How much horsepower and torque does a throttle body spacer and a intake manifold spacer give to my 281 4.6 ?

I'm looking for bolt on power, and I have intake manifold spacers and throttle body spacers to choose from. They say added mpg and torque, but I'm not sure, and would like other opinions from people who know from their own personal experience.

Just wondering, are there aftermarket manual transmission available for sale? If so, what stores sell and install them? What brands are the best? Are such aftermarket transmissions reliable? Is it possible/feasible to replace an automatic tranmission with an aftermarket manual?

My 1987 (New to me) Vantage Volante V/585 engine with EFI has no torque and requires 4000RPM to maintain 90MPH. Plugs, wiring, etc have been changed. Runs about 200HP on Dyno. Should be near 310?? What modifications can be made to the engine and/or transmission to improve torque and high end performance?

I know it would be easier to just sell and buy a 4x4 but I would rather not. I also know that it is expensive to do something like this. I am seriously considering installing a K&N complete cold air intake (CCA), configured as a short ram, in my '02 Protege. It's a great car, but 4th and 5th gear acceleration can be slow, especially when the air-con is on. According to K&N, I should expect a 5 hp improvement at around 3500 rpm. (In 5th gear, my car does 70 mph at 3300rpm and 80 mph at 3800 rpm.) My issues are:

1. How much of an improvement in 4th and 5th gear acceleration will I see with a 5 hp increase? Will it be noticeable?
2. Compared to my stock intake, what are the chances of my car being damaged by water with the short ram? (This is the reason I'm not considering the cold-air intake configuration at all.)
3. What are the issues/possible problems with short rams? Is it worth installing a short ram? Can they affect the longevity of my engine?
4. I know where to buy a short ram, but not where to get it installed. Do dealers install short rams? If not, where else can I have them installed? How much does it typically cost for installation? (I don't want to risk installing it myself.......)
