I replaced the motor that was in my 1988 Bronco II with a 1986 2.9 V6 motor. Since then I have had to put 3 flywheels on it. The teeth on the flywheel looks as if the starter isn't engaging far enough into the flywheel. I have been getting flywheels for 1986, is there a difference in the 1986 and the 1988?

My rear antilock warning light and Brake warning light came on and stayed on a few days ago. Rear wheels started to smoke and wheels where hot. Next morning, problem gone. 3 days later, same thing happened, felt like I was towing a boat with smoke pouring from wheels. Could someone suggest a cause of problem and likely remedy.
87 Ford Bronco full size 5.0L rear brakes and rear wheel ABS problem.

Okay here goes I replaced front brake pads rear shoes and wheel cylinders bleed system and now I have a problem after install parts above adjusting rear brakes and bleeding system i went to the store about 3 miles or so on the way back went to stop and I noticed brake pedal was hard not to push but just had a hard pedal then I noticed a burning smell which tured out to be rear brake shoes I pulled into drive way and the pedal sank about 2 inches before it would stop. I opened bleeders on rear wheel cylinders and fluid shot out under pressure not much but it was under pressure when I opened bleeders I could hear rear brakes release oh and I forgot to mention when pedal was hard and it sank the ABS light came on. So now after backing off adjustment of rear brakes the b pedal sinks a couple of inches (which I would expect because of adjustment) but the pressure still builds in rear cylinders and the light for ABS comes on I have bleed system 4 times and still no change any help would be great maybe you have the same problem and can save me a couple of hundred dollars in parts replacing im thinking either ABS hyd valve mounted on left frame rail or maybe a master cylinder I would say rear brake line but I dont think it would cause the ABS light to come on

How do you fix a 2001 Isuzu Trooper tranny that started slipping in overdrive once the fluid heats up to normal temp

My auto transmission started slipping yesterday in my 2001 Isuzu Trooper. It only slips in overdrive, and it only starts slipping once the temperature heats up to normal temps. If I let it cool down it will not slip on the way to work once it has rested and cooled to low or room temperature. Is there a cheap fix to this because I was given an estimate between $1,300.00 to $1,800.00 to rebuild this transmission if they have to pull it and re-installed. Please Help.

Lanier,
Georgia

I recently purchased my first Trooper. 91, II, XS, 2.8, 4wd, 5sp. It's base and I want to dress it up some. It also has aluminum (?) panels and I would like to replace those with new or something stouter. Accessories that I'm looking for are hard to find here in OKLA. I'm constantly searching the internet, ebay, salvage (do you know there's hardly any Troopers in salvage...I find that VERY encouraging!) I'm not looking to Tonka it out, but I'd like to find at least a decent roof rack, nerfs, bug shield, (yeah, go figure you can't find one of THOSE!), brush guard, rear spoiler, for starters, at reasonable prices. Anyone have ideas or know what is compatible? Jen

Purchased the Discovery II 3 mo ago used at a local dealership. They did not have the key remote with the vehicle. Tried to order one for me but was told that I needed to take the vehicle to dealership. Closest dealership is 3 hours away. I had plans to travel to dealership next Thursday. Right now, doors are locked and will not unlock. Only one door with key entry is driver’s door. The key just turns and turns. Nothing happens. Online manuals provide suggestions but all require opening the vehicle first. Locksmith said they could only pry door open. I have great vehicle but can't get in it.

The border patrol was using Bronco's and had issues with the frame at the cab and quarter panel bending. I am experiencing binding in my door at the quarter panel and over the past year have noticed it gets worse after being out on trails, and no it's not a door adjustment problem. What is the culprit of this problem and how do I go about fixing it.
There was an article about this in the San Diego paper about 15-17 years ago but I can't find anything about it now.

Are they the same. I was told they were differant (bronco having 13lb & lightning having 19lb) but when I search for replacement ones, it comes up the same part. Does anyone know the real answer? Also, does anyone else have any input to my other question? I want to thank everyone for they're help.......Don
