97 Plymouth Neon. When drive if i hit a bump it feels like im bottoming out. I mean the rear end seams to slam down. I've replaced the struts about 11,000 miles ago. There was no change. I replaced with Gadriel ultra. The whole car just seems to rattle. The car just seems like ply forgot to put in a suspension.Any idea on getting a softer ride

I have a 1998 dodge neon,it's getting very hard to make u turns or k turns,as i drive along the the steering is very tight.As i drive on it begins to loosen up & easy to steer,but when i slow down to turn in any direction,it seems like the powersteering disappears, what's happening?,HELP!

I was under the impression SOHC meant single ocerhead cam, DOHC meant dual overhead cam, but another neon owner said no, but didn't explain.

This is an ongoing problem that new ties, wheel alignment and front end repair have not fixed. I also notice that at slow speeds the steering wheel is sporadically harder to turn.

All parts store have booster for abs sys 2wheel disk /2 wheel drum master brake cyl. has a 2-3 " shaft extending past cyl into booster slips over booster shaft .problem is hissing when peddle pressed and brake goes to floor but still has a little brake any help would be great

I own a 98 Dodge Neon.
Since I have had it I have had to replace some parts, but none more so than the front right caliper and brakes. Starting last summer I have replaced these parts 3x and have to replace them again. They freeze together so that it grinds down my brakes to nothing. Now all you can hear is the grinding of metal on metal with no brake pad in between. Why does this part keep freezing up on me? I am a college student with very little money and I can't keep replacing this part. Can someone tell me why this can keep happening?

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SRX that I bought in Sept 08. It has always had a clunking sound in the front end, when I go over frost heaves or bumps in the road. It sounds like something is very loose.

I thought it might be the struts, but I have no idea. There's no paperwork on what's been done to the car either.

What do you think it is, and how much do you think it will cost to fix it?

2001 Neon R/T Installed Gold Line 1.5" lowering springs. Rear shocks leaking a lot. Question what do I use as a replacement shock that will not leak in a short time? the Gold Lines are 170 lbs./sq. inch over 125 lbs/sq.inch. The rT/ shocks are 150 lbs over 120 lbs. I read that a difference of 20% is acceptable and will not damage the shocks. Is this true? KYB Gr-2 are not good, Monroe I doubut will handle to extra pressure of the Gold Lines. Tokico, Koni yes but quite costly.

What do I do? What shocks are good? thank you

My 97 Dodge Neon has had a few problems but still gets me to where I am going. For a while it would on occasion try to stall unless foot was kept on gas then would correct itself sometimes in a day sometimes in a few weeks. I replaced the TPS and Idle speed valve because gas milage also dropped from 250-300 miles per tank to 125 miles per tank. Now I get about 175 miles per tank.Better but still not fixed. I also have a problem with oil light. It comes on after car running for about 15 minutes but will go off if idle about 15000-2000. Was told sensor on top of motor could be dirty-cleaned motor, changed valve cover gasket/plugs did oil change-light went out for a few days now back on. No engine noises. Any ideas. Of yeah, the mechanic did fix a vaccuum line also..not sure if more need replacing.

smell gas when started just replaced both O2 sensor didn't fix the problem now what.

I was told that the possible reason that my Neon might not be starting is that the clutch saftey switch might have gone bad. It is a 1997 1.5L DOHC FI Man Trans. Does this part even exist? If so where is it and how do I replace it and or test it before I do.

Have a 2001 Neon. The heater goes off and the airbag light goes on. Does anyone know what the problem is?

When you start the car the heater runs but when you try to turn it up or after a few minutes of running, it completely shuts down and the airbag light comes on.

I have a 1998 plymouth neon,2dr 5speed,140000 miles runs very good,starts up every time,when driving the motor cuts off.Ilet it sit 2 or 3 mins, it starts up again.Relays and fuses are all ok, no vac leaks, I'm thinking cloged fuel filter. Fuel pump sounds strong and steady.

1997 Dodge Neon 2.0 DOHC runs fine until it gets up to temperature and then it hesitates and stalls and is hard to start until it cools down. Sometimes starts when holding gas pedal down. Has torque converter electrical code but this has been replaced along w/ crank, cam sensor and ECM. Changed filter and transmission fluid also. Any ideas as this isdriving me crazy.

'97 Dodge Neon. 2002- Fuel pump will not run. Replaced pump and all associated hardware at the pump, also replaced ASD & fuel pump relay & fuse. Got Fuel. Today, Feb.2008. Fuel pump will not run. Resistance check at the pump showed 78 ohms. Wacked the fuel tank with a 2X4, got 18 ohms. Jumped 12 volts from pin 30 to pin 87 at the fuel pump relay. Got 12 volts at the pump connector. Pump will not run. What's Up with this thing ?

you answered my question about my battery problem,umm it was just a bunch of little sparks, but i did have the trunk open { just to eep my tools off the ground and away from the anti freeze that i had drained out to remove the hose to the rad to get at the starter} when reconnecting the battery, my dad said he might of crossed a wire somewhere when we were hooking the new starter in, is it possible that may cause the sparking

I took my 05 Dodge Neon to AutoZone, the code showed up as "crankshaft position sensor intermittant". Can you tell me where this sensor is located or where I can find out? I asked the tech at autozone he said he couldn't tell me he didn't have any info on the computer. I ordered the sensor, but still can't find the sensor location.

I have a Plymouth Neon that keeps blowing the 30 Amp starter fuse. If the car has been driven and sits for a short brief time, occasionaly the starter grinds (like the relay is not disengaging) or the fuse will blow. This does not happen if the car sits for more than 30 minutes. The starter is brand new and there doen't appear to be any visable problems with the battery cables, but somewhere there is a short. I checked a Haynes repair manual and it says there is a fusible link between the battery, alternator, and starter but I don't see it. I wanted to see if it is blown or melted before I go futher. Any help?
