I just bought a 2004 Pontiac Montana just little over a year ago, never really had any problems with it before. Just about 3 weeks ago, the van started to shut off in the middle of driving somewhere. Wasn't to sure to think of it. I looked at the module, then the plugs. Changed the module and tested all the wires to module and got the right amount of voltage from the wiring?! Changed the oil sensor unit that's in the crank shaft and still to no avail!? Can anyone please tell me what it could be, or if this happened to you did you find the answer or fix??
Angel 05

A newly replaced 1999 Alero 3.4 engine with 27K miles.

Thought it a great motor w/ only 27K, but have this problem

Any thoughts??? Understand if it was water getting into the motor, but engine oil looks nice & clean, only low//
thanks

2001 Pontiac Montana. Sometimes will not restart after turning off. Must wait 45 minutes, then it starts right up. Why?

I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana. Periodically after turning off the car,if I go to start it a few minutes later, it wont start. It acts like its out of gas, even though it might have a half tank of gas. If I wait 30 or 40 minutes, it starts right up like there was never a problem. Temperature gauge reads normal, everything else seems to work fine. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it? Mileage on this car is 121300.Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

I am considering buying an extended warranty for this car, as I want to give it to my son. I just had the transmission replaced. I was wondering if it is worth buying the warranty, or not. Besides the transmission, are there any other major problems people have experienced with this car at mileages above 90,000?

I had the vehicle shiiped over here from Germany and had it detailed before we sent it on the boat to Georgia. When we pciked it up at the port the rear lift gate would not open. The door handle moves up and down and it sounds like the door lach is moving but the door will pull open. I have tried to have my son pull on the handle while I pushed from the inside to see if is just stuck but it does not work. It sounds like it is unlocking when I push the electronic locks but it still does not move. WHat could I do to get it open and fixed so I may use the back portion of my van?

I recently acquired and 98' Pontiac Trans Sport Montana from a friend. It is in good condition except that it needs a new battery. I managed to removed the support bar and fuse box on top of the battery, but when I tried to take the old battery itself out, it wouldn't budge. I can't even tell where it's connected at. Can anyone give me instructions on how I'm supposed to take out this battery?

2001 Pontiac Montana front power window problems.

Hello all, I am perplexed and hope to have someone shed some light here. We have a 2001 Pontiac Montana with a very odd front power window issue. BOTH front power windows will not operate up or down unless BOTH front doors are open. Closing just one door renders all window operations useless. The yellow power wire to both power window switches reads a good 12 volts regardless of the position of either door. With both doors open the windows function fine, if u manually strike either door catch to the secure closed position both windows will not move, if you strike it to the first "safety position" the windows will work fine. Yet there is zero change on the volt meter display during any of these tests. Holy cow I be lost.

I could only feel the air is just barely cool it doesn't get cold as it should.

How can I test to make sure that the AC is working? He said that AC will only work when the outside temperature is above 10 degree C. I've never heard of this before. Has any one? Is this true?

The front power windows won't work at all and the power lock buttons will lock but not unlock the doors. The power locks have had this issue since we received this vehicle back from another family member in April but a few weeks ago while on vacation the windows just quit working. They worked intermittently for a while after that and now they don't work at all. Prior to vacation the left rear turn signal was blinking fast as if a bulb was burned out but worked properly when I stepped on the brake. When checking the bulbs I found that it seemed something had shorted out and one of the plug pins was blackened, the plug had melted slightly around the pin and the connection was bad. I repaired that problem and the turn signal works fine now. Any thoughts or advice on the window and lock issues would be greatly appreciated!

I still owe $8000 on the 2003 Montana with around 100,000 miles. I have a high interest rate because my credit was bad at the time. I was in a jam so I bought the car. I am not able to refinance because it is over 100,000 miles. I am not sure if I should trade it in and add the negative amount to the new loan. I am wondering if the rebates or incentives on a new car and a better interest rate would be better than staying with the Montana and high interest I have now. Any Suggestions?

I have an'02 Pontiac Montana. The headlights dim and the heater/ac fan drops from high to almost off. The battery light cycels off and on, the shop says this is to protect the alt. The issue only presents itself when the van is fully warmed up and occcasionly is triggered by turning left, or when ideling, however it happens all other time also. It seems to be happing more regularly noe that the weather is warming up. It has been in the shop many times with no luck in pin pointing what is causing the issue. Thanks

If car runs out of gas is there a failsafe that needs to be reset? Pontiac Montana.

Battery on our 2006 Pontiac Montana was bad. I changed battery, car started but only ran for minute or so. Further inspection revealed car might be out of gas. Gauge read "e" and idiot lite on. Put gas in car, still won't start, turns over good. Is there something i need to do because of battery change or out of gas?

Are there any problems to worry about, beside the transmission, in a 1997 Pontiac Montana with 90,000 miles?

I am considering buying an extended warranty for this car, as I want to give it to my son. I just had the transmission replaced. I was wondering if it is worth buying the warranty, or not. Besides the transmission, are there any other major problems people have experienced with this car at mileages above 90,000?
