Just want to say thanks. You put me on the right track to get the key out of my Isuzu Rodeo. I found that a screw hold the shit release cable hosing had falen out and I was able to find it and put it back in and the key came right out. Do you have any thoughts on the Isuzus and the ABS light coming on or the intermitant windshield wipers, the wire return, and the rear wiper not working.

Thanks Again
Carl

Isuzu Trooper. I was told production stopped in the early 90's for a year or two, then resumed with a body style change. Is this true?

A parts specialist told me that there was a year or two in the 90's that troopers weren't made. So hypothetically no such animal could exist as a '91 or '92 model? I had an '86 and currently own an '88. This comes up every so often and I want it settled for sure.

Cannot disengage 4-wheel drive

I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo in 4-wheel drive. While in Park, I hit the 4-wheel drive button to disengage. The light on the dashboard blinks, but then stops blinking and remains on. When the 4-wheel drive was initially engaged (also while in Park) it was in H. While driving it began making a noise and shaking. I pulled over, parked and placed in it 4L where it has been since and has been driving just fine. The snow is now melting and I would like to disengage the 4-wheel drive, but have been unable to do so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Isuzu Axiom Transmission Cooler Line Blew.... Normal???

Hello all,
I have a 2002 Isuzu Axiom 2w drive. I've owned it since new and have babied it with good maintenance, oil changes etc.

I had the transmission serviced at 45k miles and had just about reach 90k miles for my next service of the tranny. Unfortunately the week before I was going to take it to the dealer for service, the oil cooler line to the radiator blew without warning. No leaks or other signs were evident before the failure.

Since it was the pressure hose from the tranny that split open, all of the fluid was dumped immediately had the car coasted to a stop. We had it towed to the dealership here in West Palm Beach and they replaced both hoses, the filter, gasket and flushed the tranny all of which came to $507. With the towing charge, I'm out about $600.

My question to the group is this: Should I have expected this line to let go this soon? How many others have blown with less than 90k miles?

I'm still covered under the 120k mile / 10-year power-train warranty by Isuzu but the dealership said that this pressure line is not part of that warranty. Should I appeal to Isuzu for my out of pocket expenses?

Thanks in advance for your replies,
Jerry
SE Florida

Does anybody have experience with 2002 Isuzu transmission problems?

My transmission started slipping, and reving up like the beginning of a car race. When stopping the car for a few minutes, we were able to get it going, enough to slowly make it home, not going over 35-40mph. We just had it fixed from a transmission shop today, paid $2400 to have a new one built, and sure enough it is STILL SLIPPING.. Mechanic is not in until tomorrow. Has anyone ever had this experience with this car, and if so, what is wrong with it?
It was leaking transmission fluid a few months ago so we had the actuator replaced and this stopped the leakage and it drove a bit better. But here we are, owning this car for under 6 months, and having all of these expensive problems that nobody can seem to fix. The temperature gage is now going up it is really weird. And the check engine light won't go off. It only has 75k miles on it. Is there any hope for the $5k car I just bought and then had to put $2400 into? Any help would be so much appreciated. My fiance and I are so frustrated with this and juggling my one car while this one keep getting repaired has become a nightmare and is costing us time and money.

Thanks,

Corinne

Thanks for answering the question, but what other button? There is no reset button and no clock button at all. That is why I am having so much trouble. I have tried every 2 button combination I can think of and nothing even selects the clock. Can you be more specific?

The clock is with the radio and cassette player. There are no buttons that say "clock" or "reset" or "program" or "set" like you would expect to find. There are 6 preset buttons for the radio, a fast forward, rewind, and eject for the cassette player. There is a display button, AM/FM button, tape button. Pushing the tuner dial in turns the radio on and off.

Thanks,
Kathy

Lets see, I changed the IAC, seems to be better, drove about 30 miles and didn't stall, still was rough at starting while engine is warm but did not stall out. I changed the plugs later in the day, for the most part they looked fine. Now after that i started her up and was ok for awhile and then.....Cylinder 3 misfire again(a few times today), and then code 121,throttle position sensor, I drove back home and the car was jerking quite harshly, I've had this happen before and it always cleared up, my question is, is that a possible tranny issue or some how related to code 121, I have read it could be the tranny fluid level setting the code off, or since I had removed the throttle body earlier is it more likely that?

i have a 1995 Isuzu Pickup with gray interior. my face on my stereo became loose and the passenger side of the face came away from the casing. the unit will come on and the clock will display and you can adjust the volume, but none of the other buttons work. i was wondering if anyone had any tips or more importantly if anyone knew if a stereo out of a rodeo or a prior year pickup will work.
Thanks
Jim

What could be causing these codes? 96 Isuzu Trooper.

P0101 MAF Circuit Malfunction, P0300 Random cylinder misfire, P0401 EGR Flow insufficient. I have a 96 Isuzu Trooper, I replaced the EGR valve in Oct. The codes were cleared and I still get this code. My thoughts were the O2 sensor. I have 168,000 miles on it. I NEED to get these resolved, I have to go on a trip next weekend.
Sincerely,
Donna B

I have a 1996 Isuzu Trooper LS that I want to add a tow bar/package to so I can pull a small camper (not pop up). Has anyone else done this and how hard is it to do myself (as in a friend doing welding etc). Also what am I looking at in cost. My vehicle info says I can tow up to 5000 lb.
Any info would be appreciated. I have done some WEB searching without much success and am (of course!) a single woman with NO idea on stuff like this!
My grandkids are excited about a summer camping trip with Nanna!
