Last night I turned the key on on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan to remove a dvd from the 6 disc changer and neglected to turn it off. Of course, my battery was dead this morning. After charging it, the van cranked perfectly, everything appears fine, except the dvd player will not work. All 6 lights flash when the key is turned on and then after a few seconds they flash 3 and 3. If I push the button to select a disk, I get an error message? Can something be reset?

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that has a slight front end vibration that cannot be found

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that has a slight front end vibration that cannot be found but is tearing through tires. HELP! I have replaced the struts, sway bar bushings and end links, tie rods and most recently the entire rack. The van has 122k on it and has been great up till now and it is just one thing after another with the front end. I recently took the van in as the front left (drivers) tire was wearing out very quickly and I had noticed a slight vibration in the front end. I was told the rack was bad causing the vibration and the tire wear problem. After spending $1300.00 on repairs and two front tires the vibration is still there and I am now wearing out the new left tire. Dodge cannot find the problem and says everything looks and appears to be in good condition and again has no answer for the vibration and tire wear. The alignment has been re-done 4 different times to no avail/ with solving the problem. The last dodge mechanic said there is a very slight vibration on the front drives side axel possibly causing the problem but again not sure. Of course they want another small fortune to tear into the van with no guarantee it will solve the problem. Please help

I have an 05 Dodge Grand Caravan with a chronic, intermittent malfunctioning sliding door. Any thoughts?

The door (driver's side) will begin to close but just as it approaches the frame, it re-opens. It acts as if it "senses" something in the way and opens back up. I have taken to Hendrick service department 7 times. They have replaced the wiring harness at the bottom of the door tract several times and the motor once. However, now the other door (passenger side) is displaying the same behavior. Also, since the last visit to the service department (when they replaced the motor) the outside door handle does not work. You can access the sliding door via key fab or the inside buttons but the outside door handle does not release the door to open.

This vehicle has 3500KM on it. I do not remember the gas pedal vibration when I first bought it new (2 months ago). Once it clicks into gear, the vibration is gone. Very mild vibration at this point, and like I say it happens on acceleration in between kicking into gear.

I have a 2003 Grand Caravan. Loaded mini-van and have been very happy with it. How ever it sometimes has a issue going to second gear. Sometimes it smoothly slides into second, sometimes it shrugs and stays in first for a second, then try's for second again and makes it smoothly. Anyone ever seen this before? Could it be a band that needs adjusted, or just the beginning of a dead transmission. Other than that, the transmission is extremely healthy and energetic. I am searching for a site that lists the transmission upgrades (Flash Programming update) and what they fix but I have not yet found one.

Thnx,
MikeyIndiana

on my 2000 grand caravan i went to have the oil sending unit changed the parts store had given me the wrong one so the old one had to be put back on for one day the oil light did not come on but it wasn't as warm outside as it had been, the next day the oil light did come on but still not like before the old one had been taken off and put back on,could it be just a loose wire by the sending unit, or the elements in the oil have broken down, the van seems to run ok,any ideals on what it could possibly be

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan transmission question. Do you own one?

If you own a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and are going down a long steep hill and drop the transmission down to # 3 or # 2 in order to hold the Van back, that will work as long as you have the breaks to hold the transmission in that range, if you don’t apply the breaks or you lose your breaks the transmission will automatically shift up to the nest higher gear putting you into freewheeling, if you don’t believe me try it. Forget about the emergence break it locks when you push it on, which will put into an uncontrolled skid.
Is this normal?

Is there a computer chip in the 1998 Dodge Caravan Sport that needs to be replaced?

