You can hear it shift into all the 4x4 high and low it seem to work ..but can't figure out why if they fixed the tranfercase with the clip and plastic cam in the tranfercase why they didn't notice it still drives the same. what shall I tell them when I bring it back..I do not want to be rude with them...after all they kept it for almost a week

Took my car in to ford dealer to have them fix the problem. 600.00 later 6 days they said my car was fixed. They replace a clip and a plastic cam. I took it back to let know it still drives the same..they looked at it call me and said I need a new transfer case the cost will be 2000.00! We talked to another guy who is a distance from us.. who has worked on these for 27 and said he would fix the problem..he said that the clutch were probably stuck. Well I picked my car up from the ford dealer when I got home and went to back up and turned my wheels and as I was turning I thoguht I a ran over a rock and stop no rock..and pull back up and the wheels turn perfect and no 4x4 stuck..well my sweet husband said to test the 4x4 again..well it is stuck again...do you have any Ideal what could be happening...I tried several time backing up and turning it isn't making the feeling like a ran over a rock anymore it is stuck again..so before I have to pay another person who might think they know can you give me any thing to go on. My husband is going to take it out and look at it..do you think the clutches in the transfer case have anything to do with it staying stuck in 4 high?

Lincoln Navigator 2000 Alternator Replacement

I changed the battery 2 months ago and it will not hold a charge, I have ordered a new alternator. Is there a sequence necessary for the replacement of the alternator? Also there is a switch clicking when I open the door (machine gun clicking) will this reset once I change the alternator and a charge is held in the battery?

Tire pressure sensor 2003 Lincoln Navigator

I believe the tire pressure sensors were removed from my 03 Navigator. I get as blinking Tire pressure system failure light on the dash (very annoying). I had the dealer check it out and they told me that their scanner was unable to communicate with the system.They also told me that they can disable the blinking light but if I can repair it without breaking the budget I rather go that route.

Any suggestions? should I start by replacing the sensors in the tires?

My 06 Lincoln Navigator brakes are going after 24000 miles. Is this normal

My 06 Navigator brakes are gripping when I stop. I had similar issues with an 03 Expodition. But this seems early for brakes. Anyone else have similar Issues and what has Lincoln done about it.

2003 Lincoln Navigator suspension recalibration failed! Help!

Hello,
I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator which dropped from one side ( Front right side) I took it to my mechanic and he replaced the sensor next to the air bag and the car went up again. Now the front right side( which was the one that was dropped) is slightly hire that the other side. Also the "Check Suspension" sign is still there. My mechanic then tried to recalibrate the system but he said the computer is showing that the Recalibration failed. ( Module failed to recalibrate the system). Can this be because the heigh adjustment arm ( located near the front right side near the tire) is not working properly? My mechanic said that everytime he puts the arm back in place and I drive it, it pops right back out. My mechanic also said to drive the car around for a week and then bring it back to him so that he can try to recalibrate the system. ( because it failed the first time he did it) Can the height arm cause the recalibration fail? Also why cant the computer recalibrate the system? What can I do to recalibrate the system? Also if you can tell me what will it cost to get the system and the "Check Suspension" light removed from the dealer? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My Lincoln's air suspension is not working. The front is real low and the back won't go down. Not sure what is wrong, maybe the relay? Has anyone had the same problem and has a good idea on how to fix it without taking to dealer. If it is relay, where is it located on the truck?

Changed air compressor and the back lifted ok but the front is still low can someone help. someone told me that it needed a reset but not sure?

I had to jump start my pickup using my Navi. When I went to restart the Navi the rear suspension was down and wouldn't function. A couple of days later the air bag light was flashing. The Navi start fine someone said it's the air compressor. I don't want to put 500 dollars in and thats not the problem. I was also looking to replace w/ plain old shocks. If any one has the answers Help.

2000 Lincoln Navi air pump stay on until check suspension light come on. (Note: In about one hour of driving). No leaks in airbags. Can turn off air pump and veh will stay up for days. Veh was fine until I had a radiator put in.

Are the harnesses the same or would i need to slice new harnesses to be compatible. I understand that I would also need an antennea. Hello,

I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator and It has the "Check Suspension light on the dash. I took it to the mechanic and he put it on the module and error code "C1991" came up and it said: "Module Calibration Failed." The mechanic replaced the height sensor and the solenoid was also replaced. The "Check Suspension" still remains on the dash.

What is this code and how can this problem be fixed?

My suspension seems to be working because my SUV raises and lowers itself whenever it needs to. The compressor is working.

I took it to the dealer 5 times for this problem and even let them drive it 150 miles or so. They say they cant duplicate the problem and its nothing they can do. This often seems to happen after coming off of a down hill stop. Then when accelerating, it will stay in 1st gear to over 4000 rpm. Then shift close to normal. The other problem is the sunroof wouldnt close and i had to take it to the dealer and they said it had to be reinitalized. They wouldnt tell me how to reinitalize. Is there any site that can give me that information

The step bars normally come out when I open the doors and slide back when I close the doors. Now the bars no longer come out, it just stopped working, no warning of anything being wrong with the bars.

Vehicle has been great but recently the engine vibrates considerably at 40mph and the ck engine light has come on. Have a code reader but not sure where the plug is located. Looks like I may have to remove some of the lower dash to expose the plug. Can Anyone advise?

My 98 4X4 5.4 enjine trembles as it picks up speed. has ck enjine light on. Code reader indicates Po303 or cylinder #3 misfiring. How do I check. Which cylinder is #3 - drivers or passenger side. could the problem be the coil or the spark plug or both. Is there a way to test. Would this be an easy thing to do for a on the job tinkerer.

I have a 6 CD Changer in my 2003 Navigator. When i started my car last week, it looked like it wanted to eject CD 6 without me pressing anything. Nothing ever came out, but it says its not in there. I can now not use any facet of the cd player. i am guessing its jammed, and was wondering if there was a way to unjam it myself.

2000 Lincoln Navigator navigation keeps popping out the CD. The screen lights up but stays in standby mode. Any help?

01 Navigator Center Caps break everytime they are removed.

I am so frustrated with the center caps on my 01. Everytime they are removed for a tire rotation, flat tire etc... there is 50/50 chance the tabs will break off. The only place it seems that I can buy them is at the dealer for $63 each. So far, I have probably spent $1000 on center caps over 7 years! They are PN UL7Z-1130-AC. Any leads on where I might be able to find some used? Who ever designed the plastic clips ought to be shot.

I have a 1999 Lincoln Navigator and the problem started after I replaced the battery one day getting ready to go I turned the key and it would start but then shut down so I figured it was the battery after the battery was replaced it ran perfect for a month or so and one day getting ready again I ran to the store (Ran fine) when trying to start it again coming back it would start but then shut off again for several times, after trying several times it started ran fine for another month or so and then it would do it again now I did notice that on both times the weather was cold and it was rainy(?) Now I've replaced the spark plus and 2 coils that was indicating mis fires and did a fuel system cleaning and the problem is the same, any idea what could cause this? This time it seams to be startle a bit when starting it seams like it's going to shut down.

I recently changed the heater core on my Lincoln Navigator but the heater still does not work. It blows out cold air.

I just purchased a 2000 Lincoln Navigator that has an anti/theft feature that seems to arm itself when:

1). I’m sitting in the car with the doors closed and the ignition off getting gas.
2). After I stop the car, get out of the car, and close the doors. After a time it arms itself

I’m not asking it to arm itself by using either the door key pad or the key chain fob.

How can I shut this feature off so that I can just close the door and use the door key pad without the system arming itself?
