What is the valve spacing for a 2000 Daewoo Leganza, after you replace the cylinder head?

In the process of replacing the cylinder head on 2000 Daewoo Leaganza. This was needed after an idler pulley broke and the vehicle jumped timing and broke a few valves.
After finally tracking one down in salvage, I was told that the valves need a particular spacing. If they are not, there might be stress or excessive pressure that would result in damaging the valves.
What is the ideal spacing for this particular situation? And what is the best method to complete this task.
Also, what should the torque be for the head bolts? And in what order should they be tightened?
Is there an exploded view of these engines for reference?
I have changed the water pump and a hose that comes from what seems to be the back of the water pump. It looks like there is another hose up there but it is the back of the motor and there is very little room to work. It is the area above the starter, if i look from the drivers side under the intake hoses and things I can see the fluid leaking but can not see the source.

Thanks for your time.

daewoo leganza went dead while driving and won't start? Any advice?

Already had timing belt break and replaced head and all the parts that went along with it only to have it spin off again because I didn't replace the bearings and pully's so I don't think it's that. Timing belt feels tight and no check engine light previous to car going dead. Hit a dog on the drivers side bumper that took off my fog light and it ran fine until I got home (about 30 miles) and I went to drive it the next morning. It made it a little over half a mile and it just died. There was a little shutter just before it did. I had come to a stop and was turning left and it died. I checked the fuel shut off and even replaced it but, unless I'm missing something, I don't think that's it. I read another owner on here say that the A.C. drain can get plugged and run under the passenger side floor mat. Sure enough this was happening. They mentioned something about an orange wire that I'm assuming is a ground wire that could affect the starting process of the car. Don't know if hitting the dog was just coincidence or if it tripped a sensor/relay that just didn't trip immediately. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Long Sit, Then Long Trip. Daewoo Leganza

I just inherited a 2000 Leganza CDX with about 48,500 miles on it. The oil was changed this past October, the plugs were about 3 or 4 years ago, then my mother died and I am about to go pick it up and drive about 1500 miles. She never went above 65 with it, and I am wondering if there is anything I should get done before I head out, and if there is anything I can do to help it get used to running 75 to 80? (In the way of best performance and fuel mileage.) Also, anyone have an idea of the cost of a new timing belt, or how easy is it to do myself? I used to work on muscle cars, and trucks, farm equipment, etc. until Plymouth came out with their Horizon, and I gave up on changing anything other than spark plugs after my trial by fire with a water pump! SPEAKING OF WHICH!! I was also told the new Iridium plugs would be a good idea to put in before the trip to help it get going, I'm afraid of too much heat, not enough air coming in. Am I right, or are they a good investment or should I look at a cold air intake to help it out if I get them? (WOW! All that in one breath!) I really like the car and look forward to keeping it as long as they have parts in a junk yard, and lawnmowers that can maybe swap out plugs and filters with!

Has anyone heard just how close to 50,000 miles the timing belt should be changed? Also, has anyone heard how the new Iridium spark plugs work in this motor?
the head was replaced on the 2.0 engine and not the cam sensor. the engine began to misfire. upon code check found cam senor reading as a fault plus multiple misfiring.

replaced cam sensor and vehicle ran very good, but after a week it once again misfire and ck engine light popped up plus engine had once again misfired. called daewoo dealer and was told cam positioning senor needed to be synchroniczed by the use of the scaner provided by daewoo. is this true? and if true, is there no other way to aline a newly installed cam senor?

2000 Daewoo Nubira timing belt and resurfaced heads, many new parts. No firing.

This car belongs to a friend of mine that is raising her small niece and nephew on her own. A bunch of us chipped in and got her this car at a fundraising auction around Thanksgiving.

She was coming back from her nephew's physical therapy ( these kids are handicapped) and the timing belt broke. Since the car has zero tolerance the heads had to be redone.

My husband agreed to do all the labor for her for free. She has to come up with the parts money is all. Anyhow he took the heads at a locally well know shop and had them resurfaced. These people have done a lot of work for my husband over the years. Anyhow he got new gaskets and all new parts and put the car back together.

We did find a Daewoo mechanic clear across the state that faxed him diagrams (since you can't find a Chilton's or any type of manual). He got it back together today and it turns over but there is zero fire. According to the timing marks it is in time but nothing is happening.

[edit] He just came in and said he is done with the blankety blank for the night and that he will check the compressions tomarrow. He is totally exhausted and spent for the night. I will let you know the compressions tomarrow evening around 9pm EST. I have to take the littlest to gymnastics and won't be back til then and by then he will have been working on it and beating his head on the hood. He also just told me this stuff; It is a D-tech motor, Machine shop said it was a 2.0 and he said alot of the parts were stamped with the GM stamp. It's a overhead cam motor but he doesn't know if it has lifters or not. Hope that gives you some more info to go on.

He is very frustrated and that makes his life miserable (cause he has several hundred dollars in this car in resurfacing, gaskets, bolts, timing belt etc.) and when he is not happy no one in this house is happy. Something has got to give. Please somebody!

Are Daewoo motors inoperative motors when the timing belt breaks?

I own a 2000 Daewoo Leganza. Back in November the head gasket let go. I changed the head gasket and figured while everything was open I would change the water pump and also the timing belt. It ran fine.

Now 6 months later I was driving and the car stalled and wouldn't start again. I had the car towed to my house. My mechanic check it out and said the timing belt broke.

What I am trying to find out is, when the timing belt breaks, does it cause other problems in the motor, my mechanic said it might be what they call an inoperative motor. (inoperative motor- ex: rods bent or crank brakes}. I want to know if engine is and inoperative motor of if I should just change timing belt again and hope for the best.....thanks

Initially oil light was out until I started to drive the car now the oil light continually comes on after just a few seconds of driving the car and the lifters are now tapping when the oil light comes on.

1997 Daewoo Leganza stalling when you slow down.

I have had my Leganza for 3 years with no problems until now. It has done just over 100 000km. It is a 2 litre, automatic. A few weeks ago it started stalling when you slowed down, like at traffic lights or when cornering.

You can start it just fine and it will idle but once you shift into drive it stalls. Eventually it will go though. We found if you shift into neutral quick enough when slowing down it sometimes wont stall. My speedometer stopped working altogether at the time this began , but I think it may just be coincidence. Last week it stalled going to work and was able to be started just fine but once put into drive it would not move. It didn't stall this time but would not go anywhere. We had to call a tow truck to bring the car home. It can start and idle but will not move in any gear. We noticed the auto transmission fluid is a muddy brown colour, the car hasn't done anywhere close to 1000km since the fluid was last changed. It does not smell burnt and we cannot see any particles in there.

When the stalling began we were told replace the fuel filter, we did but it fixed nothing. When the car refused to move in gear we were told to change the auto transmission fluid, we did that yesterday and it did nothing. Car still doesn't move.

We were also told we need a new transmission and that they are very hard to find, if you do find one you are looking at $4000 for a used one. Seems a bit steep to me!

Does anyone know what is causing this problem and where we can get parts? Also is the figure quoted accurate or not?
Daewoo Leganza 2002 ECU ECM problem.

Hi, I've got a 2002 Daewoo Leganza auto 2.0L petrol. My car is sparking on 2 cylinders, I have narrowed the problem to the ECU. I took the ECU out. Is it better to get it repaired or shall I get a replacement from scrap yard?

Also I am having difficulty finding the same ECU here in the UK, and also it's like impossible to get it repaired, as it's not a common car here. Please can someone help.
