Question: what are my options if my 2000 Ford Excursion blew a head gasket?

The Excursion does not have a warranty on it. It will cost about 8 grand to get a new engine. I'm not sure what I can do except sell the SUV and just accept the loss. The Excursion has had a lot of upgrades on it, (4" lift, new tires, new brakes, hands free phone system, laptop mount installed, custom made roof rack). I really don't want to get rid of it...but, can't afford a new engine right now.

2000 Ford Excursion ignition theft device (i Lock) broke, can't start truck. Is there a way to get around device?

Anti theft device (i Lock) stopped working on me at store, truck won't start still sitting there. Many phone calls to local (TX) dealership prove worthless. Called dealership in UT where bought, they state either need special bypass device not made anymore and not available or to have ignition re-wired. Pulled cover from under steering wheel, looks like device sparked and maybe shorted out. No bypass option on device. Many wires going into device, 2 small wires coming out to chip reader. Appreciate any feedback with experience on how to solve without having ignition totally re-wired or replaced.

Ford Excursion starts by itself.

I have a 2000 Diesel Ford Excursion with 179K on it. Just over the weekend it went crazy. I was in the house and all of a sudden I heard the truck start to turn over. (There was nobody in the truck and it was in park!). I took the keys out of the ignition and it stopped but then it started to turn over again. It will try to turn over when it’s in park and in reverse even with no keys.

It did notice that there were two very small half moon shaped wires that were melted on top of one of the battery “poles”.

I tried to look at the wiring harness for the steering column; seeing if some wires where touching; but who ever had the truck before me spliced the wiring harness in two and I can’t tell what wires are going where.

Now I disconnected the batteries and of course it’s doing nothing. I hope someone can shed some light on this because I really don’t want to spend thousands of dollars or perform an exorcism on it.
Pretty much summed it up in the question. We disconnected the blower motor to save the drain on the battery and I hate to go spend 500 bucks for someone to replace a fuse....if that may be the problem. Any simple checks we could do at home to rule out easy fixes would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2004 Ford Expedition has electronics that come on by themselves and vehicle won't start.

I have a 2004 ford expedition that electrical accessories come on such as the warning indicators on the dash and radio. When this occurs the vehicle will not start, but if i pull out the #18 fuse i can start vehicle and conditions never happened with fuse out. In addition i opened left rear door and driver side seat moved up on its own. My dealer says they cant isolate the problem when condition doesn't occur because its a intermittent concern. They also suspect possible water intrusion but we are in a extreme drought and have not seen rain in awhile. Has anyone had this problem.
