1992 Mercury Marquis headlights either don't work or blink and the taillights have stopped working now also. Ideas?
Just bought the car. The headlights will come on but then they start to blink when I brought the car home the dash and tail lights were working but now neither of them are working either. I was told that the headlight switch needed to be replaced but I am wondering about the taillights and dash lights now

Probably all these circuits run through the headlight switch, so it's possible that's your answer. My only hesitation is this blinking problem, which suggests a headlight relay. If the tail lights were also blinking (how would you know, right?) then a relay could be the issue. It might be cheaper to just replace these two parts then to pay a mechanic the hours to diagnose it.
