kbchamp	02, Pontiac Grand Prix. Engine has a ticking noise. Replaced timing chain and gears and all lifters. Still noisy? 02, Pontiac Grand Prix. 3.1L Engine has a ticking sound like lifters or a timing chain rattle. Replaced both timing chain and gears and all lifters. Still makes the same noise. Putting a hose on the block to locate the noise. Seems to be on the back side of the engine. Any ideas? Noise is the same cold or hot.

Try checking for a small exhaust leak from the manifold gasket.
