Ford Aerostar XLT Model 1993 Brake Proportioning Valve leaks

My Ford Aerostar XLT Sport Model 1993 came with two Brake proportionate valve. One of the valve with electrical switch has started leaking when brake pedal is pressed if this can be stopped by using any kind of sealant or the valve need to be replaced. If it need to be replaced where can I get the new or used part.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

94 Ford Aerostar. I replaced the master cylinder and now have a a big vacuum leak between the master cylinder and the booster. Why?

I have a 94 ford aerostar 6 cylinder 4.0 liter and was told the master cylinder was bad at midas. So I replaced it and now have a big vac leak between the master cylinder and the brake boster. Why? The brakes are also extremely hard to press and the car runs rough. I even replaced the boster with a new one and the same problem is still there. What did I do wrong? Can the master be faulty are installed incorrectly?

What size tire does a 1991 Ford Aerostar have?

I don't know the year, but the model is a Ford Aerostar Van. My niece is telling me she needs to replace her clutch master cylinder. I need to know if any of the Aerostar Vans came with a clutch (standard transmission).

How do I replace the head gaskets on a 95 Ford Aerostar 3.0 engine.

1991 Aerostar 4.0 There is no brake fluid going to the rear brakes and the drums also spin, so no rear brakes either. Does anyone know if this could be the RABS Module, Electro-Hydraulic Valve, Anti-Lock Electronic Control Unit, or something else? Thank you! Suzan

1996 Ford Aerostar. Oil leaking under where the engine cover is located. Could this be the oil sending unit?

Oil is leaking on steady basis towards back of engine. It looks like it is just under where the inside engine cover under the dash.

The oil gauge is saying normal. What can this be? I'm having a hard time removing the cover under the dash so I can't tell you for sure this is where it's leaking Can someone help?

91 Ford Aerostar rear brake drums are freely turning and the fluid is not getting to the rear brakes/

Dear Mr. Shiftright,
I have a 1991 Ford Aerostar which I have owned since new and now cars cost too much to ever buy another.I tis real wheel drive and the rear brakes are not getting fluid and the drums spin freely. Would you happen to know why and what I should fix? The mechanic who did the front brakes suggested a part that I am not seeing listed in my Repair Manual for Aerostars, called a 'Proportioning Valve'. I just replaced the front disc brakes and rotors. When I press the brake pedal the pedal goes almost to the floor and then while stopped it starts to roll and the pedal goes the rest of the way to the floor. The brakes squeak loudly.

when it rains or there is moisture in the air the 1992 aerostar van will not start it just cranks and wont turn over, could this be associated with a bad rotor button or the vacuum lines in any way?

What should the low pressure side be charged to on a 1993 Ford Aerostar using R134a.?

hi my 92 aerostar 3.0 179k mi. was runnig fine until today after changing the IAC that fix the idle. now while i'm going down the road or sitting still it just dies and will not restart.when i take off the aircleaner from the T/B and start it, it runs rough and stalls then when i shoved the aircleaner hose back on before it stalls it smooths out and run great. its done this 4 times in about 100 -125 mi. also my milage has droped off from 16 to 12 mpg

The fuse is good and I replaced the hazard switch. Still no turn signals or hazard lights.

starts after priming. runs rough for a while then smooths out when warm.
fuel pressure 80psi after fuel filter.

Replaced switch with another one same symptoms exist. with switch off you can grab wipers at the bottom of travel and they will stop in their resting place.

I own the 88 Aerostar, and bought an 87 Aerostar. The tranny's look identical, but when I bolt the older tranny to the 88, the flywheel binds and wont turn. The trannnys look identical in every aspect.

Ford Aerostar, replaced battery & solenoid. When ignition is off fuel pump keeps running. Do i have solenoid wired wrong?

1987 Aerostar van. v6 replaced battery & solenoid switch. van set over night and the battery [new] was dead. recharged battery and with ignition off could hear the fuel pump running. disconnect battery and it quits. what is the proper wiring of the solenoid?

I dropped a breaker bar on the battery and it arced across both terminals now I have nothing as far as power. Ford Aerostar.

I have a problem with my ford aerostar xlt van, the speedometer and some of the lights, including the interior lights, air bag light stays on, checked the standard fuses, could it be one of those other things on the fuse board, sorry but I dont know much about vans or autos, but notice the metal looking thing on fuse board that thought that might be it, please help as my wife got pulled over the other day cause of the speedometer not working (didnt know how fast she was going)

Turn signals both went out at the same time. Hazard flasher does not work either. Where is the flasher? Ford Aerostar.

1996 Ford Aeorstar cargo van. The turn signal arm works properly but the turn signals do not flash and you do not hear the clicking from the hazard flasher. I think all I have to do is change the flasher for the turn signals to work. Where is the hazard flasher located? What color is it? Can anyone help me?

I DID replace the flasher switch after checking the fuses.

Checked all fuses and they are good, all bulbs are good. All other lights-dash, head, tail, brake lights work fine. Have been told that the turn signal and 4 way flashers have seperate flasher units, and it would be purely coincidental if both of them would go out at the same time. Could it be my multi-function switch in column? If so, any replacement instructions?

Why does Ford Aerostar van lose power up hills and idles roughly? Stalls at stops sometimes, no guts.

1989 Ford Aerostar engine runs roughly in idle. no guts. just replaced plugs, wires and rotor cap. replaced water pump, hoses and belts as was needed. Only got up to 12 miles per hour going up hill the other day. when i punch the gas it doesn't respond with power. transmission fluid is clean and full. It maxes out at about 55mph

I Have a problem with my Ford Aerostar 1996 Van, It has a light that does not turn off in the dashboard. On the driver's side, it says door. I check the fuses and door's and they are good but that light does not go off.

A wire shorted on the ignition switch and now there's no power. Owner's manual says circuit breaker. Ford Aerostar.

1997 Aerostar. Ignition switch on column would not shut off and the van was running so I pulled the diode. Later found out it was the rod in the column that was broken. So I pulled the switch from under the dash and have been squeezing it to start. A wire going into the switch block (yellow) shorted and now I have no power.

Owner manual states problem is a circuit breaker and it's supposed to be located in at the starter motor relay at the battery compartment near the inner fender.

All I see is a block that has a diode and 3 black relays, no colors as stated in the owners manual. I'm lost and it's dark. Thanks for any help.

I have headlights but no instrument or taillights on a 95 Ford Aerostar.

Taillights and parking lights do not work on 1995 Ford Aerostar but fuses in inside are ok.
