Our 2003 Honda Odyssey gear shift is getting stuck in Park. The only way to make it budge is to repeatedly stomp on the brake. I'm getting nervous that we will be stranded somewhere not being able to shift. The car starts fine, no issues there. We just can't shift out of Park.

Any ideas what the issue might be?

Rattling noise on sliding door Honda Odyssey 2004

We just purchased a 2004 Honda Odyssey but after about a week of driving it we noticed that the passenger sliding door has a rattling sound. We have examined the seals and find nothing wrong there, we have looked for loose items but again nothing. If someone pushes on the door from the inside when it is rattling that seems to stop it. I can only think that maybe the cord that opens and closes the door is vibrating inside the wall but I can't be sure since it is only happening with one door and that door seems to function as the other one and naturally it only happens when the car is moving so it is hard to see what is happening inside the door. Can anyone offer suggestions for what might be causing the rattling noise?

I bought 02 Honda Odyssey last year. Great vehicle, but now have transmission trouble. Any recall advice? Help

2000 Honda Odyssey: driver's seat back tilt switch not working.

Hello. I notice that all of the switches on the drivers seat console work and the seat adjusts perfectly, accept for the seat back. Problem occurred a month ago, when I was adjusting the tilt, it just kept going back and back... seat locked in that position. Next time I started the car, it worked and I was able to adjust to the proper tilt. Now, when I use that particular switch, nothing happens. I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas. Thank you!

Hello all first of all we asked this very question to honda they don't have a fix for this problem every 46,97,123 miles we have replaced a front coil spring because it is broken we take very good of our odi 1999 with 124,000 miles on it. Cost from 400 to 1200 per pop can anyone help us thank you

I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey that has a defective paint job on it. I am a second owner, purchased it from a dealership as a certified vehicle. Recently the paint on the hood, roof and top of both sliding doors are peeling. I took it to the body shop and they confirm it is a defective paint job. But when we contacted Honda, they said they will not pay for repainting. What can I do?

I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey with a DVD player. The headphones work for 5 minutes then they hum.

Went to have car aligned, and was told that rear toe in alignment bolts were frozen. Since bolts are surrounded with rubber bushing, heating is probably not an option. Tried penetrating oil, no luck. How costly and involved is it to have this done by dealer?

I'm looking for replacement tires for a 2005 Honda Odyssey - limitations are the size 235/65/16 - my last set were Cooper CS4 that did not seem to wear well and were very noisy - was looking for comments as fair as Toyo Versado's go?

It seems to make this "whirring" noise when i turn the wheel, especially at slow speeds. Would this be the power steering pump? the resivoir seems full, doesnt appear to have any leaks...I really can't afford to replace it right now. Is this what I get for buying a used car?! Car has appx. 58,000mi on it. Im very sad at this point. Any ideas?

Has anyone gotten an answer as to why there is a significant hesitation/shifting when VCM is engaged in Odyssey?

2007 Odyssey V-6- at 65-70 MPH there is a hesitation/surging sensation. Dealer says it is a normal functioning property within the design of the VCM system. No way can it be normal for both driver and passenger to be jolted forward, and for the spedometer and RPM gauge to change significantly while you are driving at a constant speed. This is more than irritating-it feels unsafe, like the van may die in the middle of the highway. Clearly there is an issue, as many are complaining about the abruptness of the system, while others who have the VCM feel NO disruption. The owner's manuel states the VCM should go undetected by the driver! Has anyone gotten satisfaction from the dealer in regards to fixing this problem?

2007 Honda Odyssey makes an irritating whistling sound at low speeds when brakes applied. Awful in parking decks.

Started with a small sound that I heard only in my garage as I was leaving, now getting worse, was very loud and irritating when trying to find a parking space in a 4 level parking deck yesterday(12-17-08). Originally was only at very low speeds but last night I heard on the interstate when braking at a slightly higher speed.

Paid $469 on Monday(12-15-08) for 60,000 mile service, had brakes balanced, rotated,etc. Honda service mechanic said he drove, but could not hear. I thought once all the work was done, it would help the sound. I think it has gotten worse.

Have Odyssey 2006 Touring. Pax tire replacement.

I have Honda Odyssey 2006 Touring with Pax tires. I need to replace the Pax tires. I was told that I have two options. One to replace Pax tires for $1200 for 4 tires or to replace the pax with alluminum wheels (EX) and regular tires with TPMS for $1800. What would be better choise?

my wife just purchased a 09 ody. i havent been in the car audio scene in sometime, used to install for tweeter many moons ago. she wants a sub in the van but would like the factory one, just a little more sound, my question is the touring model has the 360 watt stereo and ours is the 160 watt. does the 360 run the sub? also would the wiring be under the seat for the sub? i remeber some cars the wiring was there even if the car didnt have the product.

I would like to know if anyone here ever used the fully assembled "Munroe Sensatrac Shocks and Struts" on a 2001 Honda Odyssey and how good are they in the long term? My Van coil springs are broken and it appears that Honda has some issues with these springs so I'm considering replacing the whole assembly.

It seems to be noticed at low speeds on rough pavement, I took it to a dealer a few times about this but never got it fixed always said never heard anything, this time they finally said they heard it but wasn't sure what it was, maybe a strut or they thought I should take it to a body shop and have the body mounts checked, don't really think that is the problem anyone else ever had this kind of problem?

I had Honda replace my ABS modulator because it was allowing air into the brake lines.

Honda dealer repaired it to the Honda of America specs. It is working fine right now.

Should I consider replacing my brake system? I know it is not uncommon to replace rotor and caliper sizes. Is there a good way to retrofit an aftermarket solution to an inadequate brake system? I deem it as inadequate because the vehicle is heavy and I believe that Honda missed the mark on this system and should have invested more money on quality parts.

I am new to the leasing game. I shopped around to several dealers for a lease of a Honda Odyssey 2008, assuming $2,000 down, before realizing I should have negotiated a purchase price first. The best price we have been able to find is $387/month, including taxes. However, the dealers say they are basing this payment on a capitalized cost of $30,770. Yet, they offer an internet purchase price $1,000 lower. They say this is because Honda has a $1,000 dealer incentive for purchases which was confirmed in another posting. However, it still seems like we should be able to negotiate a lower capitalized cost, especially since they are advertising the purchase prices of 30,770, meaning there must be some room to negotiate. I asked for the vehicle Vin numbers to try to determine the dealer's actual cost. Of course, they won't give it. I don't know the residual or money factor but plan to ask. I just hoped you could tell me if this monthly lease payment sounds like it is the ballpark, or should I be able to negotiate the capitalized cost down. None of the dealers seem to be budging below this number, and some won't even meet this number. They also are telling me that this lease price is based on a lease incentive that ends tomorrow, Jan. 31st.

The chirp only began recently. The car has 51K miles and had its transmission oil replaced a few years ago. Could this be a brake issue instead? The chirp sounds like a warning, not mechanical.

I have a 99 Honda Odyssey. About a month ago the check engine light came on as well as my TCS light. It checked out as an EGR code. After hours of diagnosis, they tried to just replace the EGR valve. That shut off the code. Then it came on again about a week later, again with the TCS light. My mechanic suspected a faulty master computer because the code was telling him there was a communication problem. They found carbon built up in the intake and cleaned it out real good. This again shut the indicator lights off. Now it has come on again. Someone I was talking to said it sounded like it was a transmission issue. Can anybody tell me if this sounds like a transmission or a computer? The car seems to be running fine otherwise. Thanks.
