I had the reverse servo replaced about a month and a half ago. The battery and alternator was replaced 2 weeks ago. 1 week ago, it started stalling after warm up. Now mainly in reverse, after warm up. I have replaced the IAC,IAT, MAP, spark plugs, Dist rotor, camshaft sensor in distributor, both speed sensors (in diff housing and transmission), neutral/backup safety switch and coolant temp sensor. No engine light ever comes on, and it will always start right back up but still stalls.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9. The trans was replaced at 89000 miles with a rebuilt dodge trans. I now have 129000 miles and my transmission just started shifting funny. sometimes it shifts fine and sometimes it seems like it slips when shifting from first to second gear.
other than this problem all other gears seem to be fine.
does anyone have an inexpensive answer for me?

I have to manually shift to low take off what seems like second gear . The truck just turned 39,000 miles.

My 1996 Dodge Ram has had problems shifting from second to third recently, which is a potential sign that the bands might need adjusting. The transmission fluid should probably be changed anyways, so I figured I would take a look. As I was looking through a repair manual, I noticed the number of turns used to back off the adjustment screw depends on the type of transmission. Here's the eight options - A727, A518, A998, A999, A-500, 42RH, 46RH, 47RH. The truck has an automatic trans with o/d. Can anyone show me where to start?

What I wanted to do was tell sandman that the tach is not faulty as engine itself revs up and down 200-400 rpms. It is a 5.9 L engine. Rpms are erractic even when idling when engine is warm also. Rough roads seem to make it erractic more so. No it does not need a new tach.

problem has been occuring since the truck was new, first noticed on the way home from picking it up! dealer has checked suspension, u-joints.all
four tires have been balanced once, the rears twice - no change.can happen at nearly any speed as long as you are under light throttle-driving easy
or going up inclines its very noticable.trans does not seem to be slipping
but not sure-its always acted the same way.no codes have shown on diagnostic.makes no noise.no smell.no shake in steering wheel.its felt
in the seat of your pants, shakes the whole truck.my gut feeling is a fluid
flow problem.torque converter,valve body or even a bad filter.dealer can't
i.d. so they are reluctant to do anything without a service bulletin.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab w/ a 360 v8. I took my truck to aamco for a tranny rebuild last october. its been in & out of their shop 5 times since then for various reasons. i just got it back after 2 weeks of them working on it, & there's still problems. once the truck gets warmed up, every time i step on the gas & the passing gear engages it over revs & hits the rev limiter &wont shift out until u stop accelerating. aamco said to drive slower so the passing gear wont have to kick in. i said thats bullsh..! whats going on here?

The error that Dodge saw when my check engine light came on was a leak in one of the hoses. Also, the computer needed a software update? Anyway, they fixed those problems...and the truck still jumps. I put a gas treatment in it, so far so good. As my gas tank gets low though, the problem starts all over. Maybe it's coincidence...or maybe you are on to something with the gas pump. Thank you very much for your help!

I have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500, 2 wheel drive automatic with the 4.7 liter engine. The problem is an erratic idle that comes and goes. The problem is most noticeable after coming to a complete stop. The rpm,s will oscillate between 600-1000. Sometimes the engine will quit completely. This occurs with the transmission in drive or park. All maintenance called for in the manual has been performed, including replacing filters, spark plugs. The truck has just over 50,000 miles on it. I have taken it to autozone for a code scan, but no codes were retrieved. This problem has been going in for about a year, but lately it's been doing it every day.

I have a 98 dodge 1500 i was driving and it would not go above 1500. It did not die but once i got it home it would not start again. I replaced the fuel pump and the spark plugs, rotar and cap. I pulled codes and it says barametric pressure sensor that has been out for a year could that make it stop working?

I have a 07 Ram QC 4x4 that I have had for 25 out of a 39 month lease. The payoff is $24K as of today, I can buy a brand new one for $26K all over town WITH the same options. What I want to do is to offer Chrysler $16K cash now for the truck, so total Chrysler will have been paid is $29K.

Will they do this? Now that they are hurting? We all are.

Thanks.

2000 Dodge Ram 5.9L Magnum will not idle when cold and stalls.

My 2000 5.9L when starting in cold weather requires me to start with the gas pedal part way depressed.I must keep pumping the pedal for approx.7 Or 8 minutes @ 30 degree tempture, longer times at colder temps. If i take my foot off the gas it will stall instantly. When it warms-up enough to idle on its own,the idle is very erratic, bounces from 350 to 600 rpm and stalls

Whenever i hit the brakes. After about 20 minutes of this warm up crap it Runs perfect. After sitting an hour or more,i start it & no idle unless i Pump the gas pedel constantly to re-warm the motor.

No check engine,no obd2 codes,ever.

I have replaced the spark plugs & set gap exact to spec.

I have on 02 Dodge Ram1500. Transmission is begining to shift hard, any suggestions?

recently my truck has started shifting hard as I accelerate slowly, easy take off, moving intown traffic from light to light. It shifts fine in an accelerated take off, like going on to the interstate. I'm thinking it might be a clogged sensor or maybe a bad o2 sensor. Any suggestion on where to start?
