The warning light comes and stays on the dash when ignition is switched on. This may have contributed to a flat battery overnight. Cheers

I'm looking at a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 85,000 miles on it. It's in great condition and looks awesome. My dad has told me jeeps are nothing but trouble and I will regret it and just be spending money on it constantly. Can you guys tell me if Jeeps really are just trouble and everything is going to crap out or if I'll be fine with it for like 3 years?? Thanks!

My Jeep grand cherokee i bought 2 weeks is making a loud clicking noise, what could this be?

I just bought a 2001 JGCL and recently it statrted making a loud clicking noise- sound like it is coming form underneath the car- there is also a low clicking noise that sound like it could be coming from the engine. What could this be? Has anyone else had these kind of problems with this vehicle? Also when I step on the brakes at high speeds the car vibrates, I think this might be the rotors. I hope I did nto make a bad decision with this car, Any advice would be appreciated.

Service adviser informed me transmission failure to function, was caused due to the transmission filter dropping off. Service adviser informed me Transmission filter dropped off due to condensation water caught in filter, causing filter to be to heavy to be retained in place by the filter retainment items. Service adviser informed me Condensation water in transmission caused by idling of engine in cold weather (Alaska). Trans failure was at 55,000 miles on a 2005 jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7. Owners manual states first trans service is at 60,000 miles. Service adviser informed me that this has happened often in cold weather locations and is the consumers fault and not a defect of the product.. No where in the owners manual have I found this story or Jeep/Chrysler formulas to convert idle time to service mile equivalence's .. Looking for factory conversion formula's ?<br>

The car is regularly serviced. It has just over 64,000 miles. It began running rough a few days ago. The car has only been serviced by licensed Jeep repair clinics. Informed the cylinders in the top part of the engine need to be replaced. I have had few problems with the Jeep and it has not even reached a 100k miles. Is this problem unusual for an engine of this kind. Need advice on how to proceed. Told this could cost $5,000. Jeep is no longer under warranty. Unbelievable.

We have a 2001 GC with 106k miles. About 2 months ago, during a cold evening, it refused to start (lights, dashboard, etc worked just fine). We tried to jump it and it didn't help. We had it towed into a reputable mechanic and it started right up for them the next morning and they found no problems. It's worked for 2 months just fine and yesterday the same thing repeated itself. Not starting, let it sit for 1 day, and it started up today just fine. Please advise on what the issue may be and what next steps you would recommend.<br><br>Thanks!<br>Jeff

Hi there I have a 99 Grand Cherokee 4.0 4X4 im having electrical problems, at this point getting dispread for help. My suv wont start I tried most things I can think of, and still it wont start this is what I have checked, all the fuses are ok, the transponder key and the immobilizer its ok, crankshaft sensor its ok, i but a new computer I tooth that the old one had a problem and change it (I STILL HAVE MY OLD ONE) but it doesn’t star with nether of them, checked the alarm its ok to, i connected a computer error code and it doesn’t read the computers it says error connection, then they connected the computer from the dealership *(broth a guy with the computer) and it only said that the computer indicated the PCM and that he cud not read the computer the guy told me that probably had a short or had a cable cut and to check all the cable going to the computer because there’s no communication with the computer and the other sensors and I have don it a everything is OK all cables are good, the hood fuse box has current from the battery I took apart the fuse box and checked all the wiring and its ok, but I don’t have current loop in the injectors, PCM, And in my dash cluster the indicators don’t go up it doesn’t indicate anything, the voltage on the battery is dead, the oil pressure doesn’t go up and the gas gage doesn’t indicate anything and I added 6 gallons off gas with a gas tank and it doesn’t indicate anything it has power because you can see the ODO and when you turn on the key the lights turn on, engine light, cruse control, transponder key, ABS, seat belt etc turn on. I don’t know what cud it be has any body had a similar problem does any body have suggestions or helping data??? Appreciated a lot <br>Isaac

I have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The heater/ac selector only blows air out the defroster vent. What is the cure/cost to repair?

he 94'JGC heat selector in spite of the position you put it would only blow air out through the defroster vent and nothing comes out of the dash or floor vent. I don't hear the usual air sound when changing positions on the control knob. Could this be a hint of what the problem is? <br><br>On other sites the problem could be either vacuum hoses/(usally associated with the cruise control not working) or by turning the heat selector switch back and forth or by hitting it. Is there another possiblity? Up until yesterday it worked fine. <br><br>Could it be a blocked vacuum hose/bad heater control switch? Is there a valve in the vacuum line that could have failed. Thanks in advance for any advise.

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 v8. I am having intermittent starting problems. When operating normally, it starts right up, doesn't miss and runs perfect. I will start up almost immediately. Then every couple days, it won't start. It will turn over strongly, but just not fire ? This will almost always happen after it has been running. If I leave it for 20 min- half hour, it will start right up ?? In the morning, it always starts fine and will start normally for several days. Then I will run an errand, come out to start me car, and it just turns over. I leave it for 30 min or so, and it starts immediately? My car has 130,000 miles and it has just had new o2 sensors, an new convertor and muffler, and new plugs. Any ideas guys. Someone suggsted it was the crankshaft position sensor ? Any help appriciated . Thanks

When driving my Jeep GC 2000, after about 30+ miles driven, a whistling/high pitch sound starts from the front of the vehicle, sounds like it is on the left drivers side. When the vehicle drops below 35mph the sound goes away. It also seems to start sooner if the outside temperature is 70 or warmer.
