I was wondering what the 2004 GMC Sierra Denali had for a drive train. Is it fulltime 4x4 or is it traction assist? Can it be used for off road in soft sand?

Vehicle lights were on at the time. Would that have anything to do with the trailers lights not working now? I looked at the fuses and did not find any blown ones.

2003 GMC Sierra V8 4wd SLT Automatic 144000 km My truck will stall for no reason. It has done this twice at a stop light. The display read "battery not charging", but I had lots of power to turn it over. It started up again, I got to drive it for about 100 feet, then it stalled again. It did this 3 times before I could not get it to move again. It would just start and stall. There is plenty of gas going through the fuel injectors and plenty of power in the battery. It took me about 20 minutes before I killed the battery. I just replaced the alternator on it about 1 month ago as it did the same thing then. After the alternator was replaced it ran fine for a month then started again. The garage I had it towed to cannot find the problem as the truck is now running again, he used the scanner and it came up different codes each time. I had driven the truck about 20 minutes each day that it has happened. Any suggestions on what could be causing this. It has happened twice in cold weather also. I have had this truck since May 07 and never had a problem with it till now.

I replaced the fuel pump, plug wires, plugs (bosch platinum 2's), added a K&N cold air intake, replaced oxygen sensors (all 4 with bosch), tornado in the intake tube. I did all this stuff and went from 10 mpg to 12. i dont understand what the problem is. i heard the factory throttle bodies are junk, and that i should get a 2 barrel tbi. im not sure if a tbi spacer will help me much, since i have a tornado which swirls the air already. my service engine light turns on when i drive the highways, the code is a tranny slip code. im possitive that if it is slipping it definately isnt much. when i power break it, it bogs the motor down pretty good, until the tires slip. although when im on the highway doing about 68 mph, im at 1800 rpm. my truck seems like it is just running too rich at low rpm. it hesitates from idle to rev. thanks for reading, please help.. thanks

I'm getting the message, "RFA 3 BATTERY LOW", in the message center on a 2003 gmc sierra 1500 sle 4x4. Anyone know what this is? I ran OBD-II diagnostics but it did not come up with anything.

the problem im having with it, is that it is that the 4l60E is a piece of junk tranny. i have a tranny slip code coming up, only when i drive it on the highway, i heard that the 3rd clutch is burnt up, by another member on here. everybody i talk to say that tranny along with the 700r are junk too. what is your opinion? is the 4l80E better, and why. maybe if i put a mild shift kit in my 4L60E when i get it rebuilt that would be better. im gettin like 12 mpg on the highway runnin about 1800 rpm doin 65. maybe i just dont understand that with a 5.7 thats all the better im gonna get. but there has to be a way to get at least 16-17, maybe i have to gear it differently thanks alot for your response

It doesn't do it all the time. Only on cold wet days. I have checked all the wires, replaced plugs rotor cap fuel filter. Any good ideas before I take it to the dealer?

my 2000 GMC sierra slt z71 has began idling too slow sitting at red lights,when I take off it sort of bogs for a minute, it's idling at about 400-450 rpm,how does the 5.3 control its idle, has anyone had this problem and what did you do to correct it, please?

Thanks Mr. Shiftright for a reply. I'm still following this problem of vibration. Is the front wheel drive shaft supposed to spin when moving and not in 4 WD? One of the u joints was stuck and replaced but still getting the vibrato from 35 mph to 70 and up.

My 03 GMC Sierra 4x4 at 60,000 miles makes a clunking noise in steering/front end at slow speeds on bumpy roads, especially when turning. Ball joints, shocks, etc. seem to be in good shape. Others have suggested intermediate steering shaft could be the problem? Suggested lubing U-joints in shaft? How do you do this with no grease fittings?

What size speakers came in a 2002 GMC Sierra extended cab pickup? Front and rear factory sizes, or what sizes to buy?

I'm thinking about changing out my factory speakers and I do not know the sizes of the front 4 and the 2 rear. I also have an amp I want installed and maybe a subwoofer too. i have changed the fuel pump(multiple times) fuel pressure regulator,fuel filter,mass air flow sensor,mat sensor. but truck still misfires,back fires, and spits and sputters. throws code p300-random multiple misfire. done a bunch of vacuum tests the intake is not leaking and i recently had my injectors flushed. I am about to light it on fire.

