Torn leather

How do I repair damage to my Acura TL's leather seats? Last weekend I was doing some work on the cabinets in my office. Part way through I decided to scoot over to Starbucks for a coffee break. When I stepped out of the car, I suddenly realized that I had left a screwdriver in my back pocket that somehow managed to put a broad gash in my car's leather seat. I cannot afford to have the leather replaced at this time. Can you tell me how to repair the damage?

ACURA RSX tail lights. Nearly all silver with rings of red lights that light up in sequence.Where do you get them?

Tail lights I once saw on an Acura RSX (in traffic so I couldn't go over and ask about them). They were clear and silver mostly with no solid red area. There were 2 rings of small red LEDs. One set that all come on at once for a stop, another that go on and off sequentially around the ring (like the loading icon of a computer). I have looked on many sites and have seen nothing like this. I have come across some with silver but they always have solid red circles. The ones I am looking for have a ring of red lights with silver in the middle. Does anyone know who makes these and where they are sold?

Has anyone here changed the low beam head light bulb on a 2003 Acura TL? It is marked danger 25,000 volts may be present even with the car off. I assume its a charged capacitor but if it is how can I safely discharge it? If its something else please tell me. Can you believe a bulb is over $100? I could imagine what the dealer wants to do it.

The driver side heated seat button light has gone out on my 2005 Acura TSX. The passengar side button light is still working. How do I fix it? Do I need a new light bulb? And do I have to remove the entire center console to do this? I was hoping it was as easy as replacing a fuse, but since there aren't any other lights out, I don't think it will be that easy.

'95 Acura Legend. P/S freezes up @15 deg. System need bleeding & new type V P/S fluid?

When the temperature outside gets around 12-15 degrees, you can't turn the steering wheel. There's no belt squeal and have never had a leak. System is full. Do have 140+ K miles, but owners manual nor repair manual I have says anything about changing out and bleeding the power steering system. At the same time, the ABS light comes on. After about 20 minutes, the power steering is normal, and if I turn the ignition off and restart the engine, the ABS light does not come on. I've never had to add fluid, and I know the book calls for type "V" oil for Honda's and Acura's. I live an hour away from any honda service, and most closed on Saturday and Sunday when I'm off. Appreciate anyone's comments. If nothing comes, I'll just have to send the car to Tulsa with my wife during the week. Thanks

I have a 98 Integra that usually idles well but will sometimes, when it is warmed up, shudder slightly at idle and then bounce back. it only occasionally does it. distributor is fine and i just replaced the plugs and wires. do you think this is a vacuum leak? maybe a ecm problem. it has never stalled and has 103k miles. Can you think of anything else that might be causing this?

I have drive a lot, 132 miles round trip a day to be exact for work. I need a good tire that will wear long (I got 85,000 miles on my stock michelins at the moment), be quiet on the road and perform well in the Ohio snow. I have been looking at the Michelin Primacy MXV4s but they are expensive. Any other thoughts on any other tires that might be recommended for a 2003 Acura TL. Thank you in advance for your help!

I have a 93 Acura Legend with the 3.2 that has a cracked block. I ordered a used JDM engine and gave it to my mechanic weeks ago. I do not know this person at all. He claims that he has installed the new engine that I gave him and is almost done tuning it up however I went to his garage and the engine that I bought looked like it was still on the shipping pallet that I gave it to him on. I asked him about it and he told me that it was my original engine and he had to transfer the intake, oil pan, exhaust manifolds etc. to make it fit into my car. So I would like to check the serial number on the engine sitting on the pallet to see if it is really my original engine as he claims.
Thanks
Tim

The Acura had a front end collision and the left suspension bar? was replaced and the transmission rebuilt. There is a groaning and rubbing sound from the left front wheel area when making a left turn. It often does not does this in the very first few blocks but does it after that and continues. I have had it looked at, the rack and pinion steering bushings replaced. Still have the noise. It was suggested it might be struts. I wonder if it could be CV joints? Any ideas?

