my car has a procharger/intercooled system. injectors have been change to and the air meter calibrated. full long tube headers and cat back system. car only has 39,000 miles. while driving it the motor felt like it lost power and started making a ticking noise on the drivers side valve cover. i shut it off and had it towed to my house. the car has been sitting in my garage for about a 1 1/2 now. i took valve cover off and started motor and did not hear any noise. no marks on the valve cover. checked all the rollers and springs and they seemed o.k. put cover back on and noise started again. today i received a call from dealer i took it to and he advised i had stretched the rods and need a engine replacement. he advised without taking anything a part that i must have ran the car at a high rpm with a lot of boost and stretched the rods. if so does anyone think i need a brand new motor. or is it possible to even stretch the rods in this motor. i dont know if the rods are steel or aluminum. any suggestions would be great. thanks k. I have a 2000 SVT Ford lightning and I've been having a problem with the super charger inner cooler reservoir burning coolant that has continued to get worse and worse. I've pressure tested the system and it holds pressure. It is not the cap, it does not leak, there is no indication of coolant on the spark plugs which tells me it is not burning up in the motor and there is no sign of coolant in my oil. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone tell me what is going on or how I can fix it. I just can't figure it out.

i have a 96 Ford SVT Cobra. I want to put the Eibach Sportline lowering kit on it. Is that a good idea?

Looking at a Jeep Wrangler 4 door, Ford Sport Trac, and Honda Ridgeline. Light off road, sand mainly. Any thoughts?

Have owned Wranglers and they are always in the running for me. Spend a good deal of time in the car so I am looking for something comfortable but also able to put the fishing rods on the roof and drive up the beach or hunting clothes/dog in and head into the woods.

Fuel pump relay not working, no spark, no fuel injectors. Ford F-150.

My truck just quit. In checking for troubles, I found that the fuel pump relay does not stay closed. It pulls in for about 1-2 seconds when the key is first turned on, then it opens.

It will close and stay energized if I ground the #6 test port on the ECC, and I get gasoline pressure at the pressure test port.

I do not have spark to the plugs, but do have power (12 vdc) to the coil. I called a supply house and got the ohm specs for the coil and it is within the range they gave me.

Where do I go from here?

am installing hayden trans. cooler and fitting that came with kit is too short. i want to run steel lines from new correct fitting to cooler & back up to original return line with as little rubber hose as possible thank you.

I have a 2000 F150 XL and most of the time the analog indicators do not come on for some time.

My 2002 F150 dash indicators, MPH, Tach, Fuel, Oil, etc analog indicators/gauges do not come on immediately when the ignition is turned on. Sometimes it takes them over an hour to activate. Seperately, the odometer does not indicate immediately all the time either, but it is collecting the miles data as it does show additional miles when it finally comes on.

Anyone have a similiar problem and have a resolution?

while driving on 2 wheel drive for some reason or another my transmission switches to a nutural mode, I can put it back to drive by playing with my 4 wheel drive shift stick but i struggle to put it back in drive. I learn by putting foward preassure in the 4 wheel drive stick I dont have any problems. when I put it on 4 wheel drive the front wheels will not lock up but the trucks acts like is low 4 wheel drive but wheels are not locked

I was driving around my property yesterday and went to backup, put the trans in reverse and nothing happened. It would go in drive but acted like it was in neutral when I selected "R". I got on the road and it started slipping in drive so I pulled it over into a parking lot where it now sits.

I got a diagnostic scan done at Advance auto parts cause my transmission has been shifting rough and it shifts at a much higher RPM now. Plus my speedometer quit working along with my odometer. But a trouble code I got was this-
P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor A Malfunction

I don't know a whole lot about cars. I just have general knowledge. But I just need to know if this is something I can check/replace on my own, because I can't afford to put my truck in the shop right now.
I would really appreciate any info you could give me.

(truck has just over 93,000 miles)

3 weeks ago my husband's truck starting running rough especially after it would rain. He did all the usual pm stuff with the plugs and wires. It still did the same thing. Since then he's replaced the coil, ignition switch, found a bad wire, changed the lock cylindar (he was having problems with that before and figured better change it)and the stator. Then we found out that the starter had a bad cellunoide (have no idea if that's spelled right) so that's also been changed.

Right now we're trying to get the timing set correctly we were told that it should be 12 degrees after top dead center...that doesn't seem to be right yet. We've also heard 8 or 10 degrees btdc none of those seem right either.

One more thing though...I had to use the truck, and I really didn't notice the truck bucking when breaking. When it got up to around 49-60mph the truck would shake/buck really bad but it would be smoother above or below those speeds. I don't know it's all really strange to me, plus when you're just standing still like at a light/where ever the truck is having problems with idling - it sounds/feels like it wants to quit.

Help me please>>> I took deliver on a 2008 Ford F150, supercab 5.4 V8 4 speed auto.I notice that on the invoice it has a axle ratio of 3.31. Called the salesman and he said that was good for towing. The truck is new and doesn't have any pep. I'll be towing a TT about 3800lbs My other truck had a 3.55 axle. The truck had no tow package but the said they would put a hitch and 7 pin electric connector. I checked the towing guid book and found only one 3.31 axle and that was for a 4.2L standard shift.

new power steering pump on, since then, it has broken the idler pulley that came with, auto parts assures me they are giving me the correct one, keeps slinging belt over ps pulley. idler pulley is align when belt is off. can you send me a diagram of the correct pulley's and also the correct part#'s for tension pulley and alternater, also a front view diagram?? I noticed today that my truck is leaking a lot of water from the exhaust, so much that it looks to be leaking from the muffler as well. It hasn't rained or been in water in quite some time so we can rule that out, and it is a colorless and odorless liquid so I am assuming it is water. It only leaks when it is running, what gives?