02 GMC Sierra 5.3l starts, runs for a minute, then stalls.

Seems like it runs out of fuel. You can hear the fuel pump come on and it gets fuel to engine not sure what the psi is but there is fuel. when you first start it idles, soon as you put your foot on the pedel it bogs down, release it and it idles for awhile then stalls and won't start. Wait awhile and it starts again. Has new fuel filter on frame rail and check for codes no codes. please help thanks

What should the fuel pressure be at the test port. I get 24psi with key on and guage is up and down on startup. Runs for awhile then stalls guage reads 5-15psi. could this problem be the regulator or fuel pump

I found metal shavings on the bolt to my oil pan on my GMC Sierra 1500. What does that mean? My truck has 190k miles.

Worked fine, then wife tried to put seat forward, and no luck. Heated seats are out too. Fuses and relays and the breaker under the dash are all ok but replaced. Seat still inoperable. Any help appreciated.

The truck is a 2008 Sierra 1500 WT. The truck has electruc locks. Here is what I can find in print. If the truck is equiped with RPO code AU3 (power door locks) then it will have keyless entry and come with 2 FOBs, but if another option 5B5 (power lock, power windows and power mirrors then the keyless entry becomes an option AU0. Okay I can't really say that all of that makes any sense but all the same thats what I am able to find out so far. I quess my real question....is the wiring for the receiver for the keyless entry installed. If so it seems that one could buy the receiver and the FOBs install same and factory keyless entry. It is my understanding that the receiver or wiring for it will be in the rear overhead above the back glass. Thanks for any and all help.

We want to know if anyone else has had camshaft lifter promblems with GMC Sierra 1500? It sent metal into the engine so we have to get a new engine. GMC knows of this problem but its just telling the dealerships to take note of the problems. No recall as of yet? If we fix the problem and then they recall it will we get reimbursed?

I have 1994 gmc sierra 4.3l when i accelerate the truck starts to stall out as if something was choking it, i can get it to go fast enough to go into second gear with out it stalling, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel line, plug n wires, have all been replaced, egr valve has been cleaned. Any ideas of whats wrong??

I have a 1996 GMC 1500 v8 5.7L. Doesn't want to start without putting gas into the carburetor.

I have replaced the spark plugs,wires & rooter and before I replace the intake gasket I would like to see if anyone would know what was wrong? It has a vacuum leak somewhere and idles high witch makes me have to put a lot of gas into it. Every time I start it if it sets over in hour I have to put gas in the carburetor for it to start but it starts like that every time.

How do I get the front tire off of a 91 GMC Sierra 6 bolt rim so I can change the brakes?

The replacement part looks like nothing in the door, not sure were to start. Seems there are multiple actuators to choose from and not sure if I have the right one.

I had gears changed from 3:42 to 4:56 and now I have ABS and brake light problems. Local GMC dealer refuses to work on truck. Have tried both the Hypertech Programmer and Speedometer Calibrater but neither helps eliminate the problems. Any help would be appreciated I am located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mechanic told me it would take tech2 to fix it. But stealership is NO HELP. Thanks for any help.

I got charged an hour labor for replaceing lowbeam bulbs on my 06 sierra.Tech says thats what the mitchell manual called for.Took me literally 2 seconds to change myself.

the weather just turned cold ( -20 ) and the first mourning I started the truck heater works fine. Get back from town, turn motor off and heater fan just keeps running. When't back out side in about an hour and fan was still running. Have to take fuse out so it won't run battery down. Also tried unplugging control panel but fan motor continues to run. Any sugestions?

I start-up my truck in the orning after a snowfall and switch heater control to defrost mode. I then clear off the snow and pay particular attention to the vents at the base of the windshield. When I get in the vehicle, the inside is covered ion fine powder snow that was blown in by the fan, causing the moisture to frost the inside of the cab. This is quite annoying and also dangerous. Is this a common problem with this model? Any recommended solution?

I need to replace the 2-3 shift solenoid on my 2000 GMC Sierra and do not know where to find it.
