front drivers wheel. noise at 20 mph gets faster as speed increases, and slows as the car slows. no noise when you pull away untill i reach 20mph. have tried takeing it out of gear at speed and no differance, even tried rolling down hill in neutrall and sure enough 20 mph it started. sounds like something is rubbing on the tire not really a metalic sound. have checked visually underneath nothing is rubbing. thoughtof wheel bearing but from 20 mph and higher only i dont think so. any ideas please.

Thought I had a flat at first. Could this be related to AWD torque from driving at high speeds for extended periods?

My dad has told me jeeps are nothing but trouble and I will regret it and just be spending money on it constantly. Can you guys tell me if Jeeps really are just trouble and everything is going to crap out or if I'll be fine with it for like 3 years?? Thanks!

Jeep Cherokee 2000. Grinding noise on front left end when in 4WD and when turning left. Tire is NOT rubbing wheel well.

The other day I engaged the 4wd right before turning left on to a steep road, I heard a clunk and grinding and ever since then when turning left or in 4WD reverse (and sometimes going forward) I hear a grinding noise and I can feel a fast vibration from the front left end of the car. When turning left in 2WD at speeds of above 10mph I hear the same grinding noise (but softer) followed by a clunk and then it stops. Is this a stripped gear of sorts or something wrong with the front differential?

I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0 motor with approx. 190K miles on it. It has recently developed a rattle or clicking noise in the front. I have been unsuccessful on figuring out what it is. It is not there when the truck is at a stand still and idleing. When I get to about 20-25MPH it starts to get noticable in sound only. It has not affected the performance or handling of the truck. Any ideas on what this could be?
As I said when the truck is ideling, in any gear, the sound is not there. Not even if I put it in "N" and rev the motor. It is only present when the truck is moving.
Thank-you
1995 Cherokee, lh front disk brake not releasing, have rear drum brakes rotors machined in situ. New pads. All lines cleaned and purged.

Would think back pressure on line. Opened bleed valve no pressure oil came out during second incident.

This is third time in two weeks. Replaced inner bearing race. Replaced calipers twice. Machined rotors both sides in situ . Replaced pressure line LH side. System purged and bled. All this done by professionals drove 4KL and rotor temperature on RHside 85 Celsius and on LH side 280 Celsius. The second time it happened the temp must have been around 700 Celsius as the rotor was a dull cherry red. Professionals stumped. HELP

Vehicle is RH drive in Australia. Arthur

PS would be awfully unlucky for three pistons to seize one after the other. There does not appear to be any damage to steering gear or calipers or rods?

This maybe a stupid question but the Jeep has automatic locking hubs, while recently changing a u joint I noticed that when you spin the hub it also spins the front drive shaft. It's not in 4WD , I thought the hub was supposed to spin freely when they they are not engaged as it does in my Suburban, thanks for any responses.

What is the loud grinding noise in rear of my Jeep Grand Cherokee?

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd automatic 6 cylinder grinding noise from rear while driving. Replaced fuel pump, was hard to get to so I made an access port in cargo area floor and removed skid plate. Jeep sat for a couple of months and when I went to drive it the loud grinding rear noise started (only when in motion). What do you think it is? The jeep has 115m on odo; is this worth fixing?
