My 2005 yukon xl is having speedometer problems. What is my best bet to fix this?

I will be driving along and look down to see that I'm going 0mph on the freeway. It will stay at 0 or be about 20 mph under what I think the speed is. It doesn't do this on every driving trip, but enough that it is becoming a problem. The local dealership wants $600 to replace the instrument panel to fix the problem. Isn't this something GMC should be covering?

2003 GMC Yukon XL , the front climate control fan doesn't blow any air, under any setting (heat/def/ etc.)except occasionally. The digital display shows that all is well, but there is no air except a faint breeze when underway. The rear HVAC system is fully functional. The front system still has cool air, so I know the compressor is still doing its job. HELP keep me away from the dealership. Truck has had 78,000 relatively trouble free miles. Thanks so much, OtisK

The vehicle runs great, except this gringing noise gets louder and louder, i had the rear hydrolic pump replaced and it lightened the noise for about a month and half. Then the noise came right back. Its coming from the rear axle like its trying to adjust for the weight in the car then it will stop and i noticed my yukon sits 3 to 5 inchs lower then my dads yukon.

Two noises....When I put the suv in park there is a grinding noise coming from the dash board, GMC blew it off, stating that it happens but nothing wrong??? And now just recently a noticable a high pitched squeel is coming from the front area also. It does when I push on the gas, then stops when I take my foot off the gas pedal. Unfortunately, when I took the suv in for other repairs, it was raining and wasn't making the noise. Any ideas?
2001 GMC Yukon transmission gears disengaging.

I have a 2001 Yukon 1500 (2wd) which started having transmission problems. All was running smooth until a few days ago when I drove through some high water during a heavy rain, now the truck is going no where. I can go out and start the car and the gears engage but after about 5 minutes, you have to really get the rpms high to get the car to do anything, then finally you have nothing. You can then change the gears and it acts like it is not engaging the gear. I can stop the car and let it set for a while and it engage the gear at first, then we get back into the same thing. Any assistance would be appreciated.

obyone,
If I use the hazard flashers or bother the swithch on my 99 Yukon XL, the brake lights won't work. I keep a piece of paper next to the switch to keep the brake lights working properly. Also, there are times when I try to start the engine and it turns over, but will not start. It acts like I have turned it off. If I move the hazard switch it seems to work but then it may or may not affect the brake lights. Could this be just a wire shorting out in the steering column or a problem in the main fuse box under the hood? When I apply pressure on the brake i hear a click noise also. The other day I shut the engine off and after I had the key out I heard several clicking noises and then one louder one. I havent taken it to a dealership yet, was hoping to find some input here. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

Is there a way for a body shop to tell if our newly purchased used GMC Yukon XL was repaired and painted?

We bought a used 2004 Yukon Xl and the paint on the left side is faded in spots, almost looks like white salt spots, the biggest part is the hood. After a few car washes and rain it showed up. It's a dark blue color so it's noticeable.

We are taking it to get the hood painted at a local shop with professionals but I was wondering if there was a way to find out if it was fixed and repainted quickly by the previous owner. The accident history report came back fine. I just worry that more spots might show up in the future. We are getting it painted little by little since it's costly.

Kathy

GMC Yukon XL engine cutting off while driving - any thoughts?

I've got a 2002 Yukon XL that randomly will cut off while driving down the street. The battery light will come on and the engine is dead. It doesn't idle down, it just cuts off? Once pulled over, it turns over, but won't start for approx. 2 - 3 minutes. This happens once ever 4 - 5 days, and is not a regular occurance.

Dealer has no idea? Thought it was the fuel pump, but it is not. Help wanted.

If I bother the hazard switch on my 99 YukonXL, the brake lights may or may not work. Also I may or may not have problem getting the engine to keep running right after it is started, unless i fool with the hazard switch. The other day I turned the engine off and took out the key and for few seconds there was several clicking sounds under the steering column area. Could this be a wire shorting out inside the steering column or a problem with the main fuses under hood? Also, when I apply pressure to the brake pedal I hear the clicking sound. Hope this is not too confusing and that I worded it clear enough for you to understand. Any suggestions you may have will be helpful. I do not want to have to go and pay dealership prices to have this repaired if at all possible. Thanks and hope to hear soon.

obyone,
Do you think the steering column would be a big task and I should just consider taking it to the dealership? Yes, the clicking happened after i shut off the engine and removed the key. It will sometimes start back up and sometimes I have to fool with the hazard switch or take out the key and restart. I appreciate all of your help. Thumbs up to you!!
My 2002 GMC Yukon XL 1500 4x4 hesitates and dies sometimes under heavy acceleration, sucj as passing or towing our 21ft camper. When it hesitates the message center shows the battery indication and everything shuts down. Pulling over and waiting a couple of minutes the Yukon will start and run. I have changed out the Crankshaft position sensor, the fuel filter, cleaned and inspected the ground on the frame and under the hood. Checked fuel pressure under idle going by the Hanes manual, tested good, held pressure. Check engine light is on and codes are 0131, 0151. O2 sensors, not sure if that is the root of the cause. Hate to spent $160 on O2 sensor when the cause is something else. Thanks

2003 Yukon XL with 115K. 4WD switch replaced 15K ago and all fuses are good. Drive system seems to actually work fine. I will try and get a Tech2 code reader but don't trust dealers. My OBDll codes don't indicate anything. Am I needing to reprogram TCCM?

I jumped the fuse box on a 2003 GMC Envoy. All the power for the accessories is gone.

I went to jump the battery of my 2003 GMC Envoy today and my buddy put the cables on the fuse box black and red bolts instead. it drained all of the power for the accessories. I read your reply to someone else with the same problem but no one around here knows what or where to buy a fusible link. All of the power for the radio, windows, locks, etc. will not work at all and all of the fuses seem to by fine both under the hood and in the back of the vehicle. thank you in advance for your help.
