I have a 2006 Ford Focus. After $2K for a rebuild the gumball still cant get fourth gear to work. Any ideas?

After 2K for a rebuild the mechanic is perplexed as to why I still cant maintain a fourth gear in this automatic 2.0 ltr ford Focus. I'm ready to shake him because I feel that since I brought it to him to get a fourth gear I have paid for the wrong thing to be fixed. The car slipps into and out of 4th gear according to the mechanics but conjecture says it might be the MAF?? Any thoughts or ideas as to why this car is doing this??? HELP!!!

We have a 2005 Freestar SE. We have a chance to get a pair of captains chairs and wonder how much trouble it would be to put these in rather than the bench. Will we have to drill or cut into the frame or are there brackets hidden under the floor mats?

DVD in Ford Freestar entertainment system won't eject.

My 2004 previously owned Ford Freestar came with a factory entertainment system. I was pleased to discover the previous owner left a Bob-the-Builder DVD in the player (a freebie!) My enthusiasm turned to disappointment when I discovered it won't eject. The eject button on the player pulls up a setup menu (I think the player buttons may be fried), but the eject button on the remote sends the right command. The disc disengages but it doesn't "spit out." I unscrewed the player from the ceiling, but the player itself is entirely enclosed. I thought the DVD might be warped, but it does play wonderfully. However, we may ultimately get tired of Bob-the Builder. Will I have to replace the entire unit? Or will I have to get rid of the van when we want to watch something else?

How to get DVD to eject on a 2004 Ford Freestar?

I got a used 2004 Ford Freestar van last year and only now got around to figuring out how to use the factory installed entertainment system. I was pleased to find a DVD left in by the previous owner (a freebie!), but then my excitement waned when I found that it won't eject. It plays wonderfully, but at some point we'll get sick of Bob-the-Builder. Since Bob himself says, "Can we fix it? Yes, we can!" I'm dedicated to tackling this problem. The eject mechanism seems to work part-way. I can hear it humming and it appears that the disk disengages and lifts, but it won't spit out. By the way, the eject button on the player pulls up a setup menu; I have to use the eject button on the remote -- perhaps the circuits are somewhat fried. I've tried inserting a thin piece of plastic -- one of those key tags that the supermarket uses for discounts - to give an assist, but it doesn't help. I've also unscrewed the thing from the ceiling, but the player unit itself is totally enclosed. Any ideas? Or will I have to trade in the van when we want to play another DVD?
