The headlights on my 2001 Hyundai Elantra don't work. I had new low beam bulbs installed, but they don't work either. My boyfriend checked all the fuses and breakers. What could be wrong?

Has anyone had an aftermarket sunroof installed on their Veracruz? Bought my VC SE without one since the factory sunroof option only came packaged with leather interior (but my wife hates leather). So I skipped it. But now I'm really missing it. Will the overhead vents get messed up? Since I've only seen a handful of VCs on the road, I don't really want mine to be the guinea pig for the shop.

1997 Hyundai Tiburon with auto tranny. Tranny over revs about 800 RPM when shifting fron 2nd to 3rd gear when cold. After car warms up it shifts properly. No problems with 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th either cold or warm. I've changed out the transmision fluid (used ATF+ 4)

I recently purchased a stage 1 clutch for my 2000 tiburon and had it installed at a shop after my old clutch finally went out. It drives fine, but I notice that while shifting at 4000+ rpms the clutch seems to take a second or more to fully engage even when the pedal is completely released. Why is that?

1997 Tiburon transmission slips when cold between 2nd and 3rd gear?

1997 Hyundai Tiburon w/ 1.8 engine - Not sure of the terminology but the automatic transmission allows the engine to rev when shifting between 2nd to 3rd when cold. I would equate this to pushing in the clutch without letting up on the gas in a manual tranny. When the car gets to the natural shift point, instead of dropping into 3rd gear, the engine will rev up an additional 800-1000 RPM (actually over reving depends on how hard you are pushing the car - the harder you are accelerating the higher it over revs between the shift) and then drops into 3rd gear. This symptom goes away after the car warms up and does not occur except when shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

Is the Hyundai Veracruz AWD or 4WD system?

I just got back from a test drive of a Veracruz. Really nice!

My question is that I can't find any info on the corporate web site that explains the 4 wheel drive system. To add to my confusion, there is a button on the dash above your left knee that locks the 4 wheel drive system. I don't know if it is AWD all the time and when you push the button to lock, that it changes to true 4 wheel drive or if it is two wheel drive until you push the button, etc, etc. If some one could point me to a link that would be great.

im a soldier, stationed in belgium. my 2004 tiburon GT shifter moves freely, without engaging the clutch. when i went to shift it a month ago, i felt like a snap. car does not shift now, and is sitting collecting dust. local mechanic said it was the clutch, and cost $3,000.00. damn! but, i feel its a linkage, or cable snapped. if it is, i cannot find the part anywhere. whats your take on this? car has around 60,000 miles

2007 Hyundai Sonata with a whine in the back end of vehicle

I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with 18000 mile. Since new this vehicle has had a whine in the back end of the vehicle when traveling over roads with tar strips or expansion slots. It is a sound that builds in volume as you hit numerious tar strips as on cemet highways. The whine also sounds like it is a large tin tank which compounds the annoyance. I have taken it to the dealer three times and had a factory rep listen to it and they have confirmed the noise. However their coment was "they have never heard that whine in any other sonata" and thus dropped the complaint. One suggestion from another mechanic was to look at the coil spring mountings as it sounded to him like a coil spring resonating up thru the body as it travels over rough jaring roads. I have also noted that when traveling over a loose gravel road it is quite loud even at
5 mph. Any one with this whine noise please inform solution Thanks

Why does Hyundai recommend that the timing belt be changed at 60K? Most manufacturers are at 100k. Poor materials?

The dealer quoted me $1300 for a 60k scheduled service. They are changing timing belt and vacuum hoses and this service is represents more than 10% of the value of the car. Is this a scam?

While doing comp. test on my 96 elantra 1.8l dohc today an adapter came off the hose for the tester. I was unaware of this & replaced the spark plug. It broke. I retrieved the piece of broken plug but while trying to get the adapter out I screwed the hose back into it. Now It has started swiveling & I can't get it out at all. Do you have any ideas how I can get it out with out removing the head?
