The immobilizer is part of your alarm system. If someone breaks into your Pacifica, the immobilizer is triggered and you can't start the car.

Check your owner's manual to see if the Pacifica has a bypass switch hidden somewhere, usually under the dash. Otherwise you may need to talk to a dealer and have them bypass the immobilizer or fix the anti-theft system.

My Subaru's immobilizer went off yesterday for no apparent reason. I think the key fob battery was so weak it wouldn't properly disarm the vehicle. Or frozen ice and slush may have triggered the shock sensor somehow. Or maybe a fuse in the alarm circuit blew or there's a wiring short. Fortunately I know where my bypass button is and I can still drive my car while I figure out what the problem is.