I have a 1998 Dodge Caravan Sport and it use to it stop running even if I left my house in the morning and go to a store, by the time I come out it leave and go home, it will not start . I have had the car towed and then had the transmission replaced. The mechanic ran it on the computer and there was no errors that came up. Even after all the testing my car still stops, but the mechanic told me that the problem is in the dashboard. So when the cars stop, I will bang on the dash board a couple of times and then it will start up. After it starts up again, the check engine light, oil light, alarm light and the ABS light stays on for a couple of days. All of the gauges will stop working as well. My other problem is the right sideof the car front and rear windows will not open. Sometimes, if i bang on the front window, it will open. But I will have to bang on to close it as well. If anyone can help me with this problem, I will appreciate it. I do not have a lot of money to keep taking it to mechanic after mechanic who do not clear the problem.I am open to any and all suggestions. Thank You Anna

I'm getting a wobbly feeling(like something is loose)underneath the front driver side when going over small bumps in the road. Anyone know what this could be and give an estimation of the cost of the repair?

Also, this van didn't come with the owner's manual so I can't seem to find out how to let my kids watch a movie on the DVD player using the wireless headphones and I listen to the radio at the same time. Anyone know? I don't have a 6disc changer if that means anything. Thanks!

Coolant leak in 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport 3.3 L engine.

Hey, have a coolant leak that I am having difficulty locating. I have a dodge 2001 Grand Caravan sport with a 3.3 L engine. The leak was originating from behind the alternator so we took the serpentine belt loose and removed the alternator for further inspection. We have illiminated the hoses and the lower intake manifold gasket, they are not leaking. The water pump sits below the leak so we think we have illiminated that as well. We see a pool of coolant collecting at a gasket which apprears to be where the timing chain cover mounts to the motor on the top side. It does not make sense why its leaking at this location since from what we understand, only engine oil accesses the timing chain area. The block is not cracked. The engine oil is not contaminated nor the engine run poorly. Is there something that we are overlooking? We pressurized the system to about 10psi and are getting 20-40 drips per minute. Could the back side of the lower intake manifold be leaking around the backside of the motor and pooling up at this location?

Thanks for you help, Steve

Hesitation on my 1991 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Our 19991 Dodge Grand Caravan with the 3.3 engine has 141,000 miles. We bought it in 2001 with 106,000 miles and had the trans rebuilt at about 115,000 miles. We've never had any problems and it runs super around town in day to day city driving. The problem I'm having now is is after its been driven on the highway for 5 or 10 minutes it starts hesitating and backfiring and although it doesn't stall it wont go over 30/40 mph. If you pull off the road and let the van idle for 2 or 3 minutes then shut the engine off and start it up it runs perfect. Now with that being said it may run for a half hour or 5 minutes then may start bucking and hesitating again. There are no codes showing in the ECM either. As far as maintenance goes the plugs are almost new and we just changed the "Fuel Pressure Regulator" and fuel filter. Now I thought maybe fuel pump but when fuel pump goes ,it goes and its done. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Why does my 98 Dodge Grand Caravan transmission stick in kick-down gear going up mountain inclines?

1998 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.8 V6, Auto, FWD, 95k. Going up into mountains. Trans stuck in kick down gear. Drove for miles before I could pull off. Let it cool down and started up again. The engine temp gauge was warmer than normal, but not hot. It then did the same thing. In town, highway, accelerating otherwise, the trans does just fine. Fluid/filter service a couple of times through the 95k miles

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan transmission problem.

Does not go into reverse when shifting from park. But does if shift to drive then back to reverse. Was also not shifting past 3rd gear but I replaced the OSS and I think that fixed that problem. Speedometer goes up to 60mph and jumps back and forth when selecting gears.

I pulled the following codes
P0700 Trans Control Sys Malfunction
P1794 Manufacturer Control Transmission
P0720 Output speed sensor circuit Malfunction

I replaced the OSS hoping that would solve my problem but it only fixed the auto shifting while driving. When I pulled the old OSS out it had a few metal shavings on the magnetic part. I think the failure of the old one was due to the build up of shavings. Any input on what else might be wrong? Should I try replacing the Trans Control?

Thanks
How do I get the headphones to work in a Dodge Grand Caravan?

This is for a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan with factory dvd. The head phones are wireless. The only have an on/off button and volume control. They look different than the ones pictured in the owner's manual so maybe they are not the stock headphones (I just purchased the vehicle used). Plus the ones in the the owner's manual have a scan button. I put fresh batteries in them, and you can hear a little pop in the speakers when you first turn them on, but nothing else.
