1989 Dodge Neon. Engine Codes 12 and 44?

After replacing the starter on my son's '89 Dodge Neon (a totally fun repair - not) the car is now showing codes 12 and 44 - loss of battery connection to PCM and battery temperature sensor, respectively. We've cleared the codes but they reappear the next time the car is started. When we replaced the starter, we did so from the top - removing the fans and battery and lifting the battery box out of the way (to remove the drivers side fan). Could we have inadvertently unplugged something? Where is the battery temperature sensor anyway?

The answer is that there is no such thing as a 1989 Neon. The first model year for Neon was 1995.
