I have a 78 Datsun 510 that gets temperature spikes while passing on the freeway. It runs a little hot already. Also, the exhaust manifold is cracked, but I'm working on finding a replacement. Could these two be related, and if not, why is my car running hot?

I don't know what the part is, all I have is the part number. A friend told me that it was a Speedometer gage but the pictures that I have seen online of speedometer gages are not at all what the part looks like that I have. I will see if I can find more information. Pippi

Where should I start with a car that's been sitting for at least 10 years? Datsun 280ZX.

My uncle has a Datsun 280zx that has been sitting since at least '99. The body seems to be in pretty good condition. I'm not too sure on the frame yet because I haven't been able to get a good look at it. There is noticeable work that needs to be done, and I know that it will be a bit of a pain, and very costly to fix, but, where is the best possible place to start my journey?? If you have any useful sites please let me know, and if you believe that a Haynes manual will be useful, I know where I can get one right away.

Thanks for any help,
DatsunGirl

How do I get more legroom? 78 Datsun 510.

Ok, new question about my 78 Datsun 510. Is it possible to remount the seat farther back. I thought I could just drill new holes, but upon further inspection, I realized that part of the undercarriage raises up for the seat to latch onto. Is there a product I can used to extend the track, or a way to modify? Please help, I feel like I'm stuck in an egg.
