where do I find the numbers on a dana 4/11 posi rearend. I have a 68/69 elcamino that I was working on and for the pan gasket I had to buy a pan gasket for a 67 olds dana 4/11 posi. now I tried all the chevy pan gaskets and they didn't fit, and on the front of the right axel tube their are chevy numbers. I don't understand can any body help.

I have a 4L60E transmission from a 1999 chev Suburban. I want to install it into my 1978 El Camino. I also have the wiring harness and ECM from the Suburban. What will I need to do to adapt this trans to this vehicle wiring wise to make it work properly?

I have checked for an adapter harness as is available for the 700R4 but I have been unable to find one.
Any help or references would be greatly appreciated.

I have a shifter with 5 stop points which is supposed to be for a turbo. Seems to me it should have 6.

truck does not start without playing with shifter, after a few dozen times the locks will start going up & down then truck might start. electrical or in shifter arm or box?

I have an 85' El Camino with a 350 in it, and a 700R transmission. It used to have a Rochester Quadrajet. I recently replaced that wth a Edelbrock 4barrel performance Carb. The Quadrajet had a post for both the throttlecable and the tranny cable. The Edelbrock only has for the throttle. No auto store I have gone to has any idea what it is I need to attach the Throttle cable to the throttle control arm. But apparently they do know that Edelbrock does not make the part. Please help me out.

Expedition has 93000 miles, minor service has been done to vehicle spark plugs, boots, oil, oil filter, k&n air filter, major work previously done rear end replaced. seems like expo is struggling for air at times, have not changed fuel filter as of yet. while idling feels ok except for mminor vibration, while accelerating will have trouble between 1000 - 2000 rpms and obvious lack of power. only vehicle for family please help!

I purchased a Dealer uses 2008 Ford Exp-Limited. I have had the truck for less that 2- months. There is a noise at the left dash that goes away when pressed. Dealer cannot find a problem but the noise is still there. Also, recently, there is a loud grinding noise coming from the back ofthe truck on reverse. There is no problem driving forward?

Ford corrosion warranty is 5 years/50,000 miles. Both are surpassed. The gate is alluminum and I think there may be some electrolisis going on at some sort of bonding spot. Maybe at a weld spot. Is anyone experiencing something similar?

I bought a 2006 Ford Expedition back in 07'. I want air ride suspension. Not trying to make it too fancy or trickish, I just want a more luxurious ride. My neighbors Expedition has air ride(which came with it), and his Expedition's ride performance is a hell of allot smoother than mine. I'm in the Baltimore Maryland area and if anyone can refer me to a performance shop who can make this dream a reality, I'd appreciate it. Or a website where I can order the entire kit. I've visited several websites that sell air ride kits, but it's hard to find one specific to my year vehicle.

Hi gang - I've gotten quotes from $815 to $550...what is truly a fair price to replace the steering gear? Pep Boys says they can get the part for $400, but the labor will be $175 and included a power steering flush for another $50 for a total of about $620. Is this a rip off?

squeak coming from front end at real slow speeds. shop checked wheel bearings and they where fine. they also turned rotors. still makes noise. does not make noise over 10 mph. also sometimes can hear and feel a small grinding noise when accelerating from a stopped position.

Any other possible solutions to taking out a spark plug with a cross-threaded bolt, without taking out motor? Ford Expedition.

My 2005, very low milage Expy. (EB) wonders slightly when driving on Interstates. It seems slight irregularities in pavement cause vehicle to wonder causing me to continually make little corrections to keep it straight. I would like to replace the OEM front shocks with some aftermarket HD replacements. Are special tools such as spring compressors required? I inquired about having a shop do work but price seemed quite excessive.

driving today after 20 miles highway,turn right off an offramp and expensive sounding noise from driveline starts, clunking/grinding along with heavy vibration. never any noise at all until today.transfer case fluid fine, no metal in differential housing .some driveshaft play. any ideas

At steady speeds in cold weather my expedition develops a loud whistle. The Ford tech i spoke to referred to this as ambient cold air hoot. At temps below 30 degrees the intake manifold makes this noise due to the colder more dense air. I haven't found any answers to this problem. I would appreciate any input that may help.

1998 Ford Exp. with Air Ride. The rear suspension goes out EVERY year. I even had the Ford dealership do it and one month after the year the thing went out again. This time I don't think it is that bad. My mechanic got under the hood and press something. the rear came up. He thinks its a leak but I don't trust his thinking. he is a one shop mechanic and i don't have money to keep trying this and trying that. Can I find an Air Ride Bypass Kit and be done with it? Ford does not sell them but mentioned a specialist shop might. Any suggestions?

My 01 Ford Expedition has been running great but slowly it began to run a little rough when you slowly start to accelerate - a sort of "stumble" not like missing would cause. It also has this stumble when cranking at times. It slowly got worse until I sprayed cleaner on the Mass air sensor. This seemed to stop it right away, but after a week it began to reappear. I also kept feeling a very subtle roughness come and go and finally found that there is a noticeable roughness at exactly 750 not above and not below 750. As I drive an the RPMs float through 750 I feel it. But its not like the stumble I feel some times. I may have two different problems here but the one I am trying to fix is the stumble when cranking and driving.

When I cleaned the MAS it at least seemed fix it for a while so I must be in the right area of the problem. I am wondering if the MAS is going bad.
I hear they are $200 so its a big deal to just try it and it doesn't fix the problem.

Stats: No CEL, no codes No other problems, plugs changed, fuel filter changed, idle position sensor changed.

I am going to look at a 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer with 128,000 miles on it. They are asking $11,500. Truck looks meticulously kept and he says he has records of all oil changes every 2000-3000 miles. No accidents, never had an issue. How many miles can I expect to get out of this vehicle. Will it run to 200,000?
