I have put a cold air kit on. I put just 2-3 inch exhuast from the headers till rear end with no mufflers.I hollowed the catalac converters our .What else, not too expensive can I do for power speed. This is my everyday car, and does see 75 miles of highway every day.

1993 Festiva retractable seat belt does not work??

The retractable shoulder belts in my 93 Festiva do not operate. The only fuse I could find (30amp) is fine. The belts will not operate when you open the door, or when you start the engine.

Does anyone know how I should trouble shoot this???

My Ford Focus I.6 Zetec (1999)is a good little runner, the only drawback is the speedo works intermitently. It has been into a garage and has had a diagnostic but nothing showed up, the mechanic took it for a drive in the hopes that it wouldn't work but guess what! It woudn't NOT work. It is a mystery!!!! I spoke to an RAC man today and he thinks it could be a relay of some sort. Can anybody shed any light on this PLEASE???

truck does not start without playing with shifter, after a few dozen times the locks will start going up & down then truck might start. electrical or in shifter arm or box?

I am a 16 year old kid with some knowledge about cars, i know all parts of exhaust, some of engine parts but not enough to even list. I wanna become a mechanic when i graduate but in the mean time i need some where to start learning i have tried applying at jiffylube and other automotive places but they all want experience and when u never get to start u never get experience. But i wanna go in depth. where do i start? please someone point me in the right direction. Also if it helps i wanna start a project car and my choice was a 1995 V8 mustang if that helps. thanks.

I was hit hard in the rear bumper but suffered no damage at all. My car wont stay on and I was told that I have a shut-off switch. They said all fords have this shut-off mechanism. I was unaware and would like to know exactly where tis switch is located so I can start the car.

I did not replace both coil packs because the guy at Autozone said that it shouldnt need to be replaced.. Also i have removed the Mass Airflow Sensor and it doesnt do anything to how the vehicle is running..

I have a Ford F-250 7.3 runs but then shut off. I changed filter and fuel pump. Ran good up to today.

My Ford F-250 will start and run but will die. No rough running or anything just shut off. I change the fuel filter and fuel pump. But like I said, let it set and it will start and run not long. Some times it will run for about four or five miles. Battery lite and gauges light come on after it dies.

The cam sensor was changed last year.

Fuel pump relay not working, no spark, no fuel injectors. Ford F-150.

My truck just quit. In checking for troubles, I found that the fuel pump relay does not stay closed. It pulls in for about 1-2 seconds when the key is first turned on, then it opens.

It will close and stay energized if I ground the #6 test port on the ECC, and I get gasoline pressure at the pressure test port.

I do not have spark to the plugs, but do have power (12 vdc) to the coil. I called a supply house and got the ohm specs for the coil and it is within the range they gave me.

Where do I go from here?

My '07 Edge (~4500 miles) makes a loud clunk in the front end going over speed bumps and dips. The dealer says all the Edges on the lot do this (they claim they test drove them, but I wasn't there to hear if the others clunked). I've been driving a lot of years and never heard any clunking like this.

Replaced Explorer's brakes but now they are grinding. Why?

I replaced the front brakes on my nephew's 2000 Ford Explorer XLT including rotors. Now the brake pedal feels like it's grinding or vibrating. I took it all apart and checked to see if there was something loose but nothing found. Did I miss something or is there a trick to correcting this problem?

Mu 2005 Mustang has a strange problem. My right hand side indicators stay on (not flashing but on) after I turn the engine off. They are also on while the engine is running. It looks like I had switched on parking lights on one side (I am not aware that my car has parking lights like this) and that they can't be turned off. Has anyone come across this kind of problem and a possible fix?

My Ford Aerostar XLT Sport Model 1993 came with two Brake proportionate valve. One of the valve with electrical switch has started leaking when brake pedal is pressed if this can be stopped by using any kind of sealant or the valve need to be replaced. If it need to be replaced where can I get the new or used part.

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer. The first transmission was replaced at 74K miles. Ford replaced the transmission (under extended warranty) 11 months ago. I just put in my 3rd transmission around Christmas. Ford is saying that they only warranty the work on the 2nd transmission for 12 months 12K miles but wouldn't honor the 2nd transmission warranty because I put on 30K miles. I've since heard that Ford was to provide a 3-36 warranty on the 2nd transission. Does anyone have any information on Ford's warranty back in o6/early 07?

Flickering lights on 2001 Ford Focus 5 speed sedan

In August we had a new clutch, slave cylinder, seals etc. and a used tranny installed. Since then we've encountered off and on issues. On cooler days we'd see flickering dashboard lights & flickering headlights. Lately the problem has been more frequent - it seems to happen during colder weather. It has occured when I initially start up the car. Today, when initially started the car, the flickering started (dashlights went out and the guages swept). It appeared that when I depressed the gas and put the clutch in gear the problem went away. However, my husband has experienced headlights flickering at night while driving down the road, door ajar light comes on dash, sterero goes out, battery light went on. He encountered the same problems as above except that it seemed to him that a split second shut down occured. He's also experienced the flickering when he's approaching a stop sign. We've taken it to Ford & they hooked it up to (OASIS?); it said check chassis grounds & all related grounds were cleaned & checked. The alternator was checked. They couldn't find anything wrong with it & couldn't get it to act up (during a warm day) We replaced new battery recently but symptoms have occured before/after replacement. Its a 2.0 SPI engine. Could it possibly be a voltage regulator????? Any other ideas?

I can feel a slight vibration in my steering wheel. Is this an allignment problem?

After jacking the front end to check for worn ball joints, non detected, the steering wheel and tire vibrate when turning at slow speeds. All was smooth before jacking the car up and taking off one wheel.

Per another suggestion, I tried turning the wheel form full left to full right to remove air bubbles. No change. Any suggestions

Do I replace trans or is there a cheaper way? The truck has 185,000 runs good until recently started to jerk and sputter if I dont let it warm up first.Then Friday it started slipping in 2nd going into 3rd but not anywhere else.So do I need new trannie or is there a simpler fix that wont cost a fortune? 2002 ford zx-2/it has about 95,000 miles.When driving for about fifteen minutes all electrical systems shut down for about 2 to 4 seconds including the engine. The radio dial lights appear to blink seconds before everything cuts out. The first time this problem started I had just lowered the power window on the drivers side and the radio went off for a second or two then came back on.?????????

Expedition has 93000 miles, minor service has been done to vehicle spark plugs, boots, oil, oil filter, k&n air filter, major work previously done rear end replaced. seems like expo is struggling for air at times, have not changed fuel filter as of yet. while idling feels ok except for mminor vibration, while accelerating will have trouble between 1000 - 2000 rpms and obvious lack of power. only vehicle for family please help!

On the freeway in 3rd and fourth gear the truck seems to jump like 2000 rpms I will press on the gass a little bit and all of a sudden rev up, noticed it seems to happen in 4wheel drive, I live in alaska and it is always really cold, truck has 91k on it, the only rough driving was one time I got stuck in the snow and had it in 4 low and powered through the nasty snow. I may have a small leak in my rear diff. Truck runs great other than that....Anytips?

My 2002 F150 dash indicators, MPH, Tach, Fuel, Oil, etc analog indicators/gauges do not come on immediately when the ignition is turned on. Sometimes it takes them over an hour to activate. Seperately, the odometer does not indicate immediately all the time either, but it is collecting the miles data as it does show additional miles when it finally comes on.

Anyone have a similiar problem and have a resolution?

Was able to remove driver's head rest and turn it around.(Depressed lock buttons and head rest slid right out). Passenger side will go to the top of allowable travel but will not come out ! Ford dealer,service manager also was unable to remove the head rest .
