reply to your questions about my 1995 gmc sierra

New to this site...not sure how to post a reply.
My 1995 sierra is a 1500 4x4, and has a 4-flat plug on the bumper. I saw blue and orange wires by the fuse relay block, and again taped in the wiring harness by the back bumper. Also , the seven blade plug I have plugs in to the 4-flat plug on my bumper...four wires come out of it (the wires I am inquiring about). A white ground wire, black - auxillary power aide, blue - electric brakes, and purple - reverse. I need to know how those wires attach, and how to wire the Activator under my dash.

I need a truck to tow a 3 ton boat+trailor with a 2 ton cab over camper. 2006-2009, ext cab, long bd

What price would be a great price for whatever you recommend? How can I get the best deal on it?

We live in WA and have two kids so we are must have ext cab and want a long bed. We don't want to be on the low power side because we are new to towing this much stuff and don't want to get stuck on unexpectedly steep launches.

We have to stay under 30K but what is a 20K option?

Creature comforts should accommodate cold winters and hot summers. What tires do I need? What am I missing?

Does anybody know it a Toyota Prius can be safely towed on all fours behind a RV?

I need to tow a Toyota Prius behind a motor home using a tow bar that will tow the Prius on all fours. The tow bar installer isn't sure a Prius can be towed on all fours.

My local Toyota service reps have been no help getting me an answer.
I've seen plenty of warnings from Toyota against towing with a Prius and even some telling how to properly tow a Prius (on two wheels). But I can't find anything that warns against towing on all fours.

I noticed the standard Highlanders sold in the US are rated to tow 2000lbs and a towing package consisting of: the hitch, heavy duty radiator with oil cooler, 200watt fan coupling, transmission oil cooler with water cooler, 150amp alternator and wiring harness is an optional accessory. Canadian Highlanders have standard specifications of towing 5000lb. Am I to assume that the integral upgrades (ie. the heavy duty radiator with oil cooler, 200watt fan coupling, transmission oil cooler with water cooler, 150 amp alternator) are standard in the Canadian models?

Can the tongue weight limit on the vehicle be increased by use of a weight distribution hitch? (Toyota Highlander)

The 2008 Highlander Sport has a tongue weight limit of 500lb. The trailer I wish to tow has a dry hitch weight of 511lb and a Unloaded Vehicle Weight of 4000lb. Assuming that the tongue weight is 600lb when loaded, the trailer technician advised me that I can still tow this trailer with a weight distribution hitch because the weight would be distributed over the front and rear axles. Is this a correct line of thinking? or would the torquing generated by the weight distribution system be too much for the bolts on the hitch were its attached to the vehicle? In other words, is the tongue weight limit there to prevent the dead weight from lifting the front of the car therefore affecting steering and braking, or it is there so we would not exceed the structural integrity of the hitch?

I wold like to know whether anyone has successfully done this. The total load pulled is probably on the order of 300 lbs. is all. Are there electrical hook-up needs outside the normal for trailer lights with the Prius? It seems that I saw on some chat board that people were using their Prius to pull light boats an trailers.

Sonoma 2001 has GU6 3.42 axle and 29,000 miles on it.
Gulf Stream Amerilite 21MB camper weighs 3,300 pounds and we would put no more than 300 pounds in it, likely less. We buy groceries when we get there and do not haul water. We camp at the same place all the time, one hour from home, 50 miles one way, and get there on 2 lane country roads with light traffic. Would it be crazy to buy this camper and think we could pull it with our Sonoma? Booklet says it can pull 6,000 pounds... but I just don't know; this is a small truck. We have no hitch now and would have to have one mounted to the truck. Dealer said we would not need a transmission cooler; is that true? All info, opinions and experiences appreciated. Thanks for any help.

Can a Ford Escape pull a travel trailer with a GVWR of 3100lbs?

i want to buy a mini travel trailer which has a dry weight of 2,100ibs, and a GVWR of 3100lbs, but i don't want to go for a large SUV to pull it. I've read on the Ford Towing ratings document that a ford escape will pull 3500lbs. i only intend to tow for a maximum of 10 weeks a year, but i will also need to use the vehicle to drive to and from work, which is 110km each way, so fuel efficiency is important. Larger SUVs like explorer, tahoe, etc have low fuel efficiency, and are too big for me to drive.
can you give me any advise.

My Wife and I are interested in purchasing a 2009 Surveyor model 300 travel trailer that has dry weight of 6300 lbs. Trailer length is 33 ft bumper to tongue. Tow vehicle is a 07 Chevy Suburban 5.3L with 3.73 ratio. Tow limit is 7000 lbs on the trailer with 4200 on the rear axle. I am comfortable with the margin on the rear axle limit, but am looking for some advice on the trailer limit. We weighed our vehicle and will be within the 13,000 max vehicle and trailer, but will be close. Most of our travels will be less than 2 hours from home on relatively flat grade. Also, we are looking at the Reese Dual Cam WD and sway control, as well as the Tekonsha Prodigy brake control, so any comments on those products would be appreciated as well.

Help me please>>> I took deliver on a 2008 Ford F150, supercab 5.4 V8 4 speed auto.I notice that on the invoice it has a axle ratio of 3.31. Called the salesman and he said that was good for towing. The truck is new and doesn't have any pep. I'll be towing a TT about 3800lbs My other truck had a 3.55 axle. The truck had no tow package but the said they would put a hitch and 7 pin electric connector. I checked the towing guid book and found only one 3.31 axle and that was for a 4.2L standard shift.
PLEASE try to answer ASAP so I can talk to ford before it's too late.. Kind Regards, Joe

I have a 2001 Subaru Outback with manual transmission and approx. 150,000 miles (original owner). It is a 4 cyl. engine. I know I can only tow 2000 lbs. and 200 lb tongue weight. I want to tow a travel trailer and it must have a shower and toilet and a refrigerator (not icebox). I will be living in it for 3-4 mos. a year. After alot of searching the only one I can seem to find is the 13' FD LE made by a Michigan company, Cikira. It's weight is 1745 lbs, hitch weight (stated by manufacturer) is 215 lbs. Does anyone have recommendations on trailers? or experience towing a small travel trailer and thoughts on this info? I do know about trailer brakes.
