Bancroft162 - You answered ballast12 in the question about the Acadia's towing capacity, referencing the GM AutoBook. Do you have a page or other reference number? My dealer can find nothing, but I would be pleased if my Acadia with the towing packing is rated to haul more than the 4,500 lbs.

I have a 2007 GMC Acadia with 11,800 miles on it. At 1000 miles i changed the factory installed oil and began using Mobile One 5W-30 high performance synthetic oil. I have changed oil every 3000 miles since then using the Mobile One brand.

Recently, Mobile One has been difficult to find because the florida huricane took out thier only manufacturing plant. My question is will it hurt my engine to switch brands over to Amzoil Extended life 5W-30 Synthetic oil?

I like the Acadia & sunroof features; however,I've only been able to find one 2009 comment about the roof which was positive. Other reviews made no mention of sunroofs. I live in Texas & can enjoy the feature often. Has anyone owned a 2009 for awhile and can give me information as to its performance? The older models seemed to have multiple problems. I need more assurance before I purchase. Thanks

Have found an 08 Acadia SLE AWD with preferred and convenience package for $31,000 including a GM supplier discount. Also found 06 MDX with 18K for 29,999. I am trying to select between the 2. I drive about 37 miles each way to work daily - but have 2 kids in car seats and have my parents visit monthly. Need to haul people and cargo en masse about once a month. Need true price for each vehicle, too so I can negotiate wisely.

While test driving a acadia FWD with the salesman we were waiting for red light to turn green. When the light changed, thank goodness nobody was behind us for we started rolling backwards and since there was nobody behind us we let it play out. The vehicle rolled about 18 miles per hour and cut off completly. If this Colorado weather was icy conditions we never would have gotten up this grade for we would have spun the tires. This has left a bad taste for me to buy this beautiful crossover. Can anyone shed some light on this for the salesman was just as mystifyed as I was.
Thanks Sandy

Should I go with a GMC Yukon or an Acadia?

My wife and I are looking at both 2007-2008 Yukons and Acadias. We like different things about each of them, but we were initially leaning more toward an Acadia because of the better gas mileage. However, I just finished reading a forum about the Acadia's mpg, and it seems like people aren't really that thrilled with what they're getting. Whatever we purchase, we'll be using it mainly for city driving, running kids to piano, dance, etc. It seems like people are getting about the same MPG around the city with both vehicles. Is the V6 and 6-speed combination in the Acadia not all it's cracked up to be?

Nissan Armada or GMC Acadia?

My lease is up on my 2006 Escalade XL and I've been looking into all my options. I'm ready to give up the XL cargo space but I do need some cargo, so the Yukon and all lookalikes are out. We are a family of seven, so I'm inclined to get a 8 seater for the convenience. I liked the Toyota Sequoia, but the price was high. I'm afraid the 2009 Honda Pilot might turn out to be too tight. So we are down to the Nissan Armada or the GMC Acadia. The Armada is cheaper on the lease but higher in fuel, whereas the Acadia is higher on the lease but gets better mileage. I am considering the fully loaded ones in both options since we are spoiled with DVD/Nav and all the extras. Please help!!! Any input would really be appreciated.

I like so many features & looks of the 2009 Acadia, but am reluctant to buy because of many comments I've read here. I really enjoy a sunroof (or 2). Is the AW Drive more likely to have the transmission shifting problems? Several Of the 2009 reviews were promising. Is there some hope for me? I want a dependable car that's not in the shop or that requires legal hassles. Anyone know? Thanks.

2007 awd Acadia. We have had several issues in the 1st year and all were fixed. Now almost 2 years later we are having issues with the navigation system freezing and not being accurate and we have the latest update.

Also the rear hatch does not always stay closed...it pops back up.

Also the passenger mirror does not adjust properly, it is very jumpy and not smooth like the driver side.

And another thing is the outside temp sometimes is way off by about 30 degrees!

Anybody else with these issues?

Would you buy a vehicle that was a GMC buy back?

My wife and I are considering buying a 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-2. The price is terrific and the car seems great, but it is a GMC buy back.

The dealership informed us the previous owner complained that the brakes were locking up. The dealership said they have never wittnessed the original issue. Regardless, after so many times at the shop, the car was bought back.

Since, the dealer has been driving the car since December (and has put nearly 18K miles on it) and hasn't had an issue. They're also offering an additional 12,000 mile warranty on top of the factory warranty and the substantial discount. Total miles are around 35K.

Would you make this purchase or stay away? If you would make the purchase, what items would you consider / request of the dealer at purchase?

Anyone have experience with purchasing buy backs?

Thanks in advance!

Any word on hybrid versions for the various GM Lamda crossovers.

The new hybrid system is now on the big trucks and announced for the VUE. It seems like the Lamdas probably should have been first on the list although maybe GM thought they were selling well enough without this option.

I was told the "head" needs to be replaced on my engine, anyone else have this problem? Brand new 2008 GMC Acadia.

I took my car to service this morning because the front end make a funny noise when I hit any type of depression in the road at slow speeds. Sounds like the front axle is loose or something like that. The service tech told me that the "head" needs to be replaced that the new models were made incorrectly. Don't you think that should have recalled the car. They also need to order the part because they are back ordered, does this mean that alot of people are having the same problem.
