1997 Ford Explorer driver door won't unlock no matter what. How to fix it?

Driver door will not open at all. Tried to open with exterior door handle, interior door handle, key fob, and keyless entry pad. Can hear the solenoid click like it is trying to unlock the door but nothing happens. Getting tired of crawling over the console to get into the driver's seat. Is this a lock actuator, lock assembly, or door latch problem? Any ideas what I need to have fixed and the approximate cost?

Hi
I'm sorry I don't have ananswer, but I have the same problem only on a rear door. It just happened today. If I find the answer I will get back to you. If you would, if you find the answer before I do please let me know. I'm really trying to figure out how to even try to work on it when you cant open the door!
Thanks
Ed
