2003 jaguar s-type. I've had problems with the transmission not down shifting into first when you come to a stop. it hits real hard when you go to take off. Jaguar has replaced the valve body in the transmission, and has done an upgrade on the transmission , but it continues to do it . any suggestions what this may be?

I cant connect my palm treo bluetooth to my jag s type, anyone have any ideas, they both list as being compatable

I am trying to connect my Palm Treo 750 to my Jag S type through bluetooth, nopw they pick eachother up, but after typing in the passcode all I get is "could not connect, or incorrect passcode" Now I know the passcode is correct as I can connect my motorola razr no problem. According to Jags website they should be compatable. Has anyone any ideas they could share with me please, it's driving me nuts!!!

My Jaguar was repaired by an authorized Jaguar shop. When I pointed out the "orange peel", I was told to bring the car back in 8 weeks and they would buff it out. The next morning the paint on the new bumper was chipped away and the aluminum hood is starting to show signs of blistering.

Do some or certain Jaguar engines suffer from excessive turnover before starting?

Having read a number of questions submitted, I've noticed that several mentioned the engine turning over excessively before starting. Is this peculiar to the breed/engine? Like some of those mentioned, I've changed the fuel filter, in my case there were two, one in the trunk area, the other in the engine bay.Didn't make any difference.

Restricted performance has come up on the dash info area. The car runs perfect up until 3000 rpm when it cuts out. Jaguar Vanden Plas.

i have just bought the car and it wouldnt idle when cold and then it would idle poorly when hot and stall..i then removed the throttle body to find out someone had blocked the icv off inside the throttle body. i cleared it and cleaned the icv and the butterfly and all the throttle ....now idles but at 1900 rpm...i guess thats why they done it. but what would cause it to idle so high ??

I have a 2002 jag s type. I am getting a misfire in cylinder #4. The code is p.o. 304. I have change all spark pluggs & coil packs. I reset the codes. Drive car a while thean code 304 comes back. I was wondering is their a fuse that controls that coil pack?

I just replaced the front end links. I was told that's what was causing it..but the swerving problem is still there. I have no idea what it could be. Under 20 MPH no problem at all. Over 20 MPH it starts to act up.

I Had a 1998 jaguar xk8 That started making ticking sounds. I had it towed to a naples jag dealer. They said i had a rod knock and could replace the motor for $16000.AND CHARGED me $250 dollars.I drove the car home, pulled off the valve covers and found one timing chain tentioner cracked and one in peices.I fixed it after spending about $600 on special tools and parts.The upgraded parts were made out aluminim instead of plastic.I am thinking of buying a newer model, does any one know if or when they fixed that problem. I thought it was leaking from the oil pan but it does not to appear that way, I see oil leaking by the housing that the oil filter attaches to and running down the block and than down the oil pan. What could it be that is within that area attached to the block

The transmission is a sealed unit and there is no information in the owners manual on fluid type since there is no dip stick for checking or adding of fluids.

I waterproofed the softtop of my XJS with something that someone at a hardware store recommended and it has left spray marks all over my top..and rubbery residue..I've tried everything from a metal brush to an iron to remove this to no avail..I'm this close to a sander but am worried about destrying the top..help!!

I just got done replacing the right rear pads and rotor, i was able to turn in the piston and it went in nice. But the left side wont go in. I tried a clamp, i tried turning it in (both ways) and nothing.

The piston seems to be locked in and now i cant even put the old pads back in, because the piston has come out too far.

I took the caliper off the car so i can work it outside and i'm stuck now. I need some help.

Dual transmission--automatic on right side of center console, manual shift on left side of console. XJ6 (which is also XJ40) with 4.0 L 6 cyldr engine. I wish to tow it wheels down behing my motorhome. Do I have to do anything special i.e. transmission pump? Disconect drivetrain? Are base plates available for this model?

Restoring a 1987 Jaguar XJS - bought an 87 xjs conversion kit from John's Car - now need a 93 xjs hood because after dropping a 383 V8 Stroker, Tuned Port Injection (TPI) motor in the car, the hood will not close - the hood slightly touches the top of the TPI plenum when trying to close the hood. The 93 hood fits the 87 jag and we think will provide the needed clearance.
Thoughts on helping please???

How do you replace 2002 Jaguar x type headlight

I have tried to replace the low beam headlight bulb on the passenger side of the car. I have unclipped the two wire clips and tried to remove the black plastic cap that covers the light on the inside. The cap moves easily on the right hand side but the left hand side (toward the fender) seems to be attached somehow in the upper corner. I didn''t want to use force to try and remove it. Is there something else that holds the black cap in place? Am I missing removing something? If anyone else has replaced the passenger side bulb I would appreciate some help as to how you did it. Thanks.

1990 Jaguar XJ40 4.0 liter automatic. Engine runs ok cold. When hot engine stalls when put into gear. In neutral engine runs ok.

Engine runs ok when cold. When hot engine dies down when placed into gear. Take out of gear and engine runs ok and will accelerate. Put into gear and engine dies down. Take out of gear and engine runs ok.

Up to recently starting was always instantaneous,but now,occasionaly it takes 4 or more seconds to start.Once started,the problem never happens on restarting after up to about 2 hours rest.It very rarely happens after overnight garage parking,it is more likely to happen after being left standing outside for 4 hours or more. I have had the crankshaft sensor and petrol pump relay replaced but no improvement. Any suggestions?

Would it be any cheaper to maintain or fix a 93' - 96' Jaguar XJS convertible or coupe with a V6?

So would having a V6 lower the maintenance cost any, or more importantly the cost of getting it fixed? Would it up the reliability any, or would it just make things a tad cheaper each month? Is there any major difference between the above years?

Car turns over a lot before starting by modern standards. Also after a complete warm up or long drive, it doesn't want to start. Seems like it is out of gas. After cool down, it starts as usual. I suspect fuel is draining back into the pump and when warmed up can't overcome vapour lock.