I have just under 1000 miles on it and I was wondering when I should start waxing the car. The Louisiana summer heat is here so should I start now or is the factory wax sufficient for awhile? Thanks for your time!

Hi,

I'm in the middle of replacing the front pads on my 2005 RL for the first time. I can't seem to get the two halves of the caliper assembly back together. There's a bracket that goes in between the halves where the pins that hold that pads in slot through - it doesn't seem to fit right and so the two halves are about an inch apart. Does anyone know of a website that shows pics/step by step instructions on a brake job for this car? Please help, this is really frustrating!!! Thanks,

Jay

I have an 05 tl that I ordered from the factory. At 30,000 miles I replaced the factory tires with Michelin. Shortly after had fender bender with damage to right front quarter panel(really mad camper). Took car to top of the line repair shop and had 4 wheel alignment. Next rotation (10000 miles) noticed wear on inside edges of back tires. Moved them to front and took car to another alignment shop to verify the alignment. Car was within specks. Shop said not to worry. Now tires with wear in front and by 20000 miles the inside edge is down to steel belt and rest of tire looks virtually new. Buy two new tires(not happy camper) and now the problem has happened on the other two tires. Mechanic says suspension is in good order. No one has a clue. Help!

I hear one distinct knock from under car when first in drive or reverse, only when first moving from "park." Acura CL.

Im getting a knock from under the car when I first put my car in reverse (from park), and when I first accelerate in drive. This is not happening when I first put the car in gear- I happens when the car is allready moving. It is always one distinct knock, not repetitive or rhythmic. I do not hear it when braking or driving again until the vehicle is parked and I drive once again. I suspect the CV joint is bad. However I do not hear any clicks or knocks when turning and the vehicle runs and drives well. I have a 99 Acura CL. What could the problem be, and if it is the CV joint, how much will a typical mechanic charge for repairs?

Overall I have been pleased with the performance and quality of the OEM Michelin MXM4's However I am looking to spend around $100 per tire. The OEM's are $180 each. I live in the northeast so the tires have to perform at least as well in the snow as the OEM Michelins. Something a little stickier in dry weather would be a bonus.
I read some reviews on Yokohama Avid v4s and Cooper Zeon Sport A/S but I have not settled on either and I am looking for suggestions.
I brought my 2005 TL into the dealer to get an inspection and oil change and got a phone call suggesting $2,100 worth of work:

$621 new rear brakes
$1,200 4 new tires
$100 unfreeze front brake pads
$70 oil change and inspection
tax

I'm pretty sure I can save ALOT of money if i get this done at a non-acura dealer with after market parts.. ceratinly the tires and i'd think the brake pads could save a lot.

Any thoughts on getting work done outside of the acura dealer? using aftermarket parts for the above?

Thanks!
Bluetooth not booting up in my Acura TL.

I have an 05 Acura TL. The Bluetooth is not working at all. I tried booting up, but the display just keeps reading booting up. Someone told me to hold down the back button for 20 seconds but nothing happens. Is this something the dealer has to diagnose?

Thanks

I have a 2003 Acura MDX, and after I changed the brakes, it started making grinding noise when traveling above 45MPH.

I took to the Acura dealer a few time, and they checked everything and told me that everything is fine. Nothing they can do about the noise. That really get me mad at them.

The noise only come out after 15 min of driving above 45MPH, and it continues until I slow down.

I even tired to pin down the souce of the noise, by shift to N gear, and shut off the engine while my car it travle above 50mph, the sound still there.

And just yesterday, I hear the same noise from a exact model of MDX on the road, and maybe that means someone out there is having the same problem as me.

Please help

Thanks,

The vehicle has about 90K miles on it. All four tires were replaced a year ago. The problem began prior to replacing tires. It's especially bad in the winter time. Front driver side is the worst.. I'm refilling with air every few days. VERY annoying!
