to the starter no luck. What is going on?

The check engine light is on, and when it is scanned the only thing it comes up with is the gas cap is loose. It was replaced too. I replaced the fuel pump thinking it was not holding the pressure after the motor is shut off...or not building the pressure fast enough when the key is turned on.
But if I hesitate (2 or 3 seconds), before turning the key to start, the motor fires right up. Oh yea, the fuel filter has been replaced...before the pump was. I've tried high octane gas from major oil companies...no change. I've had this truck for over 1 1/2 years, and its been like this all along. I'm used to starting it like this, but I'm tired of it. Any help will be great, and Thank You

The drivers side tire is wearing about twice as fast as the passenger side. It is just the inside shoulder of each tire. I just put new bridgestone tires on it 6 months ago and I have had it alligned twice since then. Over half the tread is gone where it is wearing. The shop said they cheked out the suspension parts and could not find anything wrong and just told me to keep an eye on it. The tires are still wearing in the same place.

i bought it with 90000 miles and it was owned by a gm mechanic before me(im the second owner) and the dealer and a seperate mechanic convinced me it wasnt the tranny. someone else that looked at it told me it was coming from the catalytic converter but that didnt make sense to me because i cant get the vibration if i rev the motor in park. i only notice it when im cruising @41-43mph and when i start it up and put it in drive and very slowly accelerate. I take very good care of my cars and the truck now has 127,000 miles on it. Ive had it for two years and i guess it hasnt caused any other problrms its just annoying

Just began like a month ago, have almost 90,000 on it. Went to a auto shop and had a computer reading done and says nothing wrong?? Sometimes the truck dies cause the idle drops too low. this only happens when im parking going slow. auto shop guy sugested it was the idle control part but he couldn't find the part for the vehicle told me i'd have to go to chevy dealer. Just seein if yall have any clues of what it might be before i go hand my paychecks over to a Chevy Dealer to fix this???

1. Even though it calls for 5W30 GM dealerships are using 10W30, is it because of the climate. We live in west texas. I have 10W30 in all my vehicles because I heard of a recall on the Castrol GTX 5W30 oil. And I prefer Castrol GTX. I called GM and they know nothing of the recall. And now I'm in the process of changing out all the vehicles to 5W30 again. Since you answered my question.

I'm confused about weights of oil, what is the difference between 5W30 and 10W30?

I had a 99 Silverado with a 6liter and put 10W30 in it according to the temperatures in the owners manual. Wouldn't it be the same on my 2007 8.1liter GMC Sierra? My 6liter had 190,000 miles on it and never burned oil.

I was told it was a 1963 and or a 1969. Also has a fabric squar or rag top? Sunroof, and the running lights are in the bottom.
