1994 Crown Vic. Sorry asked question wrong before
1994Crown Vic Rephrased question. Now it is cold I have to hold over the key for a long time, (10to30 seconds) then the starter engages and the engine starts OK. Is this normal. Flint Martin

You need to clarify your symptom further. Are you saying that you hold the key over for 10-20 seconds, and you hear nothing for that period of time.....and then later the starter motor engages and cranks the engine? Or are you saying that you hold the key over for 10-20 seconds, and during those 20 seconds the starter is engaged and turning the engine, and after that period of time the engine finally starts running by itself? These are two totally different problems.
