Never heard of a fuel/air intake valve. Is it possible they meant the fuel pressure regulator? Do you have a check engine light on? If so, it would be helpful to get the codes so we can focus more narrowly and accurately on the problem. Any large auto parts store will do it for free. If not, I would first clean the MAF sensor since it is very easy to do and does affect whether the engine runs lean or rich if it is gummed up. It is located in the air intake plenum just past the air filter box. You need to remove it and clean the wire with CRC sensor spray available at any auto parts store. I would also replace the PCV valve which they should have done on a regular tune up. If it is clogged it will affect the idle and fuel economy. Lastly, idle problems are frequently just caused by a dirty idle air control valve. The IAC controls the idle and if it has a lot of carbon deposits it can malfunction and cause a rough idle. Again, it can be cleaned easily with throttle body spray cleaner.
