I have a 96 Ford Cobra. Took it to local dealer with engine noise. They advised I had stretched rods and need a new motor.

my car has a procharger/intercooled system. injectors have been change to and the air meter calibrated. full long tube headers and cat back system. car only has 39,000 miles. while driving it the motor felt like it lost power and started making a ticking noise on the drivers side valve cover. i shut it off and had it towed to my house. the car has been sitting in my garage for about a 1 1/2 now. i took valve cover off and started motor and did not hear any noise. no marks on the valve cover. checked all the rollers and springs and they seemed o.k. put cover back on and noise started again. today i received a call from dealer i took it to and he advised i had stretched the rods and need a engine replacement. he advised without taking anything a part that i must have ran the car at a high rpm with a lot of boost and stretched the rods. if so does anyone think i need a brand new motor. or is it possible to even stretch the rods in this motor. i dont know if the rods are steel or aluminum. any suggestions would be great. thanks k.

I have a 2000 SVT Ford lightning and I've been having a problem with the super charger inner cooler reservoir burning coolant that has continued to get worse and worse. I've pressure tested the system and it holds pressure. It is not the cap, it does not leak, there is no indication of coolant on the spark plugs which tells me it is not burning up in the motor and there is no sign of coolant in my oil. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone tell me what is going on or how I can fix it. I just can't figure it out.

It has been into a garage and has had a diagnostic but nothing showed up, the mechanic took it for a drive in the hopes that it wouldn't work but guess what! It woudn't NOT work. It is a mystery!!!! I spoke to an RAC man today and he thinks it could be a relay of some sort. Can anybody shed any light on this PLEASE???

Flickering lights on 2001 Ford Focus 5 speed sedan

In August we had a new clutch, slave cylinder, seals etc. and a used tranny installed. Since then we've encountered off and on issues. On cooler days we'd see flickering dashboard lights & flickering headlights. Lately the problem has been more frequent - it seems to happen during colder weather. It has occured when I initially start up the car. Today, when initially started the car, the flickering started (dashlights went out and the guages swept). It appeared that when I depressed the gas and put the clutch in gear the problem went away. However, my husband has experienced headlights flickering at night while driving down the road, door ajar light comes on dash, sterero goes out, battery light went on. He encountered the same problems as above except that it seemed to him that a split second shut down occured. He's also experienced the flickering when he's approaching a stop sign. We've taken it to Ford & they hooked it up to (OASIS?); it said check chassis grounds & all related grounds were cleaned & checked. The alternator was checked. They couldn't find anything wrong with it & couldn't get it to act up (during a warm day) We replaced new battery recently but symptoms have occured before/after replacement. Its a 2.0 SPI engine. Could it possibly be a voltage regulator????? Any other ideas?

I have a mouse in my wheel! Please assist. 2002 Ford Focus with a squeaking rear shock/strut thingy.

I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTW Wagon with almost 93,000 miles on it. I've never driven a car this long before so I'm in virgin territory.

I've recently notice that a "squeak" has developed and is coming from my driver's rear wheel well area. I am operating on the assumption that it is suspension.

However, today, I noticed that my rear wheels seem to be "off camber" slightly. The top of the wheels are more toward the center of the car, than the bottom of the wheels.

Can these two things be related? And, ballpark, what kind of change am I looking at to fix?

Thank you all very much for any advice you can give.

I have a 2001 Ford Focus LX sedan, every time I step on the breaks I hear a hissing sound coming from the pedal, and when ever I try to stop it feels like there is no resistance and then all of a sudden the break bites but does not lock up.

I have a 2006 Ford Focus, its been a great car. Trying to sell it all summer, finally might have it sold..Went to with the potential buyer to test drive it and the emergency brake is stuck and won't release the left rear tire.. It's been sitting for two months, since the last person test drove it with no problems what so ever.. Could it be because its been sitting for two months with the emergency brake on and some moister got in there, causing it to not release..
